PoliticsI Am Not Ungrateful’ – Former APC National Chairman Debunks Defecting To ADC by Irene671(op): 10:27am On Jan 09

Former All Progressives Congress (APC) National Chairman Abdullahi Adamu has refuted reports circulating on social media alleging that he has defected to the opposition African Democratic Congress (ADC).

Speaking to New Telegraph on Thursday, Adamu dismissed the claims as false and an attempt to gain attention via social media.

He firmly stated, “I am not an ungrateful politician,” emphasizing his loyalty and commitment to his political journey.

Adamu, a two-term governor of Nasarawa State and Senator under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has a long-standing political career, having served as the Secretary of the PDP Board of Trustees (BoT) during the tenure of former President Olusegun Obasanjo.

He also played a pivotal role in the formation of the APC, helping steer the party to prominence before serving as its National Chairman in 2022.

The report that claimed Adamu had defected to ADC circulated widely online, suggesting the alleged move was the result of a deepening rift within the APC. The report cited months of quiet consultations and dissatisfaction with the internal direction of the APC. According to the report, Adamu’s exit would be a significant blow to the APC, given his status as one of its most influential figures since the party’s formation in 2015.

However, Adamu strongly rejected these claims, stating, “Don’t mind the social media reporter. They want to draw me out, but I have nothing to tell anybody. I am not an ungrateful politician. I served at the highest level of my party, and I am where I am today.”

Adamu served as National Chairman of the APC until his removal in 2023, following the general election that brought President Bola Tinubu into office. During his tenure, he was a strong supporter of Senate President Ahmed Lawan’s presidential bid under the APC platform.

PoliticsI Never Declared For Presidency – Peter Obi’s Ex-Running Mate, Datti Baba-Ahmed by Irene671(op): 9:47am On Jan 09
Datti Baba-Ahmed, former running mate of Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party in the 2023 election, has dismissed claims that he had declared for the presidency in 2027.

He made this clarification known in an interview on Channels Television on Friday.

This comes as claims emerged two days ago that Baba-Ahmed had declared to run for presidency in 2027.

Reacting, Baba-Ahmed said he did not declare for presidency; rather, he only reiterated his membership in the Labour Party.

“I never declared to contest for presidency; I simply reiterated my membership in the Labour Party. Even though there could be a possibility for that happening.

“I clearly stated that one will have to wait for the Independent National Electoral Commission timetable and the party to make the call,” he said.

Validated:
I have never seen a confused set of people. You want Anioma state, who cares if it is part of SS or South North or NE. By the way, do they share federal allocation by region or by state?
Then, they have started arguing where the capital should be. I will suggest the capital be moved to Agbor. Asaba is too close to the SE, since Anioma MUST not be part of SE.
The slot for creating a new state is for South East, specifically for the creation of a 6th state in the region. Anioma State's creation is a welcome development if Delta North joins South East and the Capital remains in Asaba.
However, if they refuse, the South East might opt for Adada or Etiti State instead. Ned Nwoko has pushed for Anioma State, but some Delta North politicians, like Okowa, reportedly oppose joining South East, wanting it part of South South.
Unfortunately for them, the slot is allocated to South East, not South South.
PoliticsINYC Commends NPA Management's Directive On Use Of Warri Port by Irene671(op): 4:42am On Dec 04, 2025
Blue Economy: INYC commends NPA management's directive on use of Warri Port, demands reconstruction of Escravos Breakwater.

The Itsekiri National Youth Council, INYC, has commended the management of Nigerian Ports Authority, NPA, following its order that vessels and cargo operations be redirected to Warri Port, as part of national strategy to decongest Lagos ports and promote regional economic balance.

The zenith Itsekiri youth body in a statement released Wednesday in Warri, Delta State, asserted that the directive underscores the determination of NPA management to focus on operational efficiency, safety of navigation and mandatory compliance with standard procedures, in - line with the Renewed Hope agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, which is geared towards developing our Blue Economy.

The INYC in the statement authored by its President, Comrade Appearance Afejuku and Secretary , Hon. Raymond Pira, expressed delight that the NPA has established clear guidelines for vessels and operators within the Warri Pilotage District.

Whilst calling on the Lagos state government to support the renewed policy drive by NPA to scale up operations of ports in the Niger Delta, INYC stressed the need for the federal government to reconstruct the Escravos Breakwater, which collapsed long time ago.

According to the foremost Itsekiri youth body, collapse of the Escravos Breakwater, has led to significant increase in siltation and navigation problems as well as causing vessels to run aground, resulting in suspended operations and financial losses.

