The gerrymandering that has produced the skewed electoral map that we have today, has put the north at the top of the food chain. You and I may not like this, but it is the sad reality we have to deal with. The north is very politically important in terms of amassing the votes needed to win a presidential election.

That is the crude reality associated with Nigerias chequered political evolution. As much as I detest Tinubus presidency, I didn't think that Buhari was better than him before 2015. But Tinubu supported Buhari in order to get the presidency. So why did Tinubu not run first in 2015?

Because of the electoral realities we have to deal with; the votes/voters. The north has more votes as the current electoral map suggests. Again, because of the ambivalent reactions to eastern presidential aspirants over the years across the North, and the fact that Obi is a fervent Christian , while the north is mostly Muslims, it is essential to strike a balance to get everyone on board.

If this entails having a Liberal northerner go first, we have to close our noses and do the do..

The only thing that puts the north on top of the food chain is that northerners see voting as their right meanwhile SEners prefer to sleep at home.

The fact that election has not started yet some people are already saying it will be massively rigged clearly shows they know deep within themselves that neither Obi nor Atiku can win the presidency, they just want to talk.

Peter Obi has good economic knowledge but Anambra people are running from Anambra in search of greener pastures including Obi.

No region is the deciding factor in Nigerian politics, u southerners never learn this, that's the card the north holds over u.
Buhari won a huge chunk of Northern votes and Iost repeatedly.
If the entire South vote a single candidate, that candidate is more likely to win than when the group u classified as "the north" vote for a candidate.
That "the north" don't generally include NC states, it's more about core Northern states.
But then, I really like the fact that u Southerners believe "the North" is the deciding factor.

We have all been clamouring for state police because the current security arrangement has failed to protect the people but serve the interests of the powers that be, who use human lives to play politics. Security is local. Appointment of someone from a different community is even bad as far as the forest guard is concerned let alone someone from a far distant tribe. This is not political appointments and no one should make it look like one.

It's about understanding your environment, culture, language and knowing when an intruder comes in or goes out. Politicians have started to test water with the state police because they are not interested in protecting anybody but advancing their political interests.
