5. Work with authorities to identify, locate and bring the terrorists to book.

6. Mobilize against the vast looting of minerals from your domain (according to Arnold)

7. Introduce verifiable records of your work as a brigadier general in Pakistan and Afghanistan.

8. Show even a hint of moral outrage for the atrocities and sympathy for the victims.

9. Use your paramount influence and vast resources to help protect the innocent and restore the displaced.

These are easy, and a no-brainer for any blameless person in your position. Just a half-hearted effort at ANY ONE of them would go a long way.
