As the world celebrates the World Refugee Day, a legal practitioner and Peace Scholar Abiola Ruth Adimula has called on Nigerian government to make more proactive measure to ensure good health facilities, provision of welfare items and economic empowerment of internally displaced people. She who stated this in a press statement personally signed on Saturday and obtained by THESOURCEnews said, that is very important for the government to empowered them to be self-reliance in other to contribute their quota in the society. According to United Nation High Commissioner for Refugee, UNHCR Filippo Grandi said that there are 65.3 million forcibly displaced people around the world, More than 21 million of these people are refugees and 10 million are stateless. Adimula expressed worry over condition of IDPs in Nigeria amidst of COVID-19, "there are deep concerns among internally displaced persons in the north-eastern region of Maiduguri over the spread of the coronavirus, thousands of displaced people are crammed into state-controlled camps". A motorcyclist in Ikoromaja community, Atakumosa East Local Government Area of Osun State, Mr Folohunso Ilori has been alleged of threatening to kill his ex-wife, Kikelomo Ilori after chasing her from his house and seized properties worth N1.5 million. TheSource gathered that (Kikelomo), a mother of six earlier had three kids from her former husband and later had a relationship with Mr Ilori that resulted in another three children. Kikelomo, who hails from Iwaraja in the same local government stated that she moved out of her husband's house with the six kids after a misunderstanding. She however lamented how unsuccessful efforts to retrieve her belongings from Mr Ilori has been. Members of the People’s Democratic Party Osun State chapter have called on National Working Committee to settle the differences within the party in Osun as local government election approached. This was contained in a statement signed by Hon. Raji Saheed, and made available to pressmen on Monday, the members under the aegis of PDP Young Democrats lamented that in what looks like a replay of the ugly events of 2014 that led to bitter and irreconcilable differences, a series of events before, during and after 2018 elections confirmed that the leadership and members of the PDP are not speaking with one voice. Anxiety as another female undergraduate student has been raped and murdered at Sasa area of Ibadan, the Oyo State capital. The victim was identified as Grace Oshiagwu, a National Diploma (ND) I student of Oke Ogun Polytechnic, Saki, Oyo State. The latest killing came after 18-year old Barakat Bello and 29-year old Azeezat Shomuyiwa were murdered in Akinyele area of the city in the last two weeks. Oshiagwu, 21, was reportedly raped and killed yesterday at her parents’ residence around Idi Ori, Sasa. In a statement by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Olugbenga Fadeyi, the command said its teams had swung into action on the incident. But Fadeyi did not confirm that she was raped. The statement read: “One Grace Oshiagwu ‘f’ aged 21 years was macheted on her head in a church mission building at Idi-ori Area Shasha off expressway by unknown assailant (s) on Saturday, June 13th about 3.00 pm”. The police chief in the US city of Atlanta resigned after an officer fatally shot a black man during an arrest, the mayor said, with the new killing injecting fresh anger into protests against racism and police brutality. Demonstrators blocked an interstate highway and set alight the Wendy’s restaurant where 27-year-old Rayshard Brooks was killed late Saturday, local media reported.
