wow.. its been a while. i was so happy when i visited the farm of one of our silent thread follower here on Nl. he got the best location and he is on the path of becoming a successful cat fish farmer. when we say successful, we mean those that raise catfishes to get high returns not meager returns.. the big n
he took his first step to achieving that big bold step. he decided not to follow the band wagon. he want to be distinct. this is a pic of his natural aquifer. this aquifer run for 24hrs non-stop. now imagine the volume of water gushing out of that time. its MASSIVE!!!!

new management system recently introduced. we decided to adopt this system because we discovered investors feel more comfortable with it.
We have 2 types of management styles:

a) In the first management system, Penthouse Industry will be solely responsible for all truck maintenance including parts and servicing ‘EXCEPT’ engine, gear and axle replacement or repair. From experience, engine, gear and axle do not breakdown in the first 10-11 months. This means you do not get to be disturbed about any breakdown or delay in repairs. You only receive your Monthly payment. We however deduct 25% from your Monthly returns for months of January, February, March and April. 20% for months of May, June and December. 15% for months of July, August, September, October and November. After 10 months, you can resume full repair and maintenance responsibility if you wish. This system allows investor to plan very well as they don’t get bothered about maintenance cost. It also gives rest of mind especially when investor does not have an independent supervisor to verify repair claims.


b) In this second option, we cover expenses of not more than 5,000 Naira per week on the truck. The 5,000 can be one-time or accumulated. Any other repair/replacement higher than 5000 Naira ( or after 5000 must have been expended for that week) will be bore by investor


Also note that all our trucks are fully insured ( comprehensive insurance policy for goods in transit) with Mansard insurance. in-case of accident or casualty, they pay claims promptly. so rest of mind is assured in the business.

But there are some greenish things like weed covering the face of the pond, does it mean any harm,

Before by someone, even when I was reconstructing it they removed over 20 catfishes both big and small.

You need to explain more on the "greenish" thing. It could be algae or pond weed. If it's algae change the water by pumping it out and allow fresh water to sip in

They wont die if you maintain the Ph level, results might be poor as ph is essential in breeding. You might consider changing location or find another water source.

when i started out, i ensured a ph value of 7.3-7.6 before egg fertilization, when i removed my netting i noticed my ph value had risen to 8.5-8.7... the average water ph where my hatchery is is 5.3. i initially regulated using CaCO₃ (limestone). i limed with hydrated lime before pond fertilization, ... can u suggest to me probable cause of the ph spike

The PH fluctuation might be due to underground sipping. Do you have industry(s) around where your farm is sited or close to where agricultutal chemicals are applied like fertilizers or herbicide? Another fluctuation might be due to the water system you are using. Is it borehole?

i am so happy to share this with you. this pond belong to a nairalander. he is a follower of our thread and he was disciplined. he got it right from the beginning and i am sure the end will be much more better.
just as i always say, not all land is suitable for cat fish farming. not all available container is suitable for raising catfish to optimum capacity. have you ever wondered why most industrial companies move to their source of raw materials? you need a good yield from cat fish farm, move your pond to the right source.
