Zssk0003: Did you know that Onitsha in Anambra state was founded in the year 1555, long before the existence of Nigeria? It's a fascinating fact that highlights the rich history of this region. Knowing this can help you appreciate the significance of Onitsha even more. So many other cities like Kano, Rano, Benin, Zaria, Borgu, Borno, Oyo etc etc etc existed in those ages. Right now we are talking about why Lagos was made capital instead of SE. |

As usual, you had to resort to your base nature of insinuating nonsense to buttress your initial trash.
It is chaps like you that are two-faced fanatics, ethnic jingoists and political party table crumb collectors.
If you were not, you would not have seen anything wrong with my initial post which you quoted. What's the big deal in saying the FG should tackle insecurity and address the removal of subsidies? Are state governors fully in charge of the security forces? Did they remove subsidy or float the naira?
The thing with 'your kind' is you feel your clueless rulers and drug dealing gods should not be criticised or advised. Well, not everyone can be slavish lowlives. Some of us want this country to get better because it is all we have. LOL. You initially thought that I'm ur kind that keeps changing goal posts because of political inclination, I don't do that, compadre. My ideas are my ideas, ur Iàme criticisms don't change anything, it's just based on emotions and u will keep facing reality on ground. The big question u keep avoiding, did all these things start in 1999? What has governors done since 1999? Practically nothing. |

It will bring more hardship.
Why don't we wait till we start producing most of the things we use in Nigeria?

SW as a region is more developed than SE, remove Lagos and let the remaining 5 states go head to head with SE, they will still bèàt SE hands down. If u measure bravery by going out to urinate then it's funny because I see so many lgb0s who are grown ups but run away when they see rat. I know lgb0s who dón't go out at night to pee, they pee in their room, it's not a measure of bravery, it's more about mindset than bravery. If u want to taIk about bravery, look for something substantial, this sounds more kid's talk. |

ivandragon: Just like many of you don't know how crippling the present resource control system is crippling states.
Is it the state governors that have devalued the naira, removed subsidy and made nigeria the living hell it is turning out to be today?
If states are allowed more control over there resources, then the governors naturally have to become more accountable to the people of the state.
Until that umbrella governors hide under is removed, then the centre would continue to bear the brunt of the angst of Nigerians.
Besides, where was all these your argument pre-Buhari? Are you now realising that state governors have a bigger role to play?
Lol. The only umbrella state governors are hiding under are the ones you the masses provide. Governors receive billions every month, do basically nothing with it, you clap for them. Does the FG stop the state governors from performing their duties? Does the FG stop the state governors from doing what they allocated funds to them to do? You provide the umbrella they hide under. My ideas has always remain constant, I am not a fanatic Iike u foIks, I have maintained same ideas since 2003 even if I don't like the presidency. Ykc2: so your comparing anambra state with lagos meanwhile lagos is enjoyed massive federal investment and infrastructures for more than 60 years, let's make one igbo state the capital of Nigeria for 40 years so we can compare it to lagos, When Lagos was made capital, the entire SE was still a bush where only foot paths existed, hamlets with round huts were the other of the day, people were stiII waIking bare footed without sIippers and eviI forests abound all over and Osu were the order of the day, so those who made Lagos capital put all these factors into consideration before doing that. Even if we want to make any state in SE our capital today, it will take billions of dollars to make it palatable and it will be unhabitable because as usual, lgb0s wiII make living there unb3Arable. So ur states being igñóred as capital was ur doing not anyone. The money FG is pumping into SE and ur Ieaders keep embezzling, u didn't ask about that. Senators in other places are building befitting ICT centres and urs were building cow shed but in 5 years, u will bIame SW for FG allocations, what happened to yours? |

ivandragon: This your line of argument does not hold water anymore.
It has been clearly seen that since apc came into power at the centre, their reckless and unbothered attitude towards governance has further emboldened state governors to follow suit.
Imagine supporting people like ganduje and akpabio to hold sensitive positions. Even oshiomole said it as apc chairman that no matter the level of corruption, once you join apc, all sins are washed away.
Security and resource allocation are controlled by the Centre, so if the centre chooses to be reckless, the states follow suit. The centre also decides if states should provide water or not? Many of u don't know that the unavailability of pipeborne water is huge probIem, yet most states don't provide water. The centre also stopped states from investing in agriculture and education? The centre also made states abandon general hospitals and primary health cares? The centre also made states not to repair roads that they should repair? This your argument of exonerating faiIed governors is staIe already, it doesn't help the country. The governor has more transformation to cause in a society more than the president. |

Politics › Re: In Desperate Memo, BAT Begs Governors To Cajole Islamic Clerics, CSOs With Ramad by JagabanB: 3:07pm On Mar 08, 2024 |
ivandragon: Hmm...
The government, at all levels, needs to do more.
Though state governments are relatively independent, the governors often 'read' the body language of the President and it gives them a sense of what the government at the centre thinks.
If BAT continues to stubbornly thread a path of waste, propaganda and misaligned/misdirected policies and actions, the governors tend to follow suit since they mostly depend on the centre for sustenance.
Bat needs to urgently address the real causes that make fuel and forex subsidies unsustainable. Cut down excesses, then frontally address insecurity by introducing new technologies to combact crime while carrying out a reorientation of security forces.
Those three actions should help calm things down pending when other measures can be put in place. So it was BAT that was responsible for the irresponsiblities of 97% of governors since 1999? State government are independent and they haven't done anything meaningful since ages ago. |
