Hi guys. Please I need help regarding the new portal system. Before someone can apply for an appointment is it compulsory they already have the block account documents ready? |
Thekingsimon:Typically yes you do for English taught courses but it depends on the school you apply to whether you need a language certificate as Proof of English proficiency. Check with the school you are applying to what certificates they accept Either IELTS/TOEFL or Letter of English language proficiency from your university. |
Joanlaura:No, Just follow the checklist on the website and if you have primary school certificate add it. Original and one photocopy |
Joanlaura:To them your original documents are your certificates, one of a kind, not easily replaceable, those are what you will get back from them while things like admission letter you got from a portal are not originals, Blocking confirmation etc are other documents which are not returned back . So don't worry it's fine to take black and white of the admission letter. You won't have any issues. |
Joanlaura:It is the declaration form. If you used VIDEX to generate it, It will come with it and you just sign it. But if you used the printed one you will need to print the declaration separately and sign. |
WpressBeginner:They are right. That's the best advice you can get cause if you go there with incomplete documents, they will send you back. But hopefully it can happen that Fintiba can send it this night around that 2 am. Just make sure to keep your eyes on your email for updates. |
Don't yet print, wait for blocking confirmation. It is the confirmation they want at the embassy. It will not take up to 2 weeks mostly 2 days. You will probably get the confirmation by Thursday give or take if your documents passes their checks. Juggernauts: |
MimiChikooo:It is sufficient. Just make sure you submit the full insurance documents. |
Chriswazo:You can pay with card too. They have POS that will be brought in during the interview. Just make sure you have the naira equivalent for the visa fee of 75 Euro. |
Chriswazo:No, Scratch pin is not required. Just your original WAEC Certificate |
Chriswazo:I typed mine out and signed it. No issues with doing that. |
Hey guys, please I'm curious After all the submission, interview and approval mail, do they send your passport stamped with the visa along with your documents using the prepaid courier envelope or they just send your original documents and you will wait for a mail from the consulate to come and collect your passport on a certain date? |
Chriswazo:My transfer was from Nigeria but didn't take long to reach them 24hrs for transfer and for verification of funds, the overall process plus rejection of the first source of funds document and the resubmission and the acceptance barely took 2 days. I understand why they want to confirm and do thorough checks. We are sending high amounts of money from a high risk place where money laundering and such is prominent. Even if we are sending it from Germany, how did we get such amounts of money? I understand that the process can be frustrating and anxiety inducing especially when your date is getting closer and closer but it is needed for due diligence. Even when doing Transfers from any bank in Nigeria, they ask for source of funds. They don't flag it cause they have your account history and details to verify on their end. For the others reading and are not sure which blocked account provider to use, just make sure to remain calm, do your research well, plan for any setbacks so as to avoid being blindsided and reach out to the people on this platform for more information if you're still not sure. They have been really helpful for me trying to understand the whole visa process. |
MimiChikooo:You can email me. |
MimiChikooo:It was up to a year. Yeah, I indicated using the colour highlighting tool. I just marked the incoming payments that led up to the blocked amount using one color and the outgoing payment for blocked account using another color. |
MimiChikooo:I also had that problem but I was able to provide source of funds by combining the person's employment contract, work certificate and account statement highlighting all the funds that came in to make up the amount all in one pdf. Hope this helps. |
Freebys:The Embassy/consulate takes the following documents as proof of finances 1. Blocked account with the amount of 11904 euros 2. Sponsorship Letter 3. Scholarship Letter So you either block the money in an account in Germany using blocked account providers such as Fintiba, Expatio etc. But my Recommendation: If he's going to sponsor your stay, I think you should do Sponsorship Letter instead. Anyone can correct me if I am wrong |
You can also either convert naira to euro then do international transfer at your bank, that is if you don't have euro (ask your bank how long it will take so that you won't be delayed) or if you use another blocked account provider like Fintiba, you can directly transfer it in your local currency at an "affordable rate" to them for your blocked account confirmation (credit card) instantly.