PoliticsWarri, Koko Ports Revitalisation Will Boost National Equity, Economic - NPA by Irene671(op): 4:29am On Dec 04, 2025
Warri, Koko Ports Revitalisation Will Boost National Equity, Economic Inclusion - NPA

The Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) has described the ongoing revitalisation of Warri and Koko ports in Delta State as a profound act of nation-building that promises to decentralise economic opportunity and weave a more inclusive map of national prosperity.

In a policy document seen by The Guardian, the NPA noted that the strategic development of the Delta ports is actively “scripting a new chapter, one where opportunity flows eastward and northward.”

It emphasised that “this is how Nigeria builds not just ports but equity,” framing the initiative as a core component of sustainable economic development and regional balance.

The NPA said the logic behind this geographical shift is “unassailable,” pointing out that the chronic congestion in Lagos ports has “inflated logistics costs and dimmed Nigeria’s competitiveness,” whereas the Delta ports are “strategically positioned to serve the South-South, Southeast, and North Central regions with natural ease.”

“The NPA’s ‘Atlantic Gambit’ is proving to be a masterstroke in economic planning. By transforming the Delta’s waterways into corridors of commerce, Nigeria is not just decongesting Lagos; it is decentralising opportunity and building a maritime nation where every shoreline counts and every community participates in the story of national renewal,” said a senior manager at the Authority, who pleaded for anonymity.

Findings by The Guardian showed that the economic impact of the revitalisation was already being quantified. The NPA’s operational statistics revealed that the Delta ports had handled 293,013 metric tonnes of cargo, accounting for 10.7 per cent of the nation’s trade volume — a share that is expected to grow significantly.

Underpinning this growth is a robust public-private partnership model. The Landlord Port Model allows the NPA to retain regulatory oversight while concessionaires like Associated Maritime Services bring the capital and efficiency needed for world-class operations.

It was also discovered that the Authority’s commitment has moved beyond rhetoric to substantial investment. The dredging of the Escravos Channel, the construction of modern signal stations, and the deployment of the security vessel SPB Likoro are all cited as concrete steps that have converted “scepticism into certainty.”

The NPA senior manager explained: “Each dredged channel and reconstructed quay is an act of faith in Nigeria’s capacity to rise to global standards, to move from rhetoric to results, and to transform geography into opportunity.”

The source emphasised that the revitalised port complex is seen as a catalyst that will “stimulate the blue economy, support fisheries and aquaculture, attract tourism, and power ancillary logistics services.”

According to him, the NPA has learned that physical infrastructure alone is insufficient.

“Steady collaboration remains the golden thread binding this vision together,” he said, pointing to the Authority’s successful engagement with traditional rulers and local communities.

“When community leaders see the port as a partner, the cranes rise without disruption,” he noted, highlighting how social licence has become a critical component of the project’s success.

The NPA is also rebuilding investor confidence through transparency and data-driven decision-making.
This has repositioned it as “both a maritime authority and a development catalyst” making the Delta ports a magnet for new investment.

The ultimate goal, as articulated by the Authority, is to build a resilient and diversified maritime network. “Warri and Koko are no longer fallback options; they are front-runners” ensuring Nigeria’s trade is no longer vulnerable to disruption at a single point.

PoliticsDSS Screen Out El-rufai But Cleared Uche Nnaji, Atiku Alleges Double Standards by Irene671(op): 1:16pm On Oct 08, 2025
The DSS Which Screened Out El-Rufai is the Very Agency That Cleared This Same Character, Nnaji-Atiku

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, has reacted criticized President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's administration over the resignation of the Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology, Uche Nnaji.

The Puzzle That Almost No One Finishes
Every move brings you closer to the twist. Start now and see if you can reach the end before the clock runs out.

Atiku characterized the administration's decision to accept the minister's resignation as an attempt to "whitewash" a significant moral failure, stating that the scandal was merely typical of the "forgery-ridden character" of the Bola Ahmed Tinubu government.

The Minister’s exit on Tuesday came amidst reports of a certificate forgery controversy, specifically concerning academic and National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) credentials he submitted for his 2023 ministerial screening.

Investigations revealed that the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, could not confirm the authenticity of the degree certificate he presented.

The former Vice President argued vehemently that Minister Nnaji should not have been given the dignity of a voluntary exit.

Instead, he asserted, the minister should have faced immediate dismissal and prosecution for what he termed "deceit and falsification." By allowing the minister to "quietly exit through the backdoor,"

Atiku claimed the Tinubu administration exposed itself as an "assembly of forgers, impostors, and morally bankrupt individuals."

He also criticized the Department of State Services (DSS), the agency responsible for vetting ministerial nominees.

