1. API PLANT INSPECTORS
The API Plant Inspector, must possess a strong understanding of mechanical integrity, inspection techniques, and compliance with API codes, typically supported by relevant certifications like API 510, 570, or 653. Familiarity with inspection tools, non-destructive testing (NDT) equipment, and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) is essential. Attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and effective communication abilities set outstanding inspectors apart. These skills and qualifications are crucial for ensuring plant safety, regulatory compliance, and the reliable operation of industrial facilities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform and document inspections (VT, UT, PT, MT) on piping, tanks, and pressure vessels.
Ensure compliance with OSHA, API (510/570/653), ASME, ANSI, and NBIC standards.
Analyze inspection results, track corrosion rates, and set re-inspection frequencies.
Create repair plans and recommend corrective actions for equipment and piping.
Support reliability, failure analysis, welding procedures, and project inspections.
Oversee third-party inspectors and advanced NDE techniques.
Maintain inspection records in SAP or other systems.
Provide technical input for inspections, welding, repairs, and equipment testing.

QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or equivalent (associate degree preferred).
3+ years of experience in inspection/repair of stationary equipment or piping in chemical, oil & gas, or food/beverage industries.
API 510/570/653 certifications.
Knowledge of mechanical integrity, pressure vessels, and safety devices.
Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
SAP/CMMS experience preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Lift up to 60 lbs., climb, bend, and work in confined spaces or at heights.
Must be available for overtime and shutdowns as needed.
Work safely around hazardous chemicals and high temperatures (up to 2400F)
Must be willing to relocate to Lagos at their own cost, or resident in Lagos.
2. NDT TECHNICIANS
NDT Level II/Level III
The NDT Technician is responsible for performing nondestructive testing (NDT) methods including ultrasonic testing (UT), magnetic particle testing (MT), liquid penetrant testing (PT), and visual testing (VT). This role involves inspecting piping, pressure vessels, and structural components in both offshore and onshore environments, ensuring compliance with safety standards, industry codes, and client specifications. The technician also supports and mentors trainees and Level I personnel.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Conduct UT Shear Wave inspections and other NDT methods on industrial equipment and structures.
Analyze inspection data to identify defects or irregularities.
Maintain accurate and detailed inspection reports.
Operate and calibrate NDT equipment to ensure reliable results.
Follow strict safety protocols and procedures.
Mentor and guide Level I technicians and trainees.
Communicate inspection findings clearly to clients and team members.
Ensure compliance with industry standards such as API, ASME, and AWS.
Assist with job planning, including equipment setup and execution.
Travel to remote locations, including offshore platforms, as required.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
Minimum of 2 years of documented experience in UT Shear Wave inspections.
Certification or eligibility for certification to ASNT-TC-1A Level II in UT, MT, PT, and VT.
Strong analytical and reporting skills.

3. ROPE ACCESS TECHNICIANS
The successful candidates will be responsible for performing various tasks at height: NDT, Welding, Painting etc.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform rope access work at various heights, including inspection, maintenance, and repair tasks.
Operate hand tools and power tools effectively and safely.
Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and adherence to safety standards.
Maintain equipment and tools in good working condition, reporting any issues promptly.
Follow all health and safety regulations while working at height, ensuring personal and team safety at all times.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
IRATA Level II/III with technical expertise in any of following: NDT, Welding, Painting, Insulation etc.
Strong analytical and reporting skills.

Dear Comrades,

l got an info from a reliable source that NNPC will only recruit 350 applicants for both Trainee and EH candidates. As a result of this limited number, there are clashes of interests on fielding of candidates against the normal recruitment procedure by BIG OGAs.
This was what led to the suspension of the exercise and not logistics arrangement as claims by NNPC. PCL did a good job but their list may not sail through at the end of the day.
I will advice all fatefuls to go extremely spiritual as to avert the devices of the BIG OGAs, and let TRANSPARENCY and JUSTICE reign. Good luck to you all.
