When NNPCL started fighting to be the sole marketer of Dangote refinery product, two things come to my mind.

(1) FG government wanted to buy from Dangote and subsidize it to make the price cheaper than before.

(2) FG government wanted to make profit from Dangote refinery.

It’s insane that number 2 was the right motive. Now, selling petroleum products around #900 per liter means the NNPCL will be making a profit not less than #100 per liter. I’m not surprise since Tinubu’s government is about growing revenue not making life easier for citizens.

The earlier we realize that the concept behind “government” is to milk citizens, the better we start creating opportunities for ourselves. Government was not created to solve your financial problems. One reason the whole world hates government since the early days of humanity.

I decided to create this thread after seeing a guy fumbling that no one can impeach Gov. Fubara of rivers state. There has been 6 state governors impeachment since 1999.

Under certain terms and conditions, the Governor may be replaced by another, for example through death, impeachment or if an election is annulled.

Ayo Fayose (Born 15 November 1960) was impeached as the Executive Governor of Ekiti State, Nigeria on 16 October 2006 on alleged mismanagement of public funds and serial killings[1]

Peter Obi (born 19 July 1961) was impeached as the Executive Governor of Anambra State on 2 November 2006 on alleged gross misconduct. Peter Obi was elected governor of Anambra on March 17, 2006. He was impeached 8 months after winning governorship election by the State House of Assembly. Obi would later reveal that one of the reasons he was impeached was his refusal to inflate the government’s yearly budget.

Joshua Dariye, was impeached as the Executive Governor of Plateau State, Nigeria on 13 November 2006 on alleged siphon of public fund and money laundering in London[3]

Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, was impeached as the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Nigeria on 12 January 2006 by 18 Legislators[4]

Diepreye Alamieyeseigha was impeached as the Executive Governor of Bayelsa State, Nigeria on 9 December 2005 on alleged corruption which includes, theft of public funds, abuse of office, and money laundering.[5]

Murtala Nyako was impeached as the Executive Governor of Adamawa State, Nigeria in July 2014 on alleged corruption which includes theft of public funds, abuse of office and money laundering[6]

I understand your view. For him to have peace of mind and finish his tenure, he has to go rogue. Unfortunately, Gov. Fubara is not that kind of person. He doesn’t know how to exercise the power he has. One reason why PDP sold him out.

Back to the topic, you talk from emotional point and not logical point. PDP themselves gave Wike PDP structure days ago. What battle is left for Gov. Fubara to fight? He who controls the party structure dictates the party outcome.

In politics, you can only use force on someone without a superior power. In 2014, Fayemi was beaten in Ekiti in the presence of all security forces. Why? Because Fayose has federal might.

Gov. Fubara’s case is even worse than that of Fayemi. Wike now control Gov. Fubara’s party coupled with APC federal might.

Being a Governor till 2027 will be a big achievement for Gov. Fubara.

Wike and all stakeholders against him will never want him to be remembered as a former Governor. PDP has given Wike and his loyalists permission to do all they want with him.

PDP sold out Governor Fubara of Rivers State. In politics, you either win or lose. When you win, you are expected to inflict maximum pain on your opponent and render them useless to prevent them from Challenging you in future.

Despite governor Ambode’s softness towards Lagos political stakeholders that said No to his second term ambition, he was almost impeached. This is politics where “PITY” is the ingredient for failure.

As soon as PDP stakeholders gave all power to Wike, they sacrificed Gov Fubara and left him to the mercy of Wike. Governor Fubara will be impeached and arrested. He shouldn’t have started a fight he can’t win.

I want to share a small gossip with you sir. Nigerians are rich and they are just pretending. #1k a liter is not enough for our government to deliver needed infrastructure and social amenities to the people. If you increase the gasoline price to #5,000, Nigerians will buy and still pay extra 10% tax on all income.

Every government Nigerians ever had works to make life simple for the people, but our government is doing everything possible to generate revenue instead of making life easy. Remember this is Nigeria, Africa and not France or Western Countries.

Your excellency, I doubt you will have chance to campaign when 2027 comes unless you increase gasoline price to #5,000. Thanks.

@Seun , you have to come forward before we start washing our dirty linens in X public space. There are 2 things you have to clarify.

(1) Why are you making it impossible to delete my own data from your forum? The law says every forum and site owners must provide a way for users to delete their own data.

I’ve decided to post one of the best university in Benin republic after some unknown group ask federal government to reconsider her decision on banning certificate from Togo and Benin. The fact that graduates from Togo and Benin are dragging job with Nigeria graduates is an insult on the hard work of Nigeria students. This single block is the whole Espam university.

There’s no point running NNPC that brings nothing to the table. Government should privatize every business under their control and prioritize tax collection.
