A Chief Magistrates’ Court in Minna, Niger State, has sentenced one Adamu Mohammed to four years imprisonment for raping six boys through the anus.
Mohammed was docked on a count charge of an unnatural offence, contrary to section 284 of the penal code law.

The Police Prosecutor, ASP. Daniel Ikwoche told the court that the matter was reported to the Chanchaga station on the 6 of October by one Yusuf Buhari.


According to Ikwoche, the complainant accused Mohammed of luring his 10-year-old son into his room at Korokpa village, Minna where he anally raped him.

When further investigations were carried out, it revealed that the accused also committed the same act on different occasions with five other boys between the ages of 10 and 12 years, all of Korokpa area.

When the charge was read to him, he pleaded guilty and begged for leniency.

However, the prosecutor, pleaded with the court to try him summarily in line with section 157 of the Criminal Procedure Code.


The presiding magistrate, Nasiru Muazu in his ruling, sentenced the accused to four years in prison with hard labour without an option of fine.

Cardi B made herself available to the New York police today, the NBC Channel 4 News reports.

This is in line with her role in the strip club fight that happened in August. At the fight, she allegedly ordered an attack with bottles and chairs on two bartenders and sisters, Jade and Baddie Gi for sleeping with her husband, Offset.

The sisters were injured but refused medical treatment promising to sue her.

According to several reports, she turned herself in before 10 am. Cardi B will be chaged with reckless endangerment and disorderly conduct.

“Whether she’s a famous rapper or a common street hood, she’s got to be held accountable for her criminal actions. It’s as simple as that: She ordered the beating after threatening my clients and later participated in an assault against them.” Joseph Tacopino, the girls’ lawyers said.

A last-minute effort by the wife of the Lagos State Governor, Bolanle Ambode, to save her husband’s job was said to have hit a brick wall on Tuesday.

It was gathered that Bolanle, who followed Governor Akinwunmi Ambode to Osun State on Monday for the Tuesday’s All Progressives Congress’ mega rally for the state governorship candidate, Gboyega Oyetola, waylaid the National Leader of the APC, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, and tried to pacify him to change his mind.

Sources told our correspondents that her efforts did not yield any result as Tinubu was said to have “received her cordially and joked with her.”

“At a point, she became emotional despite the fact that many party leaders were there. But Asiwaju (Tinubu) did not give her the answer she desired. He merely treated her with courtesy,” one of the sources said.

The governor and Tinubu have been in the news in the past few days over the second term bid of Ambode.

Tinubu had refused to back Ambode’s second term ambition despite pleas by notable people in the state and the country.

Instead, the Tinubu-led Mandate Movement in the Lagos APC had backed Babajide Sanwo-Olu, who obtained his form last Tuesday.

The chairmen of the 57 councils had also declared support for Sanwo-Olu.

Sawo-Olu, a former commissioner in the state on Sunday formally declared his intention to vie for the Lagos State governorship ticket of the APC, promising to restore the glory of the state.

Notable APC leaders in the state, who were either allies of Tinubu or his followers, were at the declaration.

Meanwhile, sources said the Mandate group had started wooing another aspirant on the APC platform, Dr Obafemi Hamzat.

It was gathered that Tinubu’s men wanted Hamzat, who is from the Lagos East like Ambode, to become the deputy governor with a promise that he would supervise a ministry and also nominate two commissioners into the cabinet.

Hamzat campaign team could not be reached on Tuesday for comment.

PSP operators declare support for Sanwo-Olu

In a related development, the Association of Waste Managers of Nigeria on Tuesday made public its intention to support Sanwo-Olu.

The Lagos APC will hold its primary next week to decide who will be its governorship candidate in 2019 election among the incumbent Ambode, Sanwo-Olu, and Hamzat.

At a press conference in their Mushin office on Tuesday, the PSP operators said they believed that Sanwo-Olu, if voted in to replace Ambode, would restore their jobs which the incumbent administration took and gave to a foreign company, Visionscape.

The Vice Chairman of the association, Mr David Oriyomi, who addressed journalists alongside other executive members of AWAM, said the decision to back Sanwo-Olu, was in the interest of about 25,000 workers engaged by the 350 PSP operators, who had lost their jobs.

