It's that season of love again, I reminisce outings with loved ones, candle lit dinner nights, lights off and movie nights all contribute to making valentine memorable.
Let's be straight, valentine isn't just about asking someone out for the fun of it or to just go with the flow, and it surely isn't just about the day, it's has a much deeper meaning.

We have been saying it for a long time and we will continue to reiterate that Ibeju Lekki is the future of Lagos and the best investment hub in Nigeria, if not in Africa��, but people just don't understand. Here's another reason for you to consider Ibeju Lekki for investment. ⤵️⤵️⤵️

Lagos State Government on Tuesday signed an agreement and laid the foundation of a new 2000-hectare city modeled after Lekki Phase 1 in the Free Trade Zone(FTZ) area. The city is located by the north-west of the FTZ which leads to Epe town. Where we have the New International Airport coming up.
Something big is happening in this area just like it happened in Lekki Phase 1 20years ago. The first step in turning the area into a satellite city started on tuesday as this area is the residential side of the zone billed to house workers of the FTZ and others working around the area. The good part is that the project is private driven and this will facilitate the speed of the project. So imagine a city with the size and influence of Lekki Phase 1 coming up with even an airport around the area.
And the good part is that we have LekkiVale estate right around the corridor with a global C of O Title.

However, even uncertainties can be being managed. That there are risks does not mean the business must eventually fail. The question then is were people prepared for the uncertainties?

Venturing into business with the fundamental knowledge of the risky nature of business goes a long way in preparing a person for certain levels of conceivable risks. However, I reiterate that no one is ever fully prepared for the near-heart attack risks posed by businesses. But this truly doesn't mean that every business must eventually fail, if the right risk control methods are improvised.

Setting up a business has its appeal. It also has its benefits. You will understand why a lot of Civil Servants who retire and are paid gratuities etc. cannot successfully manage a business. The conflict of interest rule does not allow them run a business. After 35 years of handling a minute component of an organization, they try to delve into business. But how do you give what you do not have unless you want to deceive yourself or other people?

It requires effort and experience. You need to understand the business to a very large extent. The applicable regulations, direct and indirect influences of market forces, competitors, the associated services, sourcing raw materials/inputs,the processes of creating your output, your type of customers, your type of staff, the strength, weakness, opportunities and threats of/to the business, etc. You need to have these and more covered before venturing. You could also decide to have a mentor. Before starting, have conversations with people in the business. Visit various same/similar ventures like a customer and ask questions.

Additionally, business is done to create value of some sort. Every organisation exists to create value. Even NGOs. You have to enjoy the process of meeting people's needs. It wont be easy, especially at take off stage. You will need to understand cash flow, basic book keeping, business terms like invoice, quotation etc. depending on your type of business. The general rule is be sure to know what you are getting into before getting into it.


No one is ever fully equipped with the requirements of building a business, there's always unforseen eventualities.

Setting up a business has its appeal. It also has its benefits. You will understand why a lot of Civil Servants who retire and are paid gratuities etc. cannot successfully manage a business. The conflict of interest rule does not allow them run a business. After 35 years of handling a minute component of an organization, they try to delve into business. But how do you give what you do not have unless you want to deceive yourself or other people?

It requires effort and experience. You need to understand the business to a very large extent. The applicable regulations, direct and indirect influences of market forces, competitors, the associated services, sourcing raw materials/inputs,the processes of creating your output, your type of customers, your type of staff, the strength, weakness, opportunities and threats of/to the business, etc. You need to have these and more covered before venturing. You could also decide to have a mentor. Before starting, have conversations with people in the business. Visit various same/similar ventures like a customer and ask questions.

Additionally, business is done to create value of some sort. Every organisation exists to create value. Even NGOs. You have to enjoy the process of meeting people's needs. It wont be easy, especially at take off stage. You will need to understand cash flow, basic book keeping, business terms like invoice, quotation etc. depending on your type of business. The general rule is be sure to know what you are getting into before getting into it.


No one is ever truly prepared, there's always unforseen eventualities.
