Phones / "Final" Schematics Leak For Apple Iphone 7s Plus And Apple Iphone 8 by ISKANDER17TH: 11:45pm On Jun 10, 2017
So much focus has been put on the 10th anniversary Apple iPhone model that has been dubbed the iPhone 8, that not much has been said about the two other units that will accompany the premium handset. Today, two schematics have surfaced that are reportedly the final drawings for the Apple iPhone 7s Plus and the Apple iPhone 8. These diagrams are believed to be employed in the production of the two phones.

Starting with the Apple iPhone 8, the dimensions are 143.4 x 70.77 x 7.51 mm not including the dual-camera bump on the rear. As we've seen with other images, the iPhone 8 will feature an edge-to-edge OLED display, and there is a vertically mounted dual-camera setup in back. If this image is legit and up to date, it would appear that Touch ID will be embedded under the front screen. After all, there is no sign of a button on back or in the front. An Apple supply chain analyst who sells information to brokerage house analysts, said earlier this week that Touch ID will be found under the front glass on the iPhone 8.

As for the Apple iPhone 7s Plus, the partial dimensions are 158.38 x 78.1 mm. That compares to the 158.2 x 77.9 mm for the Apple iPhone 7 Plus. The back and front of the phone will look the same as the current iPhone 7 Plus down to the horizontally placed, rear-facing dual-camera setup.

A render of the Apple iPhone 8 can also be found in the slideshow, along with the two schematics themselves. Despite talk of a delay, the latest word is that Apple is still on target to introduce the 2017 iPhone models in September.[/justify]

Phones / Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Might Be Announced In Late August, Ahead Of The Iphone 8 by ISKANDER17TH: 11:34pm On Jun 10, 2017
The moment Samsung unveiled its Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+, the rumors for its next flagship started pouring in. Most of the reports claim that the Galaxy Note 8 will be coming with a dual-camera setup, and a rather big 6.3-inch edge-to-edge screen.

However, if the Note 8 does indeed feature 6.3-inch display, and it retains the 9:18.5 aspect ratio, introduced with Samsung's current flagships, there will not be much that will differentiate it from the Galaxy S8+. Samsung might have to pack a lot of extra features to make the Note 8 relevant, especially considering that the device is rumored to come with the same type of Infinity Display as the Galaxy S flagships.

We can safely assume that Samsung knows what it's doing though, especially considering that according to latest rumors, it's planning to unveil its new Galaxy Note in late August. This will put its announcement ahead of that of the new iPhone 8, which should give Samsung a bit of an edge in the race against its main competitor.

Usually, Samsung announces its new Notes at IFA, one of the biggest expos for consumer electronics. This year, the show will start on 1 September, so it's very likely that the South Korean tech behemoth will officially unveil its Galaxy Note 8 a day or two before that, and offer consumers a hands-on experience at IFA.

Only time will tell whether or not the new rumor is true, but it certainly sounds plausible.

Phones / Samsung Galaxy Note 8 To Be Powered By The Snapdragon 836 Chipset? by ISKANDER17TH: 11:24pm On Jun 10, 2017
The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 could be unveiled in August. The other day, one of the big questions surrounding the phablet might have been answered by an unnamed Samsung executive. The latter reportedly told a Korean publication that the fingerprint scanner for the device will not be embedded under the screen. This news has yet to show up on Note 8 renders, most of which fail to show a rear-facing fingerprint button similar to what is found on the Samsung Galaxy S8 and Samsung Galaxy S8+.

While the Galaxy Note 8 has long been rumored to be powered by the Snapdragon 835 chipset, a new rumor suggests that it will be the first phone to sport the Snapdragon 836 chipset inside. The buzz around the water cooler is that the Snapdragon 836 will have a maximum CPU core speed of 2.5GHz, up from the current 2.45GHz clock speed on the 825. In addition, the enhanced SoC will feature a GPU running at 740MHz.

After the Galaxy Note 8, we should see the Snapdragon 836 SoC powering the unannounced LG V30, and the next Pixel models. Qualcomm did something similar last year when it made small changes to the Snapdragon 820 and released it as the Snapdragon 821 chipset.

The next top-of-the-line chipset expected to come from Qualcomm is the rumored Snapdragon 845. Reportedly, this will first be found inside the LG G7 as a way to pay back the manufacturer for whatever role it might have had in allowing Samsung to have the first shot at the Snapdragon 835. The LG G6 is powered by the Snapdragon 821 even though it was released slightly before the Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+.
