Oga, both use INEC resources. Money, personnel, time, logistics, etc. By the way, Buhari is not signing that shit, because it is not sustainable. Party primaries are private parties affairs, not FG affair. Please, read the Electoral Act as amended. I know you have not seen it, but to help you just search for section 87 of the amended act. It will cure your ignorance.
Leave them to continue crying. President has said his own. Remove that clause of compulsory direct primaries and send the bill back to the president. E no hard

I still insist that you lack education. That is your problem. Firstly, go back and read the report. It states ...“During the amendment of the Electoral Act, we met with the National Assembly but the issue of direct primary was never discussed. We discussed electronic transmission of results, electronic voting, Diaspora voting and other issues. It was at the point of the adoption of the report that the direct primary was added to the bill.". Those were from INEC. If you were knowledgeable, you would have kmown your ppints are useless.
First you are arguing about cost. There are bout 20 parties that regularly participate in elections out of about 92 registered parties. How can INEC conduct 20 primaries? For just one office? Oh, you do not know there are about 8700 wards in Nigeria and each needs atleast 2 INEC reptesentatives for direct primaries.
Your senseless arguement on open ballot and Anambra APC shows you lack knowledge. For your information, APC Lagos used open ballot in 2019, Anambra APC used Open Ballots in 2020, Edo APC used open ballot in 2020. Even in 2019, Buhari was nominated via open ballot. All 4 mentioned produced results that were not sustainable in real elections. In fact fictitious or fake. In Lagos Sanwolu got about 950k votes, but in actial elections, he was struggling to get 700k, where are the 200k card carrying members? Fictitious! In Anambra Andy Uba was awarded 200k votes at the direct primaries. In the elections he got about 42K. Where are other 158k? Ficticious. In 2015, Buhari got 25m in direct primaroes conducted by APC. In the actual elections, he got only 15m. Where are 10m card carrying members? Ficticious! You do not know these because of you cheap diploma obtained in one backyard school. Please go get education and stop abusing your generation. Anyway, it is in your culture couple with your half education, it is obvious you will be hydra-headed.
Oga, you have sense. School this people. They want manufactured results. Lol. Direct primaries can not curb election fraud. It's stressful, costly, and las las, same result as indirect. These people should stop making noise

After all, the president you are advising got his 2019 ticket via the direct primaries cheesy cheesy cheesy cheesy cheesy

Abegi. Even with the millions spent, credible elections in naija is a facade. You say direct primaries is the best, right? Who's stopping you from doing direct in your party? If your party members decide to do direct, the electoral bill doesn't kick against it. Enforcing it as the ONLY method of selecting candidates is the issue. It shouldn't be mandatory.

Direct primaries don't necessarily need to be open ballot system, except the national assembly included this clause. The main issue is that an election must take place for all members to vote instead of imposing candidates via indirect and general consensus routes. If there is open ballot system there compulsorily, the president can ammend it. But if you still.maintsin your stand, kindly provide a concrete evidence. So, stop spreading falsified info.

Is the cost on your head? Is the cost from tax payers money? Politicians have money to bribe voters, so let them pump money into direct. Using the cost as an excuse is a useless one. They can afford it since the cost of bribing during elections is the highest. The o ly cost involved from INEC is monitoring it. That's all. So, stop spreading falsified info.

Is the duplication not good? So you can know the true state of things before going to the real election. This will prevent parties from huge manipulations. For instance look at Anambra state that gave their candidate over 200,000 votes which didnt not exist. But going to the main election, he scored not even half of it. Lol. That shows that they manipulated the result. Where are the 200,000 votes in the main election?

Is is better to spend too much to get an election right than to spend little and looting takes place. . What we lose out to looting is far more than the extra we are spending for direct primaries. Sitz what's your problem?

Political parties always amend their constitutions from time to time. So what's the big deal here? Do you know the number of times APC and PDap have both amended theirs voluntarily? This is the most useless excuse here. You are begin g to irritate me. I think you are a paid agent to move us backward. Yet you will be the one who will suffer it. Keep allow them use you.

They will use tech. The way advanced nations do it, we will do it. We dont have to stay wirh you in the dark cos of your greediness. How do they do it in the western world? Rhe issue of multiple parties is rubbish. That's an internal problem of the parties. Are you saying they dont know who is in there parties? What kind of excuse is that? Sorry, no one can hold both parties card with direct. Ha ba! Very isles reasoning. They are not correlated in any way..

Relax, the president has sent words to iNEC for a better counsel. The right thing will be done. They just using you. I'm sure you dont even understand this garbage you posted here. They gave you as an agent to post it everywhere. You are just a tool in their hands. People like you must be chained down. And we will chain you. If you refused to be chained, we will gun you down with good laws. Period.
You're speaking long turanci here. The president has said they should amend that clause. Direct primaries won't be compulsory. It can't fit. Forget about it

HE GEJ is not even in APC so where's the truth sir?

Although what the President did by asking for the input of inec to advice him is a wise decision, I think the President should sign the bill. Some Governors lack legitimacy in power today because they are not the choice of their people so let's try this direct primaries and see if some of them will be humble enough to engage with their followers.

Just few days ago, HE Ortom was calling his Benue brothers and sisters drunkards but if he is required by law to seek their votes individually from the primaries to the general gubernatorial election, he could have invested time and resources in understanding his people's demand for good governance more.

Direct primaries will also drastically reduce litigations arising from the primaries. In the last Anambra state election, almost all the parties complained that their candidates didn't emerge from a transparent and democratic system so here's an opportunity to tackle that problem.
All the enemies of Nigeria will lose las las. They always lose. God bless Nigeria forever.

No one said political parties shouldn't try direct primaries. Direct primaries have already happened in this country before. The problem is enforcing as the ONLY method of selecting candidates; instead of leaving the choice open for political parties to decide. If APC chooses direct, they can go ahead. If PDP say no, it's indirect we want, they're free too. That's democracy IMO

No need to spend billions on irrelevant processes. The biggest and stable democracies do not waste such a humungous amount on direct primaries that would end up creating confusion with fictitious results like that of Anambra APC.

Here are some reasons to jettison the idea of direct primaries:
i. It is based on an open ballot system. If the open ballot is acceptable at party primaries, why is it not acceptable in the election proper?

ii. Cost would be prohibitive and the process would be cumbersome. There are 774 LGAs, so for every LGA election, the electoral bodies at the state level would first conduct primaries for all political parties at the council and chairmanship level. Then INEC will conduct primaries for all state assembly candidates for all parties at state level, then conduct for NASS for all parties and governorship for all parties. This is absolute nonsense.

iii, Duplication of efforts, as parties primaries would amount to INEC conducting elections before elections.

iv. Resources needed would be too much to make any meaning. INEC does not have such resources

v. All political parties would now need to amend their constitutions to reflect the requirements of the electoral act, which is nonsense. Political parties are private "vehicles' for seeking political offices, if the electoral laws do not govern how their structures and organs are constituted, why govern how they pick their candidates?

vi. Multiplicity of membership, how do INEC and the parties control list of membership? Meaning a political party could influence candidates for the opposing party by proxy membership. That is one person could hold both APC as well as PDP membership. All a smart politician would do is to create proxy membership of the opposition and use his proxies to vote for a weak person in the opposition.

Please, Mr. President should ask NASS to delete the direct primaries insertion and sign a sustainable electoral law. The direct primaries' insertion is myopic and self-serving!
This post makes sense. Enforcing direct primaries is nonsense IMO. Buhari, the useless, clueless president of naija, did well in this. They should adjust it and send it back. If he still refuses to sign, we'd know for sure that the stupid president hates democracy
