A drunk Taxify driver was, today, arrested in Lekki, Lagos, for harassing a corps member who booked his ride at African Lane estate.

It was gathered that trouble started when the rider told the driver to move his car seat forward for her comfort. The issue later degenerated to name calling, with the suspect calling her a prostitute.

It got worse when she started making a video, as the driver tried snatching her phone and insisting that the video must be deleted. The lady’s effort to book another ride also proved abortive, as the man prevented her from leaving the scene.

Residents of the estate later intervened when the driver started issuing death threats. However, he was eventually picked up by the policemen called to intervene.

A student from the University of Zululand has been killed reportedly by his roommate after an argument broke out between the two of them on Sunday over a girl.

The suspect was assaulted by a mob of students after the incident and he has sustained some serious injuries.

KwaZulu-Natal police spokesperson Thembeka Mbele said: “He has been arrested while a police guard is in hospital.”

A family was shocked when two 5ft carpet pythons dropped through their ceiling in Brisbane, Australia.

The snakes were having a fight at the time and the horrified family did well to stay away from it. They called professionals to take the snakes away and when the snake catcher arrived, she was surprised by what she saw and decided to film it.

Snake catcher Lana Field, who works for Snake Catchers Brisbane, concluded the animals had been beefing over a female snake.

She added they would often fight for the chance to mate with a female reptile once they both caught a whiff of her. Duels can last for hours but this one was cut short when the snake catchers arrived.

The animals have been released back into the wild.
