No bro, i only quoted another nairalander's post because it relates with me.. currently i am self employed , a photographer to be precise but i will be telling my vo i currently work at my former job where i resigned few months back so if I'm to say after my studies i will be coming to work at xoxo place and the Vo asks for proof of return which i don't have..won't it raise a red flag..or does showing proof of return really grant a successful interview? please help a bro

You should convince them about your intention to return to your current job, and then transit to other companies in the long term. Mixing up these plans may create a certain impression that you don't have a clear cut career goal.

Your response on Why MBA sounds hackneyed and is replete with grammatical lapses. Leave out those generic aspects and identify the things that meet your appeal for this course. I couldn't see reasons with you in those responses.

I'm also uncomfortable with your response to Why Ashland. Why did you talk about rank here when the school and the course is not top ranked in principle? Please, drop the issue of affordability here and talk about what makes their program a 'high quality' as you claimed. If you're able to justify their high quality of learning, you've earned the score.

As for your plan after the program. Your current job is your best economic tie. You need to let them see how much you value Jocereg Ltd. But talking about your plans for Jocereg and the likes of maxline, Costco in one fell swoop doesn't sure purpose and direction. You may be denied at this point for lacking strong home ties.

Again, on Sponsorship... Why are your two elder sisters sponsoring you? While it is not out of place, be ready to let them in some more regarding your sponsors.

Pls Note: The name "Kunle" below is a guy who wanted to school in US for his masters.

Each 5 point-scale GPA has its own
equivalent on the 4-point scale. As the 5-point
GPA reduces so does the 4-point GPA. And no,
the credit units are not reduced or increased
during conversion. The only things changed are
the grades and grade units.
For eg, FOR WES translation ,
our A is their A = 4 points.
Our B is their B+ = 3.5 points.
Our C is B = 3.0 points.
Our D is C+ = 2.5 points.
Our E is their C = 2.0 points and
Our F is F = 0.
For WES' conversion list, there are no Ds and Es
on their US 4-point scale. All our Ds and Es are
converted to C+ and C respectively thus adding
extra points to the person's equivalent new
CGPA. That's why WES is considered the best.
Now, the higher the CGPA, the lower the add in
extra points to the final because the 5-point GPA
is likely to have more As, Bs and Cs than Ds and
Es(the very two which add extra points to the
overall). And the lower the CGPA the more the
add in possible points from Ds and Es because
the person's transcripts is likely to have more Ds
and Es than the first example, thus adding a little
more points to the person's 4-point CGPA since
the many Ds and Es will be converted to higher
C+ and C.
I'll give you a quick break down of Naija GPAs
I've seen converted by WES to the 4-Point scale
so you can quickly place for yourself where
3.08/5.0 will land.
Nigeria. US
4.10/5.0. 3.53/4.0
4.08/5.0. 3.52/4.0
3.73/5.0. 3.37/4.0
3.68/5.0. 3.29/4.0(Your own conversion.
3.20/5.0. 3.06/4.0(Kunle's conversion)
3.12/5.0. 3.05/4.0
2.99/5.0. 2.99/4.0
2.33/5.0. 2.50/4.0
Look above and see the linear relationship.
Notice the falling pattern of the 5-point scale
and its equivalent falling pattern on the 4-point
scale. Its a linear relationship. Now look at the
scale and estimate the range 3.08/5.0 on 4-point
scale will fall on? Your guess is as good as mine.
@Kunle : remember when you sent in your
transcripts to WES for evaluation and you were
waiting for it to come out, I told you on bbm that
your new CGPA will between 3.05 to 3.10? And
when it came out and it was 3.06? You told me
when it came out and remember I told you I
wasn't surprised that knew it would fall within
that range. This was because before then my
friend who had 3.12/5.0 had converted his own
and got 3.05/4.0. And because your own 5-point
scale CGPA, 3.20/5.0 was higher than his
3.12/5.0, I definitely knew your 4-point equivalent
will be higher than the 3.05/4.0 which my friend
got.
Likewise, 3.08/5.0 will be lower than 3.05/4.0 but
won't fall below 3.0/4.0 since 2.99/5.0 fell on
2.99/4.0. The range will be between (3.0 to
3.05)/4.0.
Observe that its a linear ratio thing. I guess the
confusion comes from the fact that the CGPA
3.08/5.0 is second class lower and its 4-point
equivalent, 3.0/4.0 is considered second class
upper on the 4-point scale. That's how it is.
Kunle's 3.20/5.0 is second class lower but also
turned out to be 3.06 which is higher than
3.0/4.0 and which is second class upper on the
4-point scale.
3.08/5.0 isn't much different from 3.20/5.0 and
should give something close to Kunle's 4-point
3.06/4.0 in accordance to the law of linearity
and mathematics. Hence, I don't expect such a
huge downward plunge in the new CGPA
equivalent, such as 2.5/4.0 to 2.60/4.0 as Kunle
projected.

me that finished with 2.76 on a scale of 5.0 what can my cgpa be on a scale of 4.0 if converted by wes? thank you

mine were both ND an HND transcripts, I'II categorically tell it was higer to a scale of 4.0, I did a total of 180 semester credit in all undergraduate course, but so I don't know of yours,

it doesn't work like that, WES don't evaluate transcript based on your final cgpa, WES evaluates your transcript based on the total courses you took, total undergraduate semester credit and the grade you earned, that is why they called it course-by-coure evaluation, and they convert it to US equivalency on a scale of 4.0, so the total number courses I took, my credit hour, and grade I earned is very different from yours, not based on cgpa.

Hmm thanks for the insight, i really want to ask the last question if you don't mind, was your evaluated CGPA higer than the one you evaluated or was vice versa?? thank you.

once you see "waiting verification from your institution" just know that WES have sent your credentials to your school for verification by e-mail, contact your school again,.again and again until they find it, in my case I had the same issue & challenge with my school not UNIBEN, when my status change to "awaiting verification from institution" I called the office in my school in charge of trancript, they say they haven't received any msg from WES, I contacted WES by online msg from my profile, WES resend it, yet the same issue, WES send it again, I had to travelled to my school, I started moving from one office to another asking how do they receive previous message from WES , untill I found the right office, I later discovered from their system WES sent it to my school 2 months ago thrice,yet my School keep on telling me they not seen it, WES do sent your verification credentials electronically by e-mail, just go again with your names you registered with WES, and your WES reference code and some cash for payment, ask for the right office that do WES verification, the issue is not WES here is your school, from experience in my own case.

please i am still on this wes verification, my school is yet to send the verification back to wes, i want to ask what was your converted cgpa on a scale on 4.0 so that i can have an idea of what mine will be.. i have a cgpa of 2.78 on a scale of 5.0, can you please tell me yours in other to have an idea.. Waiting from verification from your institution means Wes has sent your certificate and raw scores to your school to verify. Your documents is currently with your institution and they need to write verify on it stamp and email it back to Wes. You will have to go to your school to ensure they send it back to Wes. Mine went through same verification process , spent two weeks at my institution because my school wanted Wes to remit 100dollars to the schools account, I called Wes and they informed me theyve never played any school for verification that candidate are to make payment if the school insisted. I ended up paying my school a 100 us dollars after paying wes 291 dollars for the initial evaluation. It was after I payed my school that they verified my document and emailed it back to Wes. After which it took Wes 7 working days to complete my transcript evaluation. So my dear go to your school and tell them Wes has sent ur credentials back for verification and you don't know why they haven't verified. Same office for applied for transcript will tell you what do so it will be verified. All the best.
