She Was Not A Prostitute But Worked At The Hotel - Sister Of Latest Victim

The sister of one of the girls killed last week by a suspected serial killer at a hotel in Port Harcourt, has debunked claims of her death being as a result of prostitution.

Revealing that her sister identified as Nikky Dora worked at the hotel, Nketa Esther Bright said she was killed alongside another staff while attending to some guys that booked a room at the lodging facility.

It was learnt that one of the girls died at the hotel while the other died at a church she was rushed to. Nikky Dora said to be an orphan, left behind a 10-year-old sister.

Yes we need compensation

Barely a day after some South Africans engaged in a peaceful demonstration to apologize to countries affected by the recent xenophobic attacks which led to the evacuation of some Nigerians, the country's President Cyril Ramaphosa has also apologized to the Nigerian government.



Head of South Africa's special envoy, Mr Jeff Radebe tendered the apology on behalf of President Ramaphosa during a closed door meeting with President Buhari at the state house in Abuja.

A letter which conveyed the message from the South African leader was also presented to President Buhari at the meeting which the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama; Nigeria’s High Commissioner to South Africa, Kabiru Bala; as well as the acting South African High Commissioner in Nigeria, Bobby Moroe were present in.



Speaking on behalf of the South African Leader, Radebe said the attacks provided a good opportunity for African leaders to tackle unemployment and inequality in the entire continent. He also said the issue of compensation to Nigerian victims will be discussed during President Buhari’s visit to South Africa on October 3.

A young lady has committed suicide in Jigawa state.


Her body was found dangling from a tree early Monday morning. No one knows the reason for her action as she did not leave any suicide note.

Four people have been reported dead following a fresh cholera outbreak in Adamawa State, while 738 cases have been recorded so far.



According to a joint report by the World Health Organization (WHO) and Adamawa State Ministry of Health, two new cases of cholera were reported from 11 to 12 September 2019 from Yola North Local Government Area.



The report also stated that there was no new case from Girei and Yola South LGAs, adding that Song LGA has not reported any new case in the past eight weeks.

“The total number of cases reported as at 12th September 2019 stands at 739 with 4 deaths (CFR=0.54%), Yola North has 453 cases with 2 deaths (CFR= 0.44%); Girei has 183 cases with 1 death (CFR= 0.55 %), Yola South has 102 cases with 1 death (CFR= 0.98 %) and Song has 1 case with 0 death (CFR= 0 %).

So far, 185 samples yielded growth suggestive of Vibrio cholerae on culture and results of 7 isolates from the reference laboratory revealed 01 serotypes,” the reported said.

Adamawa is prone to cholera outbreaks. In June 2019, the state government said 76 cases were recorded in three LGAs.

Khafi Kareem has been evicted from the ongoing Big Brother Naija season four. Jalabase reports that the UK Metro police officer was evicted during the live show on Sunday. Khafi, who was put up in a strong competition with Tacha, Mike and Seyi, got on stage in her usual, bubbly demeanor.

When the nomination reel was played for her, she told host Ebuka Obi-Uchendu that she was surprised Ike nominated her seeing as they both bonded in the house. We reports that Ike, on Thursday had revealed that he planted a condom by Khafi and her love interest, Gedoni to imply that they had sex. While both Khafi and Gedoni had denied that they had sex, they also insisted that their romantic feelings for each other were real. In the post eviction interview, Khafi said that she bonded with Gedoni in the first week because they were both up for eviction.

She  told Ebuka that she believes he loves her as much she loves him, adding that she was a forlorn lover when he was evicted. She announced that she would be moving to Lagos from London and plans to go into acting and presenting. During her stint in the house, Khafi was Head of House, won one million Naira and part of Team Lagos and a car. JALABASE  reports that Ebuka announced that there will be no eviction next week, although the veto power of chance task will still hold.