Oriyomi said the association boasts of no fewer than 150,000 voters at the grassroots, who would be mobilised to help Sanwo-Olu to achieve his governorship ambition.

He expressed the confidence that not only would the emergence of Sanwo-Olu as the next governor of Lagos State help to revive the business of the PSP operators, it would also restore Lagos to its former clean state.

He said, “This injustice should not be allowed to continue, the health and well-being of residents of Lagos must be paramount to all.

“It is, therefore, with great hope that we welcome the emergence of Sanwo-Olu, who has promised to run a participatory government.

“For this reason, we, the Association of Waste Managers of Nigeria, have decided to align ourselves with Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu and pledge our full support to him in the forthcoming elections.

“This decision was taken in the best interest of the environment. We remain committed to servicing the great residents of the centre of excellence. It is time to clean up our city; we did it before, we are able and willing to actualise the Lagos of our dreams.

“We did not just choose to support Sanwo-Olu; we looked at the aspirants. We have the incumbent, we have Femi Hamzat and we have Sanwo-Olu.

“The incumbent, we have seen what he has to offer when it comes to waste management in the state – there is nothing he can offer us.

“Then Hamzat, we have not heard much from his camp; but Sanwo-Olu named the issue of the environment as one of the critical issues that he is going to tackle,” Oriyomi said.

We’ve slowly been ramping up our car coverage here at wapnetrealm and I have to say, I couldn’t be happier about it. Reviewing smartphones is great, but it’s not quite the same as spending a week in a $100,000 luxury coupe. We’ve got plenty more planned — including an exciting look next month at a new $300,000 sports car with more than 600 hp — but I first wanted to turn back the clock a few months to May and June of this year.
I first spent time with the Lexus LC 500 late last year, and I was floored by how impressive this car was. Luxury is obviously something we’ve come to expect from Lexus over the years, but it’s certainly not the first brand that comes to mind when one thinks of aggressive sport coupes. The LC was an absolute blast to drive though, and I even found myself pricing out leases at one point. I couldn’t get over how impressed I was with this beast from the East.
While I never ended up pulling the trigger and getting myself an LC, I couldn’t stop thinking about it. That’s why I was so excited earlier this year when I got to spend some more time with not one, but two new LC models from Lexus’ press fleet.

The LC is nothing short of a German luxury coupe wrapped in one of the most sleek and aggressive modern Japanese sports car designs I’ve ever seen. The throaty 5.0-liter V8 cranks out 471 horsepower and 398 lb-ft of torque, pushing the car to a top speed of 168 mph. That’s right, it’s a Lexus that does 168 mph.

To me, the LC’s handling was much more impressive than its speed. With a wide stance and curb weight of more than 4,300 lbs, Lexus’ sport coupe is glued to the ground. It hugs corners as well as any other car I’ve driven in its class — better than most, actually — and the perfectly contoured sport seats are more than just a luxury. They cradle the driver in all the right places and keep the torso perfectly still around quick turns.
My biggest problem with the LC 500 was the transmission. The 10-speed Sport Direct Shift automatic tranny was smooth as butter, but it was sadly also slow as molasses. Okay fine, that’s an exaggeration. The LC 500 simply wasn’t responsive enough though, and it was due entirely to the lag between the throttle and shifting. When you’re driving a $100,000 coupe and you stomp on the gas, you want to go now.
This was among the main reasons I was so interested in giving the other version of Lexus’ LC a test drive.
The Lexus LC 500h can easily be mistaken for an LC 500 on the road, but inside it’s a different beast entirely. The 5.0-liter V8 is replaced by a 3.5-liter V6 and a pair of electric motors that are combined in a very unique way. The LCh essentially has two entirely different transmissions, a continuously variable transmission (CVT) and a 4-speed automatic gearbox. Lexus calls its multi-stage hybrid transmission an “Electronically Controlled Continuously Variable transmission paired with four-speed automatic transmission,” and Car and Driver has an excellent explainer if you’re so inclined. Here’s a quick nibble:

The CVT half of Multi Stage is an evolution of the longitudinal hybrid transmission found in those Lexus sedans. The big difference in Multi Stage from the older transmission is the additional four-speed planetary gearbox attached at the CVT’s output. In the current GS and LS, MG2 gets a two-speed reduction, but in the Multi Stage the ICE drives MG1 and/or MG2 directly, but both MG2 and the ICE get the additional reduction of the four-speed auto. This keeps MG1 from hitting its redline, the cutoff for electric-only driving, and allows for EV driving as fast as 87 mph (up from 40 mph in the GS and LS).
Long story short, this is an evolution of the Toyota Hybrid Synergy Drive system Toyota first introduced all the way back in 1997. On steroids. And because I found the LC 500’s power to be far too inaccessible, I was very interested to see if the LC 500h and its advanced hybrid powertrain fared better.

