It was exactly 25years ago. I remember hearing the broadcast by then military President Gen. Ibrahim Babangida, announcing the creation of two new states, Katsina and Akwa Ibom. As a primary 6 pupil then, who just wrote the 1987 First School Leaving Certificate Examination, little did I know our landscape will be transformed into what we are witnessing in the present. Our school, CKS Barracks Road has been next door neighbour to the seat of power in the State. We saw what it was then, and can rightly adjudged that it has been so good with us. While thanking our Almighty God for this privilege, we are praying and hoping that things will continue to get better as we progress to the next important milestone of our State existence. Our leaders should continue to lead us aright with sincere political will. We, the citizenry should continue to play our legitimate roles in ensuring our state maintain and even surpass the status and air of importance we are basking now.
