Facebook Lite app sneaks up on Play Store
Facebook has employed a rather odd approach to
the mobile market and it seems to be betting on
quantity, rather than quality for quite some time
now. When the social media giant decided to detach
the messenger from its main application, thus
making it all that less appealing to most users it
sparked an avalanche of complaints with a lot of
subscribers rage-quitting on the main app.
Facebook surely must have felt the negative
consequences and while initially it seemed like a
good enough marketing step to promote the
messenger itself the detrimental effect have
apparently caught on as a new application has
silently made its way to the Google Play Store. It is
essentially a lightweight version of the social
platform that aims to offer services to low-end
devices at faster speeds and best of all, with lower
bandwidth.
The tiny app weighs only 252KB and is very
reminiscent of zero Facebook, only running natively
on the Android platform instead of inside a browser.
Even though Facebook Lite is officially marketed as
a compromise solution for low-end devices that can
not handle the “full experience” its appeal stretches
far beyond that to almost anybody fed up with the
resource-hungry app.
Officially the Lite client is only available for
Bangladesh, Nepal, Nigeria, South Africa, Sudan, Sri
Lanka, Vietnam and Zimbabwe, which is all but fair
given that they are all developing markets and an
Android One style of approach is truly necessary.
Still if you manage to get your hands on the APK
you should also be able to enjoy a simpler Facebook
experience, just like in the good old days.

Xiaomi laptop leaks with specs
Posted on December 29, 2014
Xiaomi has had a tremendous 2014, save for a few
hiccups that the end. The company finally stepped
out of China and is already a big name in the new
markets it ventured in. It also launched its first ever
tablet, the Mi Pad this year which still happens to be
one of the best budget slates around.
It appears as though the success of this tablet has
encouraged Xiaomi to make its very own laptop.
There are talks of another Xiaomi phone for next
month, which will most probably be a Redmi Note
successor (or another flagship?), and a possible
Xiaomi Mi 5 for later next year.
According to the source, the laptop will have a 15-
inch 1920 x 1080p display along with an Intel i7 chip
and a massive 16GB RAM. It is tipped to be priced
only at 2,999 CNY or US$480, which sounds like
quite a bargain — like every other Xiaomi product.
As was the case with the Mi Pad, leaks started well
in advance to the actual launch, which could be the
case here also. If you were to ask me, I wouldn’t
really bet my money on a Xiaomi laptop for the next
6 months at least, but then you never know.

true o

Mehn! Thl 5000 is a good phone, but the price...

Oh! am tired of waiting o. When are they going to release this beautiful phone? I don't want to buy 1g ram phone, otherwise I would have gone for doogee dg850 that is about to be released now. Jiayu f2 price, specifications and quality really enticed me. We should exercise patience. Bbm, Facebook messenger, in fact all Android applications are ram sucker. I must go for this f2. I know it won't pass January.
