Methodology
To create our Global Spirituality Index, we analysed a variety of factors for every country in the world in order to take a holistic view of spirituality in every country. The elements we looked at included:

Religious Diversity
Religious Population

Within each of these categories every country was awarded a score from 1-7 (7 being the highest). We then totalled each country’s scores across these categories to find their Global Spirituality Index Score, with a total of 49 being the highest score available.

The countries have then been ranked by their Global Spirituality Index Score to create the Global Spirituality Index.

Canada was crowned as the most spiritual country in the world after ranking highly for quality of life and religious diversity as well as religious freedom, religious tolerance, spiritual sights and wellness.

Pastors promote spirituality in churches and other religious institutions through sermons and teachings. They organize regular services and may lead congregations who believe in a specific faith or who seek non-denominational worship. Pastors also counsel members, provide emotional support to other leaders and parishioners, visit sick people in hospitals, and assist the poor through outreach programs. Pastors may confer weddings, baptisms and funerals. Stress is inherent in this profession due to the serious nature of many situations and to the somewhat political aspects of the job.

How to Become a Pastor
You can take the following steps to become a pastor:

Step 1: Earn a Bachelor’s Degree

A career as a pastor begins with a 4-year degree. Popular majors for students who wish to pursue a career in religious leadership include Bible or pastoral studies, theology and ministry. Some programs offer bachelor’s degrees in specific ministerial areas, such as pastoral studies. Courses in the program cover topics in the Old and New Testament, theology, ethics, pastoral studies and sociology.






Be active in campus ministry. Colleges and universities may feature a campus ministry where students can worship and express their faith. Leading Bible study groups or helping within the community may be beneficial both spiritually and for graduate programs.

Step 2: Gain Experience

Pastors may begin their career as associate pastors. They’ll work under the supervision of a senior pastor at the church. While associate pastors may lead spiritual groups and be available for counseling during the week, they may conduct readings during services and perform sermons periodically.






Step 3: Complete a Master’s Degree Program

After the completion of a bachelor’s degree, pastoral students typically begin their graduate coursework at a seminary or School of Divinity. Aspiring pastors may follow a degree plan for a Master of Divinity (M.Div.), but other options may be available. The M.Div. program lasts 3 to 4 years depending on the amount of courses taken each semester. Courses are strictly focused on religious practices, Bible study and congregational leadership.






While all pastors study the Christian faith, additional courses based on the denomination of study may be offered. Most seminaries offer an apprenticeship-like program included in the master’s program that allows pastoral students to observe and practice their developing skills with an ordained pastor.

Step 4: Look for Senior Pastor Opportunities

Depending on pastors’ goals or the needs of a denomination, pastors may spend only a short time serving one congregation or serve one for many years. Typically, pastors are notified of job openings through postings from the denominational governing organization.

God’s timing is perfect, ours is often off. Insecurity and past hurts may not have been dealt with and can ruin relationships and only God can say when we are ready to love another romantically
God wants to be first in our lives and when we are actively seeking someone to love, we may be silently saying that his love is not enough and we are not content with serving and pleasing him alone; a relationship would be a distraction in this case and would draw you away from, not closer to, God
We are not trusting God to provide a mate for us, and we are not allowing him full control over our personal lives in determining whether or not we are to have a mate




If you do decide to date, ask God to lead you to the right individual and be sure you know what you are looking for in a mate and that they are biblically based traits, not mere personal preferences.

Make Boundaries a Basic and Christ the Center

Date with the intention of marriage and do not pursue any relationship before this is your intent. Make your boundaries known from the beginning and do not put yourself in bad situations, don’t underestimate the power of temptation. Remember that the spirit may be willing, but the flesh is weak (Matthew 26:41).





What are your boundaries? They aren’t a list of what you are and aren’t comfortable with, they should be biblically based and designed to honor God. While finding likeminded Christians with shared interests is ideal and can lead to great spiritual growth for you both, whomever you date should respect your faith and boundaries. The top issue for Christians as they begin dating is remaining pure. Even when dating another Christian, this can be a difficult task.





However, sex was created by God to be shared within the marriage relationship and it is in your best interest (whether you are a virgin or a born again virgin) to avoid being physically close with the person you are dating. Holding hands and sharing a brief hug can be satisfying as you spend time together and begin to care for one another. Avoid being alone, heavy petting and kissing, as these three things make up the recipe for sexual sin.

Don’t be ignorant to your fleshy desires, take them to God and pray together as a couple for his strength and blessing in your relationship as you face temptations and make decisions in your relationship as it develops.





