Politics / Re: Why Nigerians Should Resist The Proposed Christian "Ecclesiastical" Court Bill by JAROSALEMY: 2:56pm On Dec 10, 2016
Pontificating on this matter as you have done makes no point. The only valid point you made is that the Ecclesiastical court Bill could unwittingly be juxtaposed to the Sharia Appeal Court Jurisdiction Extension Bill so that both Bills are passed as trade offs. But to say without evidence that it is a Muslim bait is not right. When the 12 Sharia States were passing those Bills to create State religions in their states in blatant violation of constitutional provisions, what did Christians and OBJ, then President, do? NOTHING. When Sanusi wa spromoting Islamic banking what did christians do? NOTHING. When History was being abolished in schools and the entire educational curriculum was being revised to water down CRK, what did Christians do? NOTHING. When Yobe State was adopting a Religious Preaching Gag Edict in the military era, what did Christians do? NOTHING. When Ekweremadu's Constitution Review Committee during the 7th NASS recommended removing S.14(b) which makes any married woman in Nigeria equal to a mature 18 year old and Sen. Yerima Sani opposed the proposal, what did Christians do? When the DMO and SECOND announced that they were in the process of issuing Nigeria's first sharia-compliant Debt instruments called sukuk, what did Christians do? NOTHING. When Pastor Bosun Emmanuel and Femi Fani-Kayode announced that the APC has an Islamic agenda, what did Christians do? NOTHING. Christian girls are being criminally abducted, false converted to islam and forcibly married by State Sharia Councils in blatant violation of national and international laws, yet Christians are doing NOTHING about it. For once, some Christians feel a law should be put in place to protect Christian rights and privileges (NOT CANON LAW, for non exists), and you oppose them. I don't understand you. Do you want us to wait until we all voluntarily opt for Islam due to the discomfort of living under Islamic laws, banks, etc? Please something, if not Ecclesiatical Courts. Mind you, the Constitution has already recognised Islam, sharia Courts, Khadis and Grand Khadis. Nigeria is not a secular Sttate but a multi religious one. Ther should be laws to protect each religion and even the non-religious citizens. There is religious confusion and constitutional ambivalence on the practice of religion. Ecclesiastical courts may add to the confision, but that does not render them un-neede by christendom. Please bring up superior argument to Hon. Gyang's and his 8 colleagues. I am all ears.
NYSC / Re: Nysc Has Been Scrapped by JAROSALEMY: 12:43am On Jun 05, 2016
(1) A decision to abolish the NYSC scheme but it cannot be implemented as suggested by some unnamed person here. The NYSC Act was made part and parcel of Nigeria's 1999 Constitution. Therefore to scrap the NYSC scheme would require a constitutional amendment. This is possible and it has been done but it is a tedious process.
(2) the FEC doesn't meet on Saturdays but Wednesdays as of tradition. This piece of 'Breaking News' is therefore suspect and should be taken with a pinch of salt, or better still, it should be completely discarded.
(3) If we may add an opinion, we wish the NYSC scheme was amended and ma
de more relevant after 38 years, or better still, if it was scrapped altogether.

Politics / Re: NLC Cannot Embark On Strike-national Industrial Court by JAROSALEMY: 9:33pm On Jan 06, 2012
The NIC order is in order. NLC and TUC did not hold a congress in order for members to vote on the matter in contention neither did they give notice of a trade dispute to their employers. A wild cat strike cannot be used unless the dispute is about a negotiated right that has been violated by an employer. Since NLC and TUC have not yet commenced on the strike, it is now illegal for them to do so. They will be committing a crime on Monday if they go ahead and their leaders can be arrested for committing an offence - violating a court order. Deregulation of the downstream sector of the petroleum industry is absolutely necessary. Let's support this government move and oppose our labour leaders please. tongue
Politics / Re: Can The "aburi Accord" Agenda Help Solve Nigeria's Problems? by JAROSALEMY: 3:41pm On Dec 20, 2011
With the present level of violence being unleashed on Gowon's middle belt Christians by Hausa/Fulanis, the situation closely resembles the one that existed before the Biafran war. The Aburi Accord would have meant 'no Biafran war' if it had been honourned by the Fed then. A middle belt full scale war could start any moment because the Fed has no answer for Boko Haram or the daily killings by Fulnis in parts of Benue, Nassarawa, Plateau & Kaduna States. Aburi can again help us avoid another Biafra. MIDDLE BELT people are clearly being pushed & provoked without cause.
Politics / Muslim Lawyers Association Unfair To Demand Sharia In The South Of Nigeria by JAROSALEMY: 7:14pm On Dec 15, 2011
A group, Muslim Lawyers Association of Nigeria (MULAN) rose from their 5th annual general conference in Kaduna State, declaring that they will ensure that the introduction of Sharia legal system in the southern states as enshrined in the 1999 Constitution. This is directly asking for trouble in the country because it is unfair.
