dkolu: quite an interesting thread you got here, i just feel i should say one or two things and clarify some things about ui admission especially on "change of course". one thing you need to know when changing your course is that you are not guaranteed automatic admission just because your score is above the cut-off used during the merit list admission. as a matter of fact the cut-off point used during the merit list admission becomes irrelevant due to the fact that there is limited space and many people are jostling for this limited space. hence, depending on the number of applicant and the number of spaces available the cut off point might go up or come down(but i can tell u its very rare for the cut off point to come down).apart from the limited spaces,there is also the consideration of staff children (ui staff, children are given some concessions in the admission process during change of course ). finally you have the "man know man" aspect but this is very rare and the person must be a top official probably a prof. or HOD of the dept. in essence what i am saying is that because you have a higher score than the previous cut-off point used in the merit list does not mean you will be admitted into that dept/course. but rather a new cut-off mark will be determined based on the new applicant and the available space. its this new cut off mark that will be used to determine who will be admitted. wish all of you the best in your studies

Akby: On a more serious the email of a thing is not a determinant of ur admission for the 2nd batch. After everybody recieved email from UI then, i got mine like a week later and i was a bit depressed then. Once u fill ur forms online, all emails submitted are being cached and the institution sends email to the potential students in batches. Some might receive today, some tomorrow while some in a week depending. Also I could remember when the schl texted us to Acceptance filling online whereas we've done it before then. Just exercise some patience and wait for urs too come. I think d emails are being forwarded to students with high probability of admission or those admitted already can't really say. Just pray and see how things unfold... Certainly Oluwa is involve

potmeetskettle: If it is an advertised course that has the 54 UMEquota. Then Yes, 54 will be admitted or maybe more will be added to leave the school to their maximum students required

potmeetskettle: History has only 19 UME Quota, (14) scored up to 50 and (5) scored 47 to 49. That (5) are the UME spaces and not the vacant spaces. So dear, I think there's hope. To be sure of what I wrote, those courses advertised for change of course, add their "UME spaces" to "No that scored 50" and see it will give you the number to "UME quotas". Also check IGBO where "No scored up to 50%" is 0 out of the 4 that sat for the exam, from the 4 candidates only 1 candidate scored 38% whilst the remaining scored 42%, 44% 47%. And 40% to 49% is known to be the consideration score in a department. So now 38% is left-out and that made 3 their UME quotas and UME spaces, since 0 is the number that scored 50%. Ok now lets do the maths- UME space 3 + 0 number that scored 50% = 3 UME quota. Try it with other advertised courses. Islamic religious for example.
Note: Only the advertised courses can be calculate thus, as the non-advertised courses will give you otherwise.