Atiku pointed out the inconsistency of the DSS, which reportedly screened out former Kaduna State Governor, Mallam Nasir el-Rufai, due to "security concerns," yet cleared Mr. Nnaji despite the glaring allegations against his academic records.

According to Atiku, this failure of due diligence makes Nigeria a global target for "ridicule" and raises serious questions about how many other individuals with questionable credentials hold sensitive positions in the current government.

He said, "What makes this even more embarrassing is that the same Department of State Services (DSS) which screened out Mallam Nasir el-Rufai for alleged “security concerns” is the very agency that cleared this same character, Uche Nnaji. The DSS truly deserves our flowers for this national disgrace. Their failure of due diligence has made Nigeria an object of ridicule before the world and raises the question: how many more of such individuals are occupying sensitive positions in this government?"

Also, he connected the scandal directly to the highest office in the land, arguing that the episode is symptomatic of a widespread "rot that begins from the very top."

He revisited the numerous, decades-long controversies surrounding President Tinubu’s own identity, age, and academic history, including the widely publicized Chicago State University saga.

According to Atiku, the President’s personal history of alleged forgery has effectively "institutionalized falsehood in public service," making it unsurprising that his cabinet members would follow suit by allegedly falsifying their own
To address what he called the deep moral decay, Atiku demanded an "independent, transparent, and comprehensive investigation" into the professional and academic credentials of the entire Federal Executive Council, insisting that the probe must begin with President Tinubu himself.

He warned that until this "cleansing" is undertaken, the nation faces a continued decline into moral and economic ruin.

US First-Ever Congressional Briefing On Biafra Opens Door To Int’l Recognition – BRGIE

Amid claims of genocidal killing of Christians in Nigeria, the Simon Ekpa-led Biafra Republic Government in Exile has said that the United States Congressional briefing is an open door to international recognition.

BRGIE disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday, explaining details of the congressional briefing.
According to BRGIE, the US Congressional briefing on Biafra was held on September 18th, 2025.
During the briefing, Michael Rubin, senior fellow of the American Enterprise Institute, and Ogechukwu Nkere, Acting Prime Minister (APM) of BRGIE, were keynote speakers, according to a video released on X.

On his part, Nkere expressed the desire of BRGIE to enter into economic, defence, and military deals with the United States and called on the US government to sanction Nigeria for alleged human rights abuses against Biafrans.

He also demanded the release of Indigenous People of Biafra leader Nnamdi Kanu by Nigeria and Simon Ekpa by Finland.

“The United States Congress held a congressional briefing on Biafra on September 18, 2025, the first ever congressional briefing on Biafra in modern history.

“The congressional briefing also demonstrates Mr Nkere, who has close ties with the US government, has emerged as the new leader of the Biafran independence movement after the incarceration of Ekpa,” the statement reads.

However, the Nigerian Government continues to insist that there is no targeted attack on Christians in the country.

Ethnicity Will Come In, They Did It Because I'm The Igbo Man Who Is Supplying All The Cables– Wike.

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has warned that those who benefited from past government contracts may soon begin to attack him because of the new way his administration is handling projects in Abuja.

In a video shared by TVC News, Wike made this known while launching a hybrid solar lighting project in the city. He explained that unlike in the past, when contractors would use “maintenance” as an excuse to collect money without doing proper work, the new project will be managed directly by the company responsible for it. This, according to him, will block opportunities for misuse of funds.

The minister noted that because of this decision, some people will become angry and try to discredit his efforts. He said critics may use ethnicity and religion to spread false stories against him and his team. He added that some may claim he is being favoured because of his ethnic background or accuse him of religious bias.

Wike insisted that such attempts would not distract his administration from delivering on its responsibilities. He said those who are upset are simply used to benefiting from loopholes in the system and are unhappy to see things done differently.

He emphasized that his office has made a firm decision to ensure transparency and efficiency in projects under his watch.

In his words, "Ethnicity will come in. 'They did it because I'm the Igbo man who is supplying all the cables, I'm the Igbo man who is supplying the generators.' And they will send people to social media, radio, and begin to lambast us."

PoliticsBreaking: 2027, I’m Willing To Step Down For A Younger Candidate – Atiku by Irene671(op): 6:13pm On Oct 01, 2025
2027 Presidency: I’m Willing to Step Down for a Younger Candidate – Atiku, Gives Reason

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has declared that he is ready to shelve his presidential ambition ahead of the 2027 general election if a younger and widely acceptable candidate emerges under the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

Atiku made this known during an interview with BBC Hausa Service on Wednesday, as part of activities marking Nigeria’s 65th Independence anniversary.

