@all hv been invited for medicals
@Ayodele special thanks for all the advice
@chuks94 U applied early June right? Well i applied May 27th, not too far from ur app date. If ur application is intact, u should be contacted soonest. Watching the trend with which people are getting invitations on this forum, its mostly First come First Serve. Worry not man.
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada by isOSavvy(m): 12:56am On Aug 05, 2011
@bashtee In ANY EVENTUALITY the 120K is non refundable. No chicken flu can change that. Number 1 reason for VISA denial? Sponsorship details and supporting documents. Get that as well as other requirements and you really don't need to spend so much. Then again depends on how much spare time you have and your ability to look out for expensive mistakes in your app.
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada by isOSavvy(m): 12:12am On Aug 05, 2011
@bashtee The 3k(Not sure if its 3k or 2k)USD is when the application goes through and u get ur VISA. What u pay upfront is 120KNaira for processing. All they do is make sure your application is well packaged. If you have the time and patience to do this by yourself then there would be no need for them.

@ tolualds Congrats! getting an invitation for medicals this early(compared to us who haven't been replied) means you will most likely wrap up the whole process sooner than later.

U applied sometime bout 16th May right? Well i applied a bit later lets see how the story goes for me ey,  But the show aint over till the fat Lady sings
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada by isOSavvy(m): 10:47pm On Aug 03, 2011
@Cuddlemii Congrats O. Alberta is now in Sight!

This is taking much longer than i expected, Submitted 27th May for Sept  start date . I see people here who submitted much earlier and they still haven't been replied.

Just like chukie94 Ive got back up plans, but the show aint over till the fat Lady sings!

@Chukie94 am feeling u on this man. The whole thing is like one endless Chinese soap opera.  I say we wait for season finale! Following this episode by episode is nerve racking at the very least

Going for instrumentation eng tech. How bout you?
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada by isOSavvy(m): 3:25pm On Jul 28, 2011
@Cuddlemii  Yeah i paid the 300CAD that's how i indicated interest. They want me to pay the first installment ASAP despite my pending  application.  They are saying the cash will be refunded if things don't go right with my Permit. Well i am a lil reluctant bout parting with my 2900CAD just yet.  Going for East Hall.

^ Well i indicated interest earlier in securing a space at SAIT residence. They've been on my neck ever since telling me spaces are limited, they'll give out my space if i don't make payment soon, yada yada yada. Just wanted to know if they are this emphatic with everyone else.
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada by isOSavvy(m): 12:51pm On Jul 28, 2011
@ALL Awating applicants, as long as submitted documents are complete and meet the requirements, i believe we have little to worry about

@Cuddlemii You are hopefully heading for Calgary this Sept right? Just wondering if SAIT Residence has been sending you mails on available spaces

@ iso savvy, I feel that a sudden increase in the account statement these dying minutes(heard deadline for submission of VISA related documents for fall is 2nd or 3rd week of April ) ,

o boy why u dey give us high BP, I KNOW YOU CAN APPLY LIKE 3 MONTHS prior to your start date, so when did they start having a dead line of the date.if you no dey sure of something, abeg confirm,,,,,,,cos this dem say dem say, no good for us and come to think of it, who said the dead line was 2nd week or 3 week of april cos to the best of my knowledge its 3months prior to start date, ABI HOUSE I LIE
@ ALL sorry about the wrong info. Like i said earlier, i just got my admission letter and i am still gathering the facts about the whole process. That deadline is apparently for Mapl Edu Clients in PH, my friend is a client of theirs.

@cindel07

I guess we are kinda like in the same boat. I came to the forum looking for detailed information about who could be an eligible sponsor.

Based on what i have gathered from post associated with this topic , you will not have much of a problem if there is a solid proof of relationship. If he is your mum's brother for instance i suppose you could show some documentation where your mum's maiden name is used.

From what i have assembled it also seems like the closer the person is to you biologically, the more logical it would seem, to the embassy, for such a person to be your sponsor. That being said, it is also possible for distant  relatives and even unrelated persons to sponsor you, however a very strong case has to be made under such circumstances to show your connection wtih such persons and why they would want to invest so much in your education. Keep in mind that the embassy has had numerous experiences with people presenting arbitrary account statements just to get a student VISA. In other to distinguish yourself, you have got to be very well packaged(Supporting documents, convincing line of argument and all).

At this point i would like to play the cool guy and tell you to let me know if you have anymore questions but emm, dats not gonna happengrin lol I really dont know no much about this topic. Ive simply rephrased the information i got from Nairalanders who are much more experienced on this thread.

All the best Bro

@Cuddlemii

Yeah, SAIT seems like the right place for skills acquisition. I'm in for the diploma program. Thanks for the encouragement, I'm trying so hard not to give up.
Building up your mum's account is certainly a smart way 2 go.  For someone like me tough it may not work in my favour since i did not start early. I feel that  a sudden increase  in the account statement these dying minutes(heard deadline for submission of VISA related documents for fall is 2nd or 3rd week of April ) may raise eyebrows at the Embassy. I may have to talk to a relation of mine who bears the same surname with me. if things work out, will c ya over there eh!

@Ayoalade

I sent you a mail on this issue, would really appreciate your input. Thanks

Hi Everyone, I have been given admission to SAIT polytechnic Canada. I graduated with an Engineering degree and i feel that the Technical training from SAIT will improve my career prospects as an Engineer.

Issue now is the interview with the Canadian Embassy. I have gotten all the requirements for the interview except 1--- an acceptable bank statement. I was initially trying to  use the account statement of my Guardian who is not directly related to me. A few people told me that if we are not related legally(adopted,God father or Mother, Employer) or biologically, i may be denied the VISA simply because there is no authentic proof of relationship.
Is this really so? Cant my guardian just swear an affidavit that she has been the one financially catering for me all this while? your comments would be highly appreciated
