Phones / Re: Deceitful Offer From Jumia, Please Help!! by jasonnn9: 9:52am On Nov 26, 2020
Op i empathize with how you feel, if I was in your shoes I might even be more pissed off because I believe this issue arises from lack of clarity on the part of Jumia..even to the point of checking out your orders.

Someone has however previously given the terms and conditions attached to this promo.
So I would like to know.,
1. Is your MasterCard that of Standard IBTC Bank?
2. Is this your 1st transaction with the card on Jumia?

If yes to 1 alone, know that you are adequately qualified for this promo and you can even carry them to the Supreme Court and win on this matter flawlessly.
If yes to 2 alone, you qualified for the 5k discount regardless of which bank you use.
If yes to both, I don't know what that qualifies you for.

If no to 1, which is what I suspect is your case, then it's an error on the part of Jumia for misleading you in the checkout page that you were qualified.
But they will insist it was indicated on the terms and conditions so at the end of the day you will be the losing party.

So the only option really, if you really need that 10k is to cancel the order and find a cheaper offer as some nairalanders above have suggested.

A word?
Be careful of all these promos you see, please always endeavour to go through terms and conditions,so that issues will not arise. I learnt the hard way one particular time. Story for another day.

Remain blessed.
Education / Re: ASUU Strike Will Continue As Long As FG Withholds Our Salaries - Ogunyemi by jasonnn9: 7:51am On Oct 29, 2020
In 2012, when the NEEDS assessment of 16 universities were carried out, after much pressure, the government came out to say that it agreed with N1.3 trillion to be released over a period of six years, starting with the sum of N200 million in 2013. That was the only tranche the government released, which was spread over five years. Since 2017, we have been saying that the government should go back to pay the balance or come up with a new schedule for paying the balance of N1.1 trillion. The best we have got from the government was the release of N25 billion, then N20 billion as a sign of commitment, which does not address the fundamental issues because the spirit behind the MoU of 2013, which the Federal Government signed with ASUU, was the need to massively inject funds into public universities, but there are problems in terms of facilities and human capacities, among others.

If this does not explain to you why ASUU doesn't trust the Govt. I don't know what else will.
I mean, since 2013? An agreement reached has not been honoured? This shows the uncaring attitude that this Govt. not only towards education, but towards healthcare and security..which are vital foundations on which any successful society is built.

I weep for my country..governed by wickedness in the highest and lowest of places. cry

You see why I've been saying it is no longer a protest but civil unrest? Infact it legally ceased to be a protest the moment curfew was imposed.

It's unfortunate that the situation has reached this level. However, Nigerian army acted within the ambience of the law.

Section 33 sub 2 of Nigerian constitution has justified their act:

The section states;
(2) A person shall not be regarded as having been deprived of his life in contravention of this section, if he dies as a result of the use, to such extent and in such circumstances as are permitted by law, of such force as is reasonably necessary –

(a) for the defence of any person from unlawful violence or for the defence of property:

(b) in order to effect a lawful arrest or to prevent the escape of a person lawfully detained; or

(c) for the purpose of suppressing a riot, insurrection or mutiny

Is Peaceful Protest the same as riot, insurrection or mutiny?

Naija youths......
WHAT TO DO FOR NOW?
I suggest that YOU back out of the protest for now.
The Nigerian youths have made their presence felt and their voices heard.
A wise performer leaves the stage when the ovation is high.
Let's not allow bad eggs to spoil our achievements so that we can successfully build on this in subsequent months and years

Peaceful protest is the way to go.

I really pray so too.

So after seeing all these deaths, this is what you can say?

May God judge you

Good day Nairalanders.
Truly you don't really value what you have until you lose it. This has been my case concerning my infinix note 4 pro charging life.
The original charger got burnt following to a power surge and since then I have been searching for a suitable replacement to no avail. All the ones I have seen don't fast charge my phone..hence making them unsuitable for my use since my phone takes about 5,6 hours to reach 80 percent with them. With fast charge it takes less than an hour.
Please if you know where I can get a original infinix note 4 pro charger in Lagos.. I will be extremely greatful. Thanks.

Thank you.

Do you have idea how much they sell it please?

Hello. I have excatly the same issue you had concerning a new charger. Please where u able to get the original infinix note 4 pro charger at the carlcare center you went to? Because I went to the carlcare center at apapa and they gave me a charger that didn't fast charge. I was beginning to lose hope then stumbled on this tread.
I eagerly await your response. Thanks
