Christianity EtcRe: Still A Christian? When Was The Last Time You Did Any Of These? by JayRise(m): 6:27pm On Mar 20, 2016
@emusmith, modify your post. Jesus didn't have grace to do all he did. He's the bringer of grace. He died so we could have the grace to do more than he did. Nice write-up though.
InvestmentRe: Can Someone On Nairaland Help Me With A Loan Of 150k? by JayRise(m): 8:41pm On Mar 11, 2016
Naturalclown:
Hello Nairalanders!
It would be better to voice out in humility than to perish with pride. My names are Babajide Moses Ekundayo and I am 18.

Actually, I graduated from high school two years back, took Jamb twice, passed Jamb twice, took UI post Jamb twice, didn't meet cutoff and not admitted. After my second failed attempt, my dad got tired of me and told me I should find my way that he can't keep on wasting his hard-earned money on me.

I tried to find a job and unfortunately, I got one. The reason it was unfortunate is that the man I worked for as a blogger didn't pay me my first month salary in two months so I quit(he payed the money little by little).

Ever since I left him, I didn't look for any other job cos most bosses are physical and financial oppressors. Then, I looked for ways be my Boss... I then decided to go into online Job. I told my dad but he wasn't even willing to get me a laptop. I want to kick-start a powerful blog and I have found an awesome niche. When I even call my uncles, they'll tell me that they will call back yet they won't. If I chat with them, they'll snub me. So I need someone on Nairaland to please help me with a loan. I will be the collateral and would pay back with interest in one and half years. Please!

With this, I should be able to sponsor myself to school after repaying. Thanks.
If I give you 150k, what are the expenditures you'll make in the first 3 months. List them here let me see.

@richieboi1, it's not that I prefer the Gionee phone o. I ordered this phone directly from the US. Just consider the stress and the exchange rate shit happening in Nigeria right now and you'll understand what I went through to order for this beautiful phone. The phone just arrived at a time when I'm down on cash and I need to sell it to recoup as much as I can.

Hello, is the area in Lagos? Maybe I can come around for a survey to see if I can start something up there
EducationRe: I Hate Being Smart! by JayRise(m): 8:15pm On Jan 12, 2016
@mathschic, I think you mean the difference between SCHOOL SMARTs and STREET SMARTs. While one is about impart, the other is about impact. But all the same, you do not really need to have regrets about being smart in school as that doesn't decrease your chances of survival after leaving school.

If you are really determined to be useful with the knowlege you have, then you'll find yourself becoming STREET SMART even without trying. You can become successful too, but know this. Only your practice will make you perfect. Go out, create something useful and show the world what you've got. Cheers!

RomanceRe: Not Everyone Will Find Love by JayRise(m): 2:23am On Dec 15, 2015
[quote author=mentorandfriend post=41004256][What If You Don't Find Love?]

There are no what ifs. We'll always find love. Reason is, we are 'love beings' created by love(God is love).

[Deep down, all of us want to be loved by the RIGHT person.]

Yea. I'm loved by the RIGHT people : Myself, My Creator, My family and so are you.

[...yet not everyone will be loved truly and sincerely]

Wrong. There is yet someone who loves you like you've never imagined! You may not find this someone, but it doesn't mean you are not loved.

[Not everyone who gives all will receive all in return]

Firstly, no one can give all. You can only give your best as it seem. But I theresay, love can also be found in giving, and not only in expecting reciprocity. When you give truly, when you love truly, you've found love.

[Not everyone who deserves love will find it]

There is no reason to deserve love or be entitled to love. It's not a prize. We are 'love beings' and we do not need to toil to feel loved. It's in our hearts, it's in every fibre of our being. Whether you give or receive, you will definitely feel loved. It just depends on which one you prioritize.

[..But you must not give up on love because it is a universal need]

We do not have the power to give up on love. Love made us. Love is in us and love is us.

Love is not a need. Our hearts actively seek avenues for expressing our love. This can either be in the way of giving or receiving love. Either way, we'll feel loved.

[Truth is that you need to [receive] love in order to reach your highest potential]

Love. It's in you. It's in me. It's in all of us. You can choose to give love or receive love as you will, but it's not a criteria that you must receive love to fulfill your potentials.

[To that end, you have to find someone who loves you and who you feel same way for]

To that end you have to find someone you love and who feels the same way for you.

