The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), is set to announce the commencement of sale of 2017/2018 admission forms for Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and Direct Entry (DE), which is long-awaiting, this was disclosed after agreeing on a harmonized timetable with other examination bodies in the country.
This agreement was reached at the national headquarters of the Board in Abuja on Tuesday, after a meeting with National Examination Council (NECO), West African Examination Council (WAEC) and National Business and Technical Examination (NABTEB).
In a statement released afterwards by JAMB’s Head of Information, Fabian Benjamin, the body explained that the harmonized examination timetable, will solve problems arising from overlapping of examination dates, which has disenfranchised a lot of candidates.
It was also resolved that WAEC would speak to all its authorities that from 2018, between March and April, a window of two weeks would be created where all other examinations that have nothing to do with Nigeria will be written, to allow JAMB conduct its examination.
“The bodies agreed that for the purpose of the 2017 UTME, JAMB will shift its examinations to allow students face WAEC, NECO and NABTEB,” part of the statement read.
A 10-day window for JAMB’S UTME has been created by all examination bodies for the body to conduct its examination.
However, JAMB has also warned that whoever is presently collecting any money for JAMB forms should be reported to the Police or any other security agency as a fraudster.

Chelsea has received approval from the Hammersmith & Fulham Council for the club to redevelop Stamford Bridge.
The proposed rebuild will increase capacity from 41,663 to 60,000.
The plan was presented in model form at a hearing at Hammersmith Town Hall on Wednesday. After a three-hour meeting attended by Blues chairman Bruce Buck and director Eugene Tenenbaum, permission was granted.
Chelsea’s new stadium is expected to cost £500m and take three years to build.
“We are grateful that planning permission was granted for the redevelopment of our historic home,” Chelsea said in a statement.
“The committee decision does not mean that work can begin on site. This is just the latest step, although a significant one, that we have to take before we can commence work, including obtaining various other permissions”, it added.
Stamford Bridge is the ninth biggest club ground in England behind Manchester United, Arsenal, West Ham, Manchester City, Liverpool, Sunderland, Newcastle United and Aston Villa.

Popular US trained journalist, Kemi Olunloyo, has called for Muslims to tear and burn their Qurans as according to her, it is a tool of destruction.
She made this known after saying the Bible was fake, hence, she does not read it.
On her Facebook page, Madame KOO, as she is fondly called, said pages on the Quran need to be recycled clearly.