First, the bad news: it doesn’t. Now, the good news: it’s no less responsive than the all-gas version of the car, and it’s surprisingly fast for hybrid V6.

Think about how crazy this is: the Lexus LC 500h is a 4,435-lb luxury coupe with a 356 hp hybrid V6 that’s only three-tenths slower to 60 mph than the 471 hp all-gas version. Wait, I’m not finished… it also has a combined fuel efficiency of 30 mpg!
The 5.0-liter V8 in the LC 500 gets a combine 19 miles to the gallon, and that’s perfectly fine. But the LC 500h offers similar performance, the same insanely good handling, the same wonderfully luxurious interior, the same beautifully aggressive styling, and gas mileage that is more than 50% better. Lexus says the LCh gets 26 mpg in the city and 35 mpg on the highway, which compares to 16 mpg and 26 mpg for the V8.
I’d still like to get a little more speed out of a $100,000 coupe, but I felt the exact same way about the V8. Lexus’ LC 500h really did surprise me, though. I would have never thought that a V6 hybrid could go toe to toe with a 5.0-liter V8, but I sure believe it now. To get this kind of performance out of a V6 hybrid is beyond impressive, and it has me pricing out leases yet again.

Vanessa Marquez, an actress best known for her role as a nurse on “ER,” was shot and killed by South Pasadena police on Thursday, authorities confirmed on Friday.
Officers were called to Marquez’s home in the 1100 block of Fremont Avenue by a landlord to check on her welfare. When the officers arrived around 12 p.m., she was suffering from seizures and appeared unable to take care of herself. Officers called out paramedics and a mental health clinician, and continued to talk with her. After about 90 minutes, Marquez, 49, armed herself with a BB gun and pointed it at the officers, causing them to open fire, said Sheriff’s Lt. Joe Mendoza.
Mendoza told reporters that Marquez appeared to be going through “mental problems” and seemed to be “gravely disabled.”


She appeared in “Stand and Deliver” in 1998, and in 27 episodes of “ER” as nurse Wendy Goldman.
Last October, Marquez alleged that she was blacklisted from “ER” by co-star George Clooney after complaining of racial discrimination and sexual harassment.


“Clooney helped blacklist me when I spoke up abt harassment on ER.’women who dont play the game lose career’I did,” she wrote on Twitter.
Clooney issued a statement at the time saying he had nothing to do with casting on the show.
“I had no idea Vanessa was blacklisted,” he said. “I take her at her word. I was not a writer or a producer or a director on that show. I had nothing to do with casting. I was an actor and only an actor. If she was told I was involved in any decision about her career then she was lied to. The fact that I couldn’t affect her career is only surpassed by the fact that I wouldn’t.”


Marquez also wrote on social media that she was suffering from immune disorders, including celiac disease. She said several times that she was diagnosed as “terminal” and was “homebound.”

Mr Abraham Gbileeka, the General Manager of Benue Urban Development Board, says the board has marked no fewer than 300 buildings that contravene law for demolition in Makurdi.

He said in an interview with politics ngr on Saturday in Makurdi that most of the affected structures were built on water channels.

“It’s true that people are building on water channels and it is our responsibility as a board to stop them; the only action we have to sustain the right thing.


“Once we discover that you have not received a legitimate approval from the board and you have gone ahead to build, we serve you a notice which will lead to demolition.

“So, at the moment, we already have 300 houses marked for demolition in Makurdi alone,’’ he said.
The general manager also said that the structures marked for demolition were not only built on water canals, but lack government approval.


Gbilekaa said that areas that would be affected “are Nyiman extension, Achussa, Genabe, Owner Occupier, Wadata and High-level, Naka Road and some communities in North Bank.’’