[So how can you find that one person among the over 7 billion other people on earth?]

The single best way to find that person is not to find that person. Focus your energies on giving your best to the world. Work on your passion. Pursue your dreams. Love those who love you and Love those who don't love you. When the time is right, nature will align in your path that someone who believes in everything you stand for. Someone who sees the best in your faults. Someone who understands you when no one does and someone who sees that tiny light growing in your darkness.

Bottom line : You don't search for true love. True love will find you. It is guaranteed as long as you keep giving and expressing that little love glowing in your heart.

BusinessRe: Barbing Salon Vs Cybercafe/business Centre With 500k Capital. Advice Needed!! by JayRise(op): 12:07pm On Dec 06, 2015
simpleman:
Firstly, i want to say that if you will be away from your business (whether saloon or cafe ) most of the time, don't even start any. That is the most important advise i can give. These are small businesses and your staff will steal you blind and put you out of business before you know it. and it doesn't matter whether it is your brother/sister you put to manage it.
Secondly, you must be able to maintain the systems yourself or you could be frustrated out of the business.

However, if you can manage to be there 90% of the time, i prefer a cafe business, because of the output. a good cafe will make 10k to 15k everyday depending on the location. i operate one presently. it is true that people have access to internet at home so the internet access aspect of the cafe is not as profitable as before. but people still come to do other services, like printing, scanning of documents, photocopy, bulk sms, registrations, job applications, and so on. and during times for registrations or job applications, you could be making 20k to 25k daily for short periods of time. And remember, a well respected cafe/business center could provide a respectable platform for other businesses like mobile money transfer, result checker cards sales, etc

I don't own a saloon so i don't know how much they make a day. but seeing that in my area, i have about 5 barbing saloons, i doubt they can make 5k a day each.

Please heed my first 2 points strongly. Good Luck.
Thanks a lot. Will consider this

If One Start the barbing salon business...Howmuch is the maximum amount to be delivered weekly?...And what is the probality of getting a babber as soon possible?? and what are the means of getting a babber??
To know an extimate of the amount to be delivered per week, you may have to sacrifice your time and stay with your workers for the first 2 weeks. From there, you can determine the average income per week from the shop. This is the amount your workers will be expected to deliver per week.

To get a barber, simply place a written note on your shop gate stating "barbers wanted" with your phone number. You may conduct a simple check to verify and choose the right workers for your business. This is what I plan to do. Hope this works...

Please can you tell us what you mean by deploying a technology to keep count?...What type of technology are you talking about?
e.g. I plan to mount a camera in the shop to monitor worker's activities.

Please bro go for a barber shop, I would have said other wise coz am an IT person but here are my reasons;

. People can now access the internet from their homes and even print document while people must cut their hair even if they have a clipper, they must meet a professional barber 'you'

. You make more money from a barber shop than a business center/cafe coz u are servicing a compulsory necessity that must be observed by the people for instance a barber charges a minimum of 200 naira, if you are able to service 100 people in a day that's 20k, I don't think u will make that kind of money in a business center
Thanks bro. I think realistically, I will be able to get at least 10 customers a day. Which will give me a minimum of 2k per day/60k per month, if not more...

Average Nigerian who isn't even a tech savvy has access to the internet one way or the other. I can't remember the last time I check in a cybercafe. Meanwhile, I call on my barber every 2 weeks or even less.

Besides, I'm a barber, who has some knowledge in the industry. I will be investing up to 10M+ in this business pretty soon. People, particularly men will always need the service of a barber.

Funnily, we command Kings and Presidents cheesy Don't ask me how.
Thanks. What of the business center aspect?

Go for Barbing Salon a beg u in God's name. Business centre/cyber cafe may make you BP rise. I have been there. You end up robbing Peter to pay Paul. Pls heed to my candid advice. Go for Barbing Salon, get a professional barber and agree on weekly delivery say 5k per week but he will pay NEPA bill, waste bill, LGA fees etc. Sack him if he fails to deliver and get another person. This will give u peace of mind. Good luck!
Thanks and God bless.

Hello gurus in the house. I want to invest about 500k in either of these two businesses : A barbing salon or a cyber cafe/business center. Can anyone help me with some advice based on past experiences in any of the business?

I do not intend to be very active in the business as I will be busy with other engagements. Hence, I need advice on the one that will require less scrutiny from me. Thanks all. Expecting matured responses.
