Crime / Please Beware Of Frauds Like This. by IT9ja4lyf: 11:57am On Aug 02, 2016
I would have posted this yesterday.
A guy called me yesterday morning on my way to the office with his number encrypted,"Unknown number."I took the call, greeted and asked who I was speaking with. The guy ,playfully, asked don't I recognise his voice? So I replied, your number is hidden. He said that he was calling from abroad and asked how many of my friends are abroad.I replied that I have so many friends abroad. He said he was calling from dubai. I tried to play smart, thinking its one of my friend (Nonso) in dubai,I shouted Noski longest time.He replied,"How far? you don't even recognise my voice again." He said he wanted to discuss something very important with me.I told him I was on my way to the office that he should call me in ten minutes time and that I should be in the office at that time.

I finally got to the office and his call came in.I picked the call and he told me that he sent a package of which I'm the beneficiary through a friend,Dr david by name.He lamented on how he was able to clear all the charges necessary to ship the packages to Nigeria. He said the content of the package was 10 plasma TV and that he hid $45,000 in one of the packages with a blue color carton. He asked of the bank I was using and I told him Gtbank. He replied,"Thats the best bank over there in Nigeria." He told me to put the money in my account and this is between him,me,god, and the trust he has on me.He said that David arrived Nigeria last week Thursday and has been trying to reach me.He sent me David's phone number, 08101799531, and told me to call him now.I foolishly rushed out of the office to purchase MTN #200 airtime with which to call David.

I recharged my phone and called David; He picked and I explained who I was.He told me he was so sorry that he tried contacting me on thursday before travelling to the village but my number wasn't going through, also that there's no network in his village. He said that nonso's,my mistakenly assumed friend, package is with Global cargo delivery services at No 24 apapa wolf Lagos and that I should call the Director,Mrs blesing Onola by name, and gave me her phone number,09035428079.He said I should tell that the name of the sender is Mr Nonso, also that the name of the beneficiary is (my name). He told me to go to a lone zone inorder to write down the security cargo number and cargo password. The security cargo number he gave to me was NS/220/228/NG/2016WA and the cargo password was nonso2016wa. He said I should call the lady immediately, even with apology because I was supposed to have cleared the package.

While all these were happening very fast,I called the lady and explained myself. She asked me of the sender's name, security cargo number, cargo password, the house address where the package would be delivered and my preferred form of identifiation.I still foolishily sent her my house address and told her I would prefer international passport. She told me there were uncleared charges on the package and that the package must be shifted today else they will send it back to Dubai. She said I must make a deposit of NGN365,500 before 11a.m yesterday. My mistakenly assumed friend called me with his unknown number again and asked how everything was going. I told him about the NGN365,500,so he said the reason why its that high is because of deumourage. He asked me how much I was with.I told him NGN50,000, trying to play smart and thnking I could raise the money from some folks, whereas the money in my account is not even up to NGN10,000.He said I should call the lady and tell her that I'll be depositing NGN50,000 before 11a.m yesterday and that I'll give her $2,000 when the package arrives.

Smilling sheepishly,I called the lady and told her what my mistakenly assumed friend told me.she agreed and told me to be very fast with it. Folks, I decided to flash my mistakenly assumed friend using his foreign number on my contact list.Behold, his phone rang and I immediately terminated the call.I went on watsapp to send him a message. On clicking his profile, I saw recording audio and waited for him to finish.I played the audio and he said he has been busy since morning that we will talk later in the evening around 6:30.Shortly the mistakenly assumed friend called me and was asking how everything was going. At this point I knew something was already going wrong.I still played friendly inorder to squeeze out their bank details.I called the lady immediately and told her to send the bank details for the deposit that I'm already at the bank. She sent this account detail:Acct Name:NASIRU WASIU TUNDE, Acct Num : 0222509728 , Gtbank
.

Right now,I've confirmed that the mistakenly assumed friend is a fraud when I finally chatted with the real Nonso in dubai. I felt so obligated to share this.I love Nigeria. One love.Thank you so much seun for creating this value adding avenue.

Nairalanders, I already know about the CAC processing fee but I really need help on certifications that are required to start a software consulting firm?. My friends application was cancelled because his certifications are not up to the requirement needed and the money he spent was not refunded. This will also help a lot of people who wants to venture into software industry . Thanks
