@spy360 and Blueraydick stop arguing over what there's no clear cut answer. One of the reasons Steven Gerrard was being hailed back then by Pele was his ability to play almost as deep as a defensive midfielder and up forward almost like a supporting striker. Sometimes he'd slide to the wings and deliver pull outs even David Beckham would marvel at. It's all about athleticism, skill, versatility etc.
The modern day football demands you be more than a one trick pony and the philosophy of your coach matters too. Technically Ozil is one of the best midfielders in the world right now but let him make it into Arteta's midfield let's see now.
Ask most modern coaches for their their list of top ten number 9s and Bobby Firminho will feature in virtually all. That one I'm still trying to understand though I get their point.

Godx:
Kepa 70million nobody cares if you panic or not

Vinicus 17yrs old for 45million

Van Dijk 70milion was absolutely insane at that time

Pepe 70million a stupid fee

Joao Felix 120million

Lemar 71million

Wolves just signed a portuguese striker for 41million with just 3 goals Last season.

Your bias against english players being overpriced have no foundation when every player nowadays his going for crazy fees
There's no bias there. It's a well known fact that English players are expensive and the EPL pays the highest salaries in world football.

Then they should sell off the club to people who actually know how to make money. People actually want to buy gunnersaurus toys and can't find them. What does that tell you ?

True ozil is a bad blood, but he can always come in to help especially when we need goals.
I read an un-named EPL club is going for kondobia I have a feeling it's us for 25m
Another player we have to settle for. No offense.

BlueRayDick:
I agree with you on the bold; I don't see Ozil playing for Arsenal in the nearest future or ever again sef. His reintegration into the team I believe will distabilize the team. They should either pay him off or offer him as loan for the rest of contract years.

As for Jorginho ehn, I just don't know what they intend doing with that guy; I mean we have been complaining how Xhaka exposes our defence because he is not a true DM....Now it is Jorginho that offers no defensive cover whatsoever we want to now get to compete with him in that same positio; No be juju be that ?
The banter alone sef. We already have Willian, if you bring Jorginho then what's next , Tammy Abraham ? undecided

We need AM badly as we struggle to create chances.
Saka should take over the LW, nketiah is not ready too many on and off he doesn't know how to position.
I think ozil should be recalled,
this team and Arteta should not be suffering for the useless board incompetence to buy players.
Hmm, I don't know about this one. It could have serious consequences on the team. Since Ozil stopped playing, have we been getting better results or not, why change a winning formula ? Bale was probably the most gifted player in Madrid last season but we know how that ended. Madrid won the league with games to spear with him on the bench.

As for transfer window, if nothing from Arteta's wishlist is gotten then I don't expect any real improvement from last season. May be just fewer losses an a place or two up the table. I'm beginning to suspect that they want to force that Jorginho rubbish down his throat with International transfer window closing today.

Yes bro.
Ozil to me is just acting what he will regret later. Not playing for a year can lead to the end of his career as he will lose competitive form considering his age.

As for Tor moving on is the best decision for him. I just can't put my head round why he cannot meet Arteta's team.
You know!! If Elneny can start for Arsenal in PL , I mean ....
I don't know what standards Arteta is using to select his players but it seems kind of mysterious to me. Na like so Pep arrive city and end Yaya Toure career.

"If you want to shoot, shoot, don't talk". Classic line from one of the all time great movies (which I have never completely watched).
We have been talking about signing this guy for a month , a whole month. If it's true that PSG have highjacked this deal then there's no one to blame but the Arsenal team.

He missed a lot of chances yesterday but he is still our top scorer. If he can maintain one goal per game it won't be a bad record irrespective of his misses.
That's the thing, he CANT maintain it. He has been here longer than Auba but you know who has got more goals. You can't measure effectiveness of a goal getter after 3 games.
It's not like I'm saying he's less important to the team, but there are games where Auba will be blocked out and he has to rise to the occasion. Yesterday Sallah didn't score too but someone else was there to do the job.

I didn't say we don't need midfield na. I just told u that teams with better midfield than Arsenal's lost against loserpool last season.

Watford and Arsenal that handed them defeat last season didn't have the Best midfield in the league yet they wọn against them. We lost because Arteta's tactics were found out by Klopp.

The match I watched today was lost at the tactics table.
I agree with you to an extent but not about being found out. Every team in the Premiership playing against Leicester and Vardy know exactly what game to expect but try stopping them and see.
I'm not the type to bash players for having a semi good day on the pitch but I think Laca missing those key chances after those counters cost us the game. The game was excellent at half time, only a goal down. Liverpool were not going to be as mobile as they were in the first, so every opportunity we got was going to be key.
Arteta wanted to play it like Leicester with the fast breaks, unfortunately for us Laca isn't Vardy-esque.

D country is a laughing stock. My friends in the US talk abt how Nigeria has become an object of ridicule and jokes.
Even on sitcoms you'll hear jokes about Nigeria these days.

You don't want them to sell their fuel?

If they start producing more Electricity in Nigeria, who will buy the over-priced petrol and kerosene?
Jokes apart it's boils down to incompetence at all levels of government. Ghana is not much bigger than Lagos in terms of Population. How are they producing more electricity than Nigeria ? The Distance between Lagos and Ghana is almost the same as to Abuja. These people are not from another continent, they're like us, almost same date of independence but with
even less natural resources.
PoliticsGhana Now Produces More Electricity Than Nigeria: It's Govt Has To Pay For Exces by iskoki(op): 5:45pm On Sep 23, 2020
Nigeria produces less than 5,000 MW. Infact the complain is that Ghana which has almost the same population as some states in Nigeria is producing too much electricity that the govt has to pay for the excess.
Is this not enough evidence to tell you that we're governed by cows and goats in Nigeria ?

The installed capacity according to the Energy Commission of Ghana is 5,083 MW, almost double the peak demand of 2,700 MW. Of this, 2,300 MW has been contracted
