You guys are very confused. The Pharmaceutical company in Nigeria is dominated by igbos, the same with other tribes who also dominate in different sectors. Eg farming by northerners.

Confused Tribalist parading everywhere.

List the Pharmaceutical companies in Nigeria and you are here listening just 4 companies.

If e sure for una, list the companies in Nigeria with their owners.

Confuse people.
You can make a list to prove it instead of making wild claims without data, back your claims with data not asking others to do it for you.

It can’t even support its current population. No African country is going to get made. When you look at the history of countries that industrialised. You see the factors that contributed to their industrialisation such as strong rule of law, functioning institutions, low corruption etc don’t exist in any African country and ultimately never will.

Africa will never be the next China. Asians and Whites still run Nigeria and Africa at large. China is responsible for much of Africa’s industrial development.World powers invest in this continent because of geopolitical competition not because they see this continent as a potential industrial power.

Africa’s attempts to rival Western/Eastern societies will be met with a failure.
That was China before Mao Zhedong, what African countries need is a Mao.
The Chinese never thought this was going to happen before Mao.
Our own Mao may break Nigeria into bits and grow his part.
PoliticsRe: Why Igbo Failed To This?.. by JagabanB: 7:26pm On Aug 09, 2024
mrvitalis:
Nigeria is a tripod state
Two other majority group feels 8 years of presidency is to risky to give to an igbo man

Yet they fear that letting the igbo man go would lead to breaking up of nigeria because South South n middle belt would never stay in a Nigeria without igbos

Yorubas are terrified of self rule, the last two attempt one before the white man came and two after independent both ended with them killing themselves in large number

North feels it can't survive without Nigeria

Minority feels that the idea of Nigeria give them sense of being part of something big

Igbo man feels he can do better either leading Nigeria or on his own, feels Nigeria is holding it back unnecessarily

There you have it
It's not like the middle belt or SS likes lgb0s or would agree to stay with them.
lgb0s were mostly a collection of hamlets and villages before the were carved into Nigeria, never did well before Nigeria, somehow, Nigeria is holding them back now?

APC might not even win ordinary street chairmanship election in the north talk more of having the balls to go there for campaign......
You clearly don't know the north.
There are several people in APC in power in the north, you think they will switch to PDP?

Will lgb0s vote Obi?
Will NE vote Atiku?
You know the answers to this question, trying to victimize Yorubas who voted for other candidates including Obi is crass, but lgb0s voted Obi a renowned faiIed governor massively because he is their tribesman.

I agree even SA is economically doomed but not as doomed as Nigeria. And it’s worse because the population growth is not sustainable. The country can’t even sustain its current citizens and I believe Nigeria will have like 500 million people in the next 40 years and naira is devaluing. The country is going down the path of Haiti and Burundi.
Nigeria will never be like Haiti or Burundi.
Presently like China before Mao.
If Nigeria is going the path of Haiti, it won't be able to have 500m people in 40 years.
Nigeria is actually at a critical point and it will stay at this point for the next 10-15 years, that's the make or break point, it's either it gets made or gets broken into fragments.

By what was already said in the thread. This economist was debunked by another.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zERt2J5-7qI

The reality is that Nigeria is no longer Africa’s largest economy. SA is.
Do you realize that African economies are deteriorating rather than growing?
Every economy in Africa is as good as sh*t and whatever everyone is doing is permutations.

Most people on this thread don’t agree with what the economist said.

Even on the comments section of the video. Most didn’t agree. People thought that he was absolutely crazy. No financial or economic institution in Nigeria or globally will take his idea seriously. It’s a joke.

You can’t expect the economy to be large with the rate of devaluation. As naira devalues, the GDP becomes much smaller.
We are talking about the money being stoIen in this country, not the economy.

cheesy

Its one reason why every single Presidents in Nigeria does not want the country to split

If everyone is to go their own way, how would these minorities survive?

It would be even worse then cause they would be directly under just one major group

Hmmm...I have some pity for them, to be honest
Nobody is bothered about the minorites, the elites are bothered about what they gain from Nigeria not about any minor tribes, if Nigeria is splitting today, every tribe can handle itself, the tribes are not made of babies, they all have made men that can sit and discuss what's good for them.

Tinubu regime is effectively over. His continue stay will ignite more conflagration in the country. His ambition is not worth the blood of innocent protesters killed by the forces he deployed. Just like IBB who read the room and step aside. Tinubu should save the country more chaos and step aside. He still have the opportunity to set up an interim govt of his choice at this moment. That choice will completely evaporate in the coming days. This is a free advice.
He will still run for presidency in 2027.
How u guys use emotions to view everything is really funny.

you nailed it ,that's my argument, I don't know a people will sacrifice so much for an individual, who incidentally do not represent their core values of omoluabi for which they are well known
This effect will be there even after Tinubu has been long gone
Isn't that too much of a sacrifice
If this sacrifice had been for a leader like awolowo, jakande, ajasin, ayo adebanjo, people with good reputation and visible contributions to yoruba land,it would have been worthwhile but for a selfish, greedy, egocentric, kleptomaniac, divisive person leaves much to be desired
The Yorubas have the right to choose who to stand with, we can't decide for them.
If a political tussle breaks out, there will be no winner, the core north is not in alignment with the central north, the core north can't install a president.
U wonder why the political elites from the north are quiet about this?