Good Godly Date Ideas

Once you’ve met someone you’d like to get to know better and vice versa, here are some ways to have fun while courting each other:

Serve together within your church and community
Attend Church services and activities together
Join a bible study or book club
Go to a Christian concert together
Have a game night with another Christian couple
Have a movie night at home with another Christian couple (pick an appropriately rated movie, if not a Christian film!)
Explore a local museum
Chat at a coffeehouse
Go to a fair or carnival




If you won’t be double dating, consider having a chaperone accompany you and your date. Another option is to meet your date at your date locations (public places) and don’t linger after the date is done. Try to meet up during the day, afternoon or early evening.

Inviting your date on family outings is also a great way to spend time together, while in the presence of others, which lessens temptation.

Always behave as if Christ himself were your chaperone, because truthfully he is watching over your date!





Whether you choose to actively date or patiently wait for your God sent lover for life, remember that honoring God and your partner will bring blessings your way and into your relationship.

Falling in love can take time -as getting to know someone takes time and is the best way to determine if that person is right for you- but do treat each person you date with respect and love them in a Godly way even before you develop a more passionate love for them.

Torben Søndergaard and his family fled Denmark for America this year like refugees fleeing a war zone, leaving with only what they could carry in eight suitcases.

Torben is the founder of The Last Reformation, a worldwide movement which seeks to return Christianity to the Book of Acts. He also began the Jesus Center in Denmark, which trained disciples from 30 nations to spread this message around the world.

A Series of Attacks Against Him

Attacks against his ministry in Denmark began in 2016 when the Jesus Center was investigated by six different Danish government agencies for everything from food safety to unpaid taxes. Officials found nothing wrong.

Then last year, the government began to investigate their family when they began homeschooling. Then they put their daughter back into public school, but that didn’t stop the investigations.

But the worst was yet to come. Torben Søndergaard’s life and ministry would take a dramatic turn when Danish TV approached him and said it wanted to profile his ministry. It sounded like it could be very positive. It wasn’t.

Danish TV not only sent a film crew. Torben says they also sent two undercover reporters, one who said that he wanted to follow Jesus and was even baptized, and another who pretended to be mentally ill.

The resulting documentary on national TV, called “God’s Best Children,” lumped Torben in with other so-called “radical Christian” ministries that had had serious moral or ethical failures or even criminal activity.



Torben said, “When I saw that I was like, ‘I’m finished. No one will ever trust me again.'”

Portrayed as a Liar, Abuser, and a ‘Quack’

Torben watched in horror as he saw himself depicted on national TV as a liar, as an abuser of children and the mentally unstable through healings and so-called “exorcisms,” and as a quack who takes medicine away from the sick, something he says he has never done.

“I’ve been doing my ministry for 18 years. I never had a problem, I never had complaints,” Torben said. “Of course, there were misunderstandings. Maybe people got hurt and so on, like every other church and every other ministry. But when these programs started it just changed the whole atmosphere in Denmark. We were like, ‘We need to leave Denmark. This is not going to stop.'”

It didn’t.

Demands for a Police Investigation of Torben

Torben became a punching bag on Danish TV, as guests on news shows pushed for a new law against Christians who allegedly inflicted mental violence on children through healings and deliverance.

“They interviewed a state church priest talking about how we were evil people coming as a predator to find the weak animals who are sick and to eat them, and how we wanted to take people into the cult,” Torben said.



Then the demands grew in the media for Torben to be investigated for the crime of “quackery.”
“And I just saw that I was already guilty in the mind of the politicians,” Torben said, “I was already guilty in the mind of the people, for something I have nothing to do with.”

Friends Warn Torben to Leave Denmark

Torben was now a marked man, viewed as a dangerous person by many of his countrymen, worried that he would lose his children. During his final three weeks in Denmark, he says he never left his home.

He told us tearfully, “We had people starting to call us and say that, ‘You have to leave Denmark now because they’re not going to stop.’ They want to continue getting you down. So, we bought a ticket to America. Then two days later we have packed eight suitcases and we left with our kids to America. Two days later we packed eight suitcases and we left with our kids to America.”

“It was very stressful,” he added, “And now our [Jesus] center is closed. We had an 80,000 square feet center in Denmark is closed down. Our work is closed down. Everything is closed down.”

The Søndergaards have appealed to the US government for political asylum. Torben has testified in a sworn affidavit that if he is returned to Denmark, he risks being imprisoned and having his minor daughter removed from their family.

Awaiting an Asylum Decision

The Danish Press Council has ruled that Torben was misled by the journalists who made the documentary. But there is no government agency in Denmark that can give Torben his reputation back or guarantee his freedom if he returns.


Torben now waits to see if his asylum request will be approved, and says he dreams of starting a Jesus Center like the one in Denmark here in America.

“I also have a message to people in America, that we need to be prepared. We need to be alert,” Torben said, “to say that this would never happen in America. That is a lie. I have said the same [about] Denmark.”
