Has anyone been approved for their F1 visa at the Lagos embassy gotten their passport back since late march?

Please reply if you have or know anyone who has.. so we can know if the delays are general

Or has anyone here had this experience where after visa approval there’s a delay of more than two weeks in receiving the “passport is ready message”?

Responses/experiences from past visa approved folks would be greatly appreciated.

Has anyone who got their visa approved since March 24th till date, (for F-1 visa (Fall 2025)) gotten the “Passport is ready” message?.

CEAC has been on “refused” (processing) for a number of Fall 2025 students. Anyone experiencing similar?

I got my visa approved last week Tuesday.. but I am yet to get an info on my passport pick up..

How long does this typically take?

(There was public holiday monday and tuesday tho)

You can use the Pay4Me App to pay for your SEVIS Fee.

You would pay them in naira, the $350 plus a service charge. The rate of conversion is usually displayed.

They would ask for your SEVIS payment coupon to be uploaded.

Also my School session starts September 2025 and I put Lagos as Visa Locatiion in both my DS-160 and also on AVITS.

Now time to book for interview and I see February 2026 as available appointment date.

I am guessing a lot students resuming September in Lagos are also experiencing the same thing.

What do I do about this?

I hear visa dates will cme out later but is that not risky to end up worsening the February 2026 to later in 2026

I walked into a bank to pay via Western Union as indicated in my print-out but I was told Western Union payment no longer works in Nigeria.

How did you guys go about paying for your SEVIS fees? Responses would be appreciate

With The current fluctuation of the bank rate with usd and CaD how can one know what to use for POF. CaD is currently above 600 and usd above 800

I would also like to ask about sponsorship. I’m really confused on this

My mothers cousin (different surnames) lives in the USA and she’s agreed to be my sponsor. I’m not sure how to show proof of relationship with her.

However I have a 4 childhood photos of my mother and her cousin long before she went to US.

Documents I wanna submit

Letter of sponsorship
Notarized affividat of sponsorship
Her employment letter
Employment ID card
Bank statements showing her salaries
Childhood photos of her and my mum

Is there any need to create a valuation report since it’s not a building property?