PoliticsRe: Is The SW Really Better Than Other Regions? by JagabanB: 5:18pm On Aug 05, 2024
SmartPolician:
Believe it or not, the South West is by far the richest and most prosperous region in Nigeria. Figures don't lie neither do they care about emotions. Go online - jobs created in Lagos and Ogun alone by far outnumber jobs seen anywhere else in the country.

As for the Igbos depending on other regions, that's totally true and it started after the civil war when the FG stopped making major investments in the East. If you go from Rivers to Lagos to Abuja, you see huge FG investments in these places, but you rarely see FG investments in the South East. This explains the mass exodus of Igbos from the East in search of opportunities. Nigeria is a country that has no regards for equity, fairness and justice.
FG investments like what exactly?
U want to railways?
That one started few years ago and hasn't touched most parts of SS, NC and NE.

PoliticsRe: Let Be Honest, Will Nigeria Ever Be Great Again? by JagabanB: 2:21pm On Aug 05, 2024
Letdemsay02:
Very true. I just like your contribution. There is something that is fundamentally wrong with some Nigerians sorry to use this words. Even I myself is not excepted. So what could be the problem,is it ignorance, illiteracy or lack of proper foundation in the society.
The other day I was following the women's game at the Olympics and Nigeria was playing Spain, Nigerians in the comments were replying one another with "una think say una fit play Spain"?
"Una team no good at all" etc, they are removing themselves from being part of the team because it's Iosing, the women's basketball team is succeeding now, everyone's is claiming to be part of it, let's say they fail against the USA in their next game and the "una" rhetorics will come out again.
We as Nigerians should understand that we should love and cherish our home, even if u are agitating for a different country, your home is definitely going to be part of that country, love your home, cherish it, defend it, contribute to it's growth.
Nigerians don't want to contribute to the growth of something.
Our league is struggling today because Nigerians don't want to build, the league is coming up gradually now, at this rate, it will come to a point where every Nigerian will start claiming it because it has started gaining success, someone up the comments was talking about how Nigerians are all about themselves, life is not about just us, how much we make, how much we succeed and about our family, it's about our society, how much do we contribute to our society, to the individuals in it, a successful country is a collection of successful individuals, contribute to people's success, that's how we will transform our society.
PoliticsRe: Let Be Honest, Will Nigeria Ever Be Great Again? by JagabanB: 1:45pm On Aug 05, 2024
Nigerians are not a group of people that works for greatness.
The leaders in this country are a perfect reflection of majority of the people.
The leaders see politics as a quick means of making money, that's how the masses see it not as a means to serve or develop your home but to Ioot and go abroad, that's how the masses see it, the fact that the masses complain doesn't mean they are different, it's because they are the ones being affected by the negative attitude of those who got there before them.
Nigeria as a country can't be great until the average Nigerian understands that building a successful society is their responsibility.
Nigerians are always fond of saying "I don't owe anyone anything", not until Nigerians understand that you owe your society alot, greatness will never come, in 20 to 30 years time people who are not in politics today will get into politics and the country will be worse than it is already.
PoliticsRe: D by JagabanB: 4:57pm On Aug 04, 2024
LandMann:
1. Peter Obi is not the best candidate to represent the east in 2023 election cos he's a typical Nigerian politician. Bring someone like Cosmas Maduka and I'll gladly support him.

2. Tinubu is a greedy politician and those of his kinsmen who supported him and greedy and selfish as well cos in fairness and equity and justice, the Igbos ought to have been given the full chance to produce the next president of Nigeria since the yorubas already gave Nigeria Obasanjo

3. Unfortunately, election in Nigeria is not won by wishful thinking. Election is won by structures built through years of carefully groomed relationships.

4. Tinubu has this advantage plus the wealth he has acquired by legit or crooked means over the years plus they have used propaganda to build alliance with the north to always get them on their side during election. The odds were already against the SE right from 2015 but somehow the SE refused to see and adjust their strategies

5. It's natural for SE people to feel cheated after their man lost the election. Now SW propaganda machinery has been activated to rub the loss in their face and blame them for anything that goes wrong in Nigeria

6. It will be a big mistake for SE to respond to this manipulation by attacking or mocking the north and others outside of the SW.

7. If everything is to be standardized and openly competitive and won on the basis of competence, I'm sure the SE will gladly accept it. I'm not so sure the north will accept it because a large proportion of their people will be automatically disenfranchised. This is fact.

8. Will you then line a crocodile, an elephant and a monkey and judge them by their ability to swim alone? Answer carefully cos in your answer lies the reason why a certain region will be short-changed if you say let's reward people only by their ability to read and write a white man's language or do things like a white man.

9. Remember that the east and west were fully conquered by the white man and were taught and forced into the white man's ways but the north were never conquered by the white man nor taught or assimilated into the white man's ways
Fortunately, I have seen someone from the east on NL here with whom my ideas align, I agree with everything you have said because they particularly align with my school of thought.
I have a few objections tho which are all focused on point 2.
All the politicians on the ballot who had the chance of winning are greedy.
The chance to produce the next president by lgb0s can only be given by PDP where lgb0s sowed most of their energies not APC where Tinubu ran, so Yorubas supporting APC are not greedy because they chose a candidate to support.
They supported other parties, that discussion is what should be talked about with PDP.
