The World Health Organization (WHO) analysed data from 114 countries and said resistance of bacteria to antibiotics was happening now "in every region of the world".
It described a "post-antibiotic era", where people die from simple infections that have been treatable for decades.
There were likely to be "devastating" implications unless "significant" action was taken urgently, it added.
The report focused on seven different bacteria responsible for common serious diseases such as pneumonia, diarrhea, E. Coli, Staphylococcus and blood infections.
… Bacteria naturally mutate to eventually become immune to antibiotics, but the misuse of these drugs - such as doctors over-prescribing them and patients failing to finish courses - means it is happening much faster than expected.
'Wake-up call'
The report called for better hygiene, access to clean water, infection control in healthcare facilities, and vaccination to reduce the need for antibiotics.
Last year, the chief medical officer for England, Prof Dame Sally Davies, said the rise in drug-resistant infections was comparable to the threat of global warming … Read the complete report by WHO and BBC http://www.doublegandm.com/health-news/e-coli-deadlier-than-boko-haram.html
In addition to what Prof Dame said above, I would want to say that the rise in drug-resistant infections is comparable to the threat of BOKO HARAM in Nigeria.
You need to see the huge amount of people that report to the hospitals daily for infection related cases. Most of them had used several antibiotics without getting cured of their infections. Many had died due to bacteria related infections that had eaten deep into vital organs in the body. Some are dealing with various degree of blood infections.
So Nairalanders, it is time to start doing the right thing. Maintain strictly the points listed below if you do not want to start taking antibiotics that will eventually become immune to bacteria – when this happens, believe me, getting cured from infections like E.coli , staphylococcus and related infections would be very difficult.
a. Stop indiscriminate sex.
b. Keep one boy or girl friend or better still abstain completely from sex until you are married.
c. Wash your hands, foods, utensils and everything washable before eating or using them.
d. Always keep your environment or surrounding clean.
e. Wash your cloths and under wears regularly.
f. Take your bath at least twice daily.
g. Avoid handshaking as much as possible, if you must shake hands; wash your hands with soap and clean water after every hand shake.
h. Make sure your child or children take all the necessary immunizations as at when due.
i. If you are sick, only take antibiotic drugs if it is absolutely necessary to do so – miss-using antibiotic could lead to “antibiotics resistance”.
j. Above all, do all you can to stay healthy by eating fruits, vegetables and doing exercises.

For many years scientists theorized as to the origins of HIV and how it appeared in the human population, most believing that HIV originated in other primates. Then in 1999, an international team of researchers reported that they had discovered the origins of HIV-1, the predominant strain of HIV in the developed world. A subspecies of chimpanzees native to west equatorial Africa had been identified as the original source of the virus. The researchers believe that HIV-1 was introduced into the human population when hunters became exposed to infected blood. Ok Nairalanders, where do you think HIV came from? In Africa? In Nigeria? Or from the White Man’s land? Let the discussion Begin Now!

Health / Re: Staphylococcus Aureus And You. by jacobkunle42: 12:05am On Mar 18, 2015
jackmore64:
I just stumbled upon this post. Going by some of the comments and feedback regarding this post, I decided to contribute based on the experiences I have had regarding staphylococcus infection.
Yes Dr. Nature is right when he said that orthodox medications had failed in the fight against staphs and infections. Check out these BBC websites for confirmation: http://www.bbc.com/news/health-27204988 or http://www.bbc.com/news/health-21739378

1. Dr. Nature is partially right when he said symptoms of staph can stop temporary only to come back like a wired fire after completing medications. However, I must add that, after the right medications had been completed, you would have to continue with everything that can boost your immunity to fight against bacteria (fruits and greens). If these is done, believe me, staph will stand no chance in your body.
2. Dr Nature is right and very accurate when he said that dirt and germs are the causes of diseases, infections and staph, in fact, germs are everywhere, the only way to fight them is by washing hands, fruits, foods, utensils and everything washable; regularly before using or eating them.
3. Dr. Nature is also right when he emphasized on the need to build strong immune system. If you see anyone that is very healthy, you have seen someone that has strong immune system. The truth is that, there are traces of staph in every human; the manifestation of symptoms and sicknesses in some people is because of broken down immune system.
Nevertheless, if Dr. Nature is a “scammer” or 419, it is a different story entirely, I do not support and I have nothing to do with thieves or scammers.
Fighting staph and related infections are not as difficult as people have made us to believe. It is getting the right knowledge and information that makes the difference. Someone had passed through the journey of agonizing pains and psychological trauma, finding a cure to staphylococcus, going to different hospitals, clinics and herbal homes. Used several medications, which include antibiotics and herbal drugs that did not work. Fortunately for him, he discovered a remedy that worked. After fifteen years of long suffering, lost thousands of money trying to find a cure … read his true life story and how he was able to set himself free from staphylococcus infirmity. http://www.doublegandm.com/index.html
