Akannitommy: I think the fact you are going for a 2nd masters may be the problem but also your family may have been a great sign of home ties if they didn't apply with you. Those 2 reasons may be the red flags but what do I know; am just trying to reason this out loud. The 3rd point about employ-ability may be related to age of applicants and your job history; you may want to address this too. I will suggest you try for a PhD if you had a good grade in your first master and when you re-apply, to do it alone. All other things can be added in due course, I think. Many thanks for your advice. |

mikeerrr: You need to write a strong SOP justifying why your're applying for a second masters. They are thinking that your're just using it as a route for PR.
You should'nt have applied with your family. Everyone has their luck. That lady was just lucky. Your family is one of using strongest ties to show that you will to your country after studies. Applying with them already shows that youre ready to JAPA.
I dont know the course you applied for but you need to show a clear plan of your career prospect in your home country after studies. Will you want to work , if yes which organisation? or will you be starting your own company?
Address all this and reapply Thanks alot for the advice. |

Visa Refusal. What Next?
Hello everyone,
I got admission for a Masters programme (my 2nd Masters) last year and applied for my study permit as well as sowp for my husband and visitor visa for my 12 year-old daughter. I was encouraged to apply as a family cos the testimony of a lady here who did so and got approval for her whole family.
Just received mail that we were denied on the grounds of: - purpose of visit - family ties in Canada and country of residence - limited employment prospects in country of residence
Please how can I counter these in my reapplication? |
