Yes, they could be faster but they cannot override the i series so forget about clock speed if PERFORMANCE is what you are after.

My archaic core i3 (2310m) clocked at 2.1Ghz with two cores and four threads performed far better than me friend's Intel Pentium clocked at 2.3Ghz (these new Pentium chips with HD graphics). They guy could not run so many games like PES 2016 and Hitman Absolution, etc.... These games worked smoothly on my core i3.

The i series from Intel is their flagship chip for consumers so they remain the best. Even with me ULV i series (new i series used in thinner Pcs which consumes less power than the main stream i series and therefore performs lower) with TDP of 15watts are a force to recon with.

I do not know if thr fault was from me but aftervan OTA (update) i saw DOUBLE_TAP to wake option under on-screen gestures... It was really satisfying....

MKX mobile also works flawlessly here (for gaming enthusiasts).

This device is sure the best bang-for-the-buck for devices costing less than 50k in the Nigerian market right now IMHO.

A few shots for your eyes

It is with great delight that i introduce the budget infinix hot 3 LTE smart phone. You can't blame me for i was just too curious coz i really wanted to see how well a snapdragon chip will work on an infinix device as this is the first time Infinix will be turning to SD.

There are two versions of the Infinix hot 3 in the market right now, the older version (x554) which features 1GB of ram coupled with an entery level processor MT6580 and the latest version (x553) which comes with 2GB ram and a mid range processor SD415. Of course the processor and Ram aren't the only differences.

The infinix x553 varaint also has a 13mp + 5mp camera setup as opposed to the 8mp +2mp camera setup in the older x554.

The device is a dual sim dual standby device with 16GB internal storage memory. The back cover of the device can be detached revealing the micro SD card slot and slots for two micro sims. The device ships with android lollipop out of the box.

It is worthy of note the new infinit hot 3 supports 4G/LTE.

I do not have the older version close but i must confess that this new device is smooth to operate, light-weight and with a HD screen (1280x720p) which is not battery hungry. The included battery is a 3000mah battery.

I ran antutu benchmark app on it and it did well for its price scoring around 32,000. I can't complain about this score but my LG G3 is not going on sale anytime soon.

The only grip i have with it so far is that DOUBLE-TAP to sleep is present while DOUBLE-TAP to wake isn't. Infinix can't be this cheap. I hope an update can fix this.

For those who may be wondering i got the device after parting ways with #42,000.

In the long run its more profitable to get phones with large internal storage (32GB and up) as opposed to cloud storage especially in Nigeria where data subscription costs aren't friendly.

You are good. The main aim of asking for the number was so i could ask them of any Gionee center located in the northern part of Nigeria as i was made to believe the whole package usually costs around 15k. My God will surprise you. Thanks once again.

I had the same issue some days back,i even performed a hard reset on the phone,it worsened.I called a friend working at gionee care shop ibadan to complain about the screen flickeing issue, and he told me to bring it.I took it there and they checked for the warranty seal(a shiny silver square sticker) under the battery.I left the phone there thinking it would take time,It was so surprising when they called me in 2 hrs time to come get the phone.Apparently,it was the screen itself that was faulty,so they replaced it with brand-new screen..Free!Find time to take it to d one in Mokola,Ibadan.. Their service is commendable.If you have opened the phone somewhere else,or broken d warranty seal..you would be asked to pay for the repair.

Now i can heave a sigh of relief. I thought the flickering ish was due to my persistent toying with the phone. Pls share the contact number of the said Care center and save a life.. Thanks plenty..

Now I have to punch in every single letter when typing out messages n my phone(isn't fun I must confess)when I'm supposed to have options and all

You could download other keyboards from playstore like; Swift keyboard, Go keyboard... In fact just goto playstore and type KEYBOARD..

I was talking about opening the update zip file with winrar or the like and editing the build prop before update then save ghee new zip file. I'm yet to try this sha... The temporary solution is to delete your message center number...
I reverted to lollipop sha as i cannot survive without root access.

I'm having charging problems with my splus
It's now taking so long to charge.. I've been charging for 3 straight hours now and it's still just 19 percent.

Buy a USB Type C cable so you have 2 cables. The phone selectes cables sometimes. You're advised to keep the original cable coz its best for flashing the device and data transfer between PC and phone. Again after some weeks (just like in my case) you'll discover that the old cable charges faster than the new cable. GIONEE.
