Chelseafan1:When you add the bulk of the money Madrid and Barca take add it together with the one of English top 6 it can never be equivalent, imagine any team the wins championship play off get 150 million pounds even Sevilla can't see such money and won't lift ucl yet the English club that gets it is still below par... England is about money that's why their national team is poor in euros and world cup |
Chelseafan1:Only money helped epl give half of the money epl teams get for winning nothing to la Liga small teams and see miracle.... Athletico Madrid has been winning Chelsea the epl big team and Sevilla slaughtered Liverpool and you saying trash |

The Supreme Court on Thursday fixed May 25 to hear application for the withdrawal of appeal filed against the National Chairman of the PDP, Ali Sheriff. Ahmed Makarfi, Chairman of the National Caretaker Committee of PDP, had approached the apex court to challenge the affirmation of Mr. Sheriff as National Chairman of the party. Justice Dattijo Mohammed fixed the date after counsel to parties regularised their various court processes. The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the two factions have laid claims to the national leadership of the party. The tussle later took parties to the Court of Appeal, Port Harcourt Division where Mr. Sheriff was affirmed as the authentic national chairman of the party. Dissatisfied with the appellate court’s decision, the Makarfi-led faction approached the apex court seeking the upturning of the decision of the lower court. However, Lateef Fagbemi, counsel to the first respondent (PDP) had challenged the ground upon which the Makarfi-faction appealed against the decision of the lower court. His ground was that by virtue of the judgment of the Appeal Court, Mr. Makarfi no longer had any right to enter an appeal in the name of the party without Mr. Sheriff’s consent. “The issue is simple; the party is not interested in appealing against the national chairman of the party, so, we shall be withdrawing the pending appeal. “So far, the judgment has not been set aside and no order for stay of execution has been obtained by Makarfi-led group. “There is a judgment at the Court of Appeal that recognised Sheriff as the authentic chairman of the party’’, he said. Supporting the argument canvassed by Mr. Fagbemi, counsel to Mr. Sherriff, Akin Olujimi, said the court should decide the motion for withdrawal filed by PDP before entertaining any other appeals. On his part, Wole Olanipekun, counsel to Mr. Makarfi submitted that the court reserved the right to approach the case from any direction. According to him, the stage is now set for the case to kick-off as all the processes have been turned in. He also said counsel to parties must reserve their energies by not making attempts to enter into the substantive matter. http://www.premiumtimesng.com/news/top-news/230390-sheriff-vs-makarfi-supreme-court-fixes-may-25-entertain-pdps-appeal.html |

The Failed War against Corruption: Is it Corruption fighting back or Hypocrisy fighting back? The war against corruption is in coma. Those in bed with the administration are accusing the judiciary and the Legislature of sabotaging the effort of President Buhari in winning the war. Is that really the case? The common phrase they use whenever the government is defeated in court is that “corruption is fighting back.” How true is this? My understanding is that “hypocrisy is fighting back” and it is doing that big time. Corruption has many components and many people have failed to appreciate this fact. A few examples will suffice: When Gen. Buhari reversed his publicly declared intention not to contest the 2015 presidential election, he simply committed “character corruption” which drained a huge part of his integrity away from him. When Gen. Buhari told us that he borrowed money to purchase the nomination form and gave a picture of a man of limited economic means but declared huge estate to his name in his asset declaration form, this is another character corruption. In the two scenarios above, people hypocritically clapped and defended him. When the Army Chief declared ownership of real estate in Dubai worth millions of Dollars, the President and the anticorruption agencies kept mute. The Chief of Staff to the President was accused of receiving over N500m in bribe from MTN, anticorruption agencies kept mute and we clapped. When the Secretary to the Government of the Federation spent over N2.5bn to cut grass in IDPs and awarded contracts to himself, the President and the agencies kept sealed lips. Hypocrisy won. Nigerians may be docile but they are not fools. Nigerians would have rallied round the President to confront individuals or groups sabotaging his efforts if he had shown necessary political biceps to deal with those closest to him. My conclusion is that what is fighting back is hypocrisy not corruption. If hypocrisy is dealt with, corruption will not have any ground to fight back. Last Line: ignore those making noise all over the place accusing the judiciary and the legislature of sabotaging the anticorruption war. They will condemn the EFCC tomorrow if their political leaders are processed for corruption. |