The former presidential candidate explained that his interest in the 2027 race is not about personal ambition, but about providing a credible alternative to rescue the country from its current state. He urged younger Nigerians to actively participate in politics, assuring them of his full backing if they choose to run for the highest office.

“My being in the 2027 race does not prevent anyone from contesting. If a vibrant and widely accepted younger candidate emerges, I am willing to step aside,” Atiku stated.

Atiku also shed light on his decision to align with the ADC, blaming internal crises within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and alleged government interference for his departure.

According to him, efforts to build a united opposition under the PDP were repeatedly undermined by some party leaders who, he claimed, were being used by the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to create division.APC party merchandise

“We couldn’t achieve our objectives in the PDP because some leaders were being influenced by the APC to frustrate the opposition. The crisis kept growing, and hopes of resolving it kept fading,” he explained.

He added that if he had held a key decision-making role within the PDP leadership, he would have taken firm steps to resolve the party’s challenges. However, he lamented that those occupying such positions were more focused on personal interests.APC party merchandise

Speaking on the future of the ADC, Atiku revealed that the party has already established its national leadership and is now focused on building strong state and local government structures ahead of the 2027 elections.

“Our plan is to ensure the ADC has solid structures at every level, so we can be fully prepared for the elections,” he said.

He also reflected on Nigeria’s journey since independence, noting that while there have been some improvements, the country is still far from the vision of its founding fathers.

“Nigeria has experienced changes, but they are not the kind of progress our founding fathers envisioned. There’s still a lot of work to be done,” he remarked.

PoliticsCultists On The Run, Any House That Belongs To Cultists Will Be Demolished - Edo by Irene671(op): 6:32pm On Sep 19, 2025
Cultists On The Run, Any House That Belongs To Cultists Will Be Demolished - Edo Govt

The Edo State Government has demolished four houses linked to suspected cultists and arrested more than twenty individuals in a major security operation across the Etsako West Local Government Area.

The action was carried out by the state’s Special Security Squad, known as “Operation Flush Out Cultists and Kidnappers”, under the leadership of the Chief Security Officer to the Government House and the Governor’s Principal Security Officer.

One of the properties demolished, located on Egbiadokhai Street behind Otaru Primary School in Auchi, belonged to a wanted cult figure known as Too-Believe. The building had been identified as a regular meeting point for the Confraternity.

During the operation, security forces recovered two cut-to-size guns, two black beret caps, and one sharp axe from the premises. Too-Believe remains at large.

Another property demolished in the Anoguele Street area of Iyakpi, South-Ibie, was owned by a cultist named Kuwat, a member of the Eiye Confraternity. He is accused of being the main mastermind behind the recent brutal killing of a local barber and also managed to escape before security forces arrived. A third property in the Ogodomiza Area of Ibie-Nafe, belonging to another cult leader, was also levelled. Prior to its demolition, two young men—Momoh Austin, 17, and Joseph Oyazojo, 21—were arrested at the location. They confessed to being brought to the area to engage in cybercrime, commonly referred to as Yahoo Yahoo.

Authorities also conducted raids at the Hybrid Hotel and Suites in Elele, Uzairue, where additional suspects were taken into custody.

The government’s action follows the expiration of a 166-day grace period offered by Governor Monday Okpebholo for cultists to renounce their affiliations and accept offers of soft loans and skills acquisition training. That window was widely ignored, prompting the current crackdown.

John Izegaegbe, Secretary of the State Security Squad, stated during the demolition exercise: “The Governor gave 166 days of grace to all cultists to renounce, offering soft loans and skills training. That window was ignored. Now, desperate times call for desperate action. This demolition is a warning to all landlords and cultists, stay out of cultism or face the full wrath of the law.”

He confirmed that the demolished building in Auchi was directly connected to a murder committed earlier in the week. Another security official, Eribo Emwanta, issued a broader warning: “We are advising parents and hotel owners to be vigilant. We are cleaning out these communities, and hotels harbouring criminals are next.”

The operation signals the state’s strict enforcement of the Secret Cult and Similar Activities (Prohibition) Law 2025, which prescribes life imprisonment or a minimum of 21 years for cult membership. The law also stipulates that landlords who permit cult activities on their properties face at least ten years in prison, in addition to forfeiture and demolition of the building.

The Edo State Government has reaffirmed its zero-tolerance policy towards cultism and continues to carry out intelligence-led operations across the state. Citizens are encouraged to report suspicious activities to help security agencies restore safety to their communities.

As the clampdown continues, more properties with established links to cult activities are expected to be demolished, reinforcing the government’s declaration that there is no safe haven for cultists in Edo State.
