The 13th African Movie Academy Awards ceremony took place on July 15, 2017 with Funke Adesiyan causing comotion with her colleague, John Okafor.

Mr. Latin said they were returning from a Glo Music show when they ran into the gunmen on Sagamu road.
Popular Yoruba actors, Odunlade Adekola and Bolaji Amusan, better known as Mr. Latin, were on Saturday, July 15, reportedly attacked by armed men in Ogun State.
According to Mr. Latin's account, they were returning from a Glo Music show when they ran into the gunmen on Sagamu road.
"We left Ijebu-Ode after the show and heading to Abeokuta, when at about 7.30 p.m. we ran into the armed robbers already stationed themselves on the road," Premium Times quoted the comic actor as saying.
Latin said upon citing the gunmen, they abandoned their vehicles and fled into the bush, where they took refuge for two hours.
The robbers were said to have raided their vehicles and carted away valuables including money and mobile phones.
"We took to our heels as the robbers pursued us with guns. We were in the bush for about two hours, before we later regained freedom after the robbers left the scene," Mr. Latin said.
He added that some vigilantes in the area later escorted them to the Ogun State University Teaching Hospital, Sagamu for medical treatment.

US President Donald Trump and his daughter Ivanka recently met two Chibok girls at the White House.

Joy Bishara, 20, and Lydia Pogu, were among 57 girls who escaped from Boko Haram in Borno by jumping the back of a truck in 2014.

A photo confirming the meeting between Trump and the two girls was chosen as the "Photo of the Day" of the White House for Wednesday, June 28, 2017.
The two moved to the United States in August 2014 with the help of the Jubilee campaign

The local media portal, The Cable, reports that Joy and Lydia graduated from Canyonville Christian Academy in Oregon in February of this year and is trying to raise funds to continue her studies. They are supported by Jubilee Campaign, a human rights group in Virginia, African reports.

At least 12 students have committed suicide in the central Indian state of Madhya over examination results since Friday, a senior police official said Sunday.

"The suicides were reported from across the state. The victims were all depressed over their poor performances in class X and XII exams conducted by the Madhya Pradesh education board," he said on condition of anonymity.

"While some died by hanging themselves from the ceiling fans in their homes, a few committed suicide by injecting themselves with toxic substance and others by drinking poison. The bodies have been sent for post-mortem," the official said.

Here are the 10 commandments for effective boss management:

1- Have a good grasp of your own strengths and weaknesses as well as his strength, and weaknesses. You will know where you two complement each other, where you conflict, where you need help.

2- Know what he needs: both work needs and emotional needs. When they are legitimate needs such as loyalty, feedback and support, provide them without having to be coached. Never criticize him in front of others. Never underestimate him.

3-Understand the rules of team play. Be willing to be a good team player. Your individual contribution has value, but it's greatly enhanced as a part of the group effort. Help your boss become a good team leader.

4- Learn how to build trust. Show your boss you are trustworthy. Demonstrate your trust in him and he'll come through for you. Let your boss know when he has violated your trust, when he has gone beyond the call of duty.

5- Keep the line of communication open. Give him feedback on his performance. Ask him, rely on his guidance. Don't take his criticisms personally.

Lagos State Government on Sunday unveiled plans by his administration to build five new arts theatres across the State as part of efforts to engage the youths and promote tourism through arts and entertainment.
The Governor, who spoke at a stage play titled ‘Heartbeat The Musical…A New Beginning’ held at the Muson Centre, Onikan, Lagos and directed by Olu Jacobs and Joke Silver, said the theatres would be up and running before the end of 2017.
Speaking shortly after the stage play, Governor Ambode said he was thoroughly impressed by the production of the play, saying it was a confirmation that Lagos is not only the destination for arts, culture and entertainment, but has a bulging youths ready to showcase their talents.
He said, “I never believed I could sit down for two hours, I thought I would just pop in briefly and then leave, but this is awesome and fantastic, I thoroughly enjoyed it. The mere fact that I believe strongly in arts, entertainment and sports, everything that is arts, like I said, before the end of next year, we are going to have five new theatres in Lagos.

“We are already engaging the Terra Kulture and we are speaking to another consultant and the truth is that we want to have the theatres in Badagry, Epe, Ikorodu, Alimosho and on the Mainland. We already have one in Victoria Island. But the truth is that this is where the energy of Lagos is and that is where we should go.
“It’s not so much about physical infrastructure, but 67 per cent of the Lagos population is below the age of 35, so we need to start finding things to keep the younger ones more creative and then open the space for them to be able to just show their talents.”
Governor Ambode also said that the State Government was fine-tuning plans ahead of the climax of its Lagos @ 50 celebrations coming up on May 27, 2017, adding that several events that would promote the arts and entertainment sector would be incorporated in the celebration.