He, however, explained that marking a house does not necessarily lead to demolition as houses were marked sometimes because they have no records with the board.

Gbilekaa warned the residents of the state against raising illegal structures that such buildings stand the risk of being demolished.

He also advised them to ensure that due process was followed when obtaining approval for their structures.

So, yesterday, confusion trailed the proposed partial closure of Lagos-Ibadan Expressway from Sunday, September 2, 2018 to Tuesday, January, 15, 2019 for repairs by Julius Berger Nigeria Plc.
Reports had earlier filtered in that the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway will be closed for 18 weeks. Refuting the planned closure, the Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, in Ogun State clarified the statement credited to it on the total closure of the expressway, saying, it will only divert traffic on the road temporarily.
In a statement, Route Commander, FRSC Public Education Officer, Florence Okpe said:
“It was for repairs of the road by Julius Berger, which will commence on Sunday, September 2, 2018 and end on Tuesday, January 15, 2019. “This is to inform the Motoring Public that there will be temporary traffic diversion on the Sagamu bound traffic along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway from km 26 around 200 meters from the existing RCCG Car Park C U-Turn to Km 28.

Texas jurors sentenced former police officer Roy Oliver to 15 years of jail for murdering a black teenager, local media reported.
The incident took place in 2017 in Balch Springs, Dallas County.

Oliver responded to a call from a party and opened fire at a vehicle moving away from the site, hitting unarmed Jordan Edwards in the head.

The national assembly may cut its recess short and reconvene next week to deliberate on the presidential request for virement of funds for the Independent National Electoral Commission’s execution of next year’s general election.
Deputy Speaker Yusuf Lasun said this much when the APC caucus formally reacted to the Tuesday’s siege to the National Assembly.
He said the lawmakers’ annual recess is legitimate but that the legislature is ready to always act in the best interest of the people.

Instagram comedian, Shiggy, who featured in Drake's In My Feelings music video after he made the #InMyFeelings challenge go viral, has apologised to his longtime faithful girlfriend after he was exposed for cheating on her.


Shiggy has only been famous for a few weeks but he already let it get into his head and got carried away with the girls that followed the fame. His infidelity was exposed on social media and he has now shared a video apologizing to his girlfriend and promising to do better.

Hon. Abiodun Olasupo, representing Iseyin/Itesiwaju/Kajola/Iwajowa federal constituency, has stated that members of his Unity Forum in the Oyo State Chapter of All Progressives Congress (APC) were forced to defect to the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
Olasupo, Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Legislative Compliance, said this at Iwere-Ile in Iwajowa Local Government Area of Oyo State at a town hall meeting with constituents.
The group had accused Governor Abiola Ajimobi of disrespect for party supremacy.
“Democracy is about tyranny of the majority. There won’t be a strong political party when the interest of minority overrides that of the majority”, NAN quoted him as saying.
“As long as there is no strong political party, there won’t be a stable government and without a stable government, there won’t be the much-desired development.
“When the tenets of a political party do not give power to the people to elect who leads them, then free exit is guaranteed.

“People will have to move to another party where they are warmly welcomed and where internal democracy is much sacrosanct.

Kwara state Governor, AbdulFatah Ahmed says the decision to dump the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) was not for selfish reasons but to secure a better platform with abundant opportunities for Kwarans.
Governor Ahmed gave the explanation when he received a delegation from Oro, the hometown of the minister for information and culture, Lai Mohammed.
The delegation was led by the national President, Oro Descendants Union, Uthman Balogun.
The governor noted that the benefits the state achieved under the APC were not commensurate with what the state contributed for it’s victory in 2015.
According to him, the desired expectation is not achieved while some individuals are being persecuted by the government.

Manchester United are still pushing hard to sign long-term target Toby Alderweireld from Tottenham Hotspur, but may be forced into playing the long game for another season before making their move, says the Mirror.
Spurs have valued the Belgium international at £75 million, with United steadfastly unwilling to pay that kind of money for a 29-year-old defender.

However, it has since come to light that United might be afforded the chance to purchase Alderweireld for a fraction of that price if they are simply willing to wait.
The centre-back’s contract runs until 2019, and Spurs retain an option to extend it by a year. Even then, thanks to a release clause inserted into his existing Spurs deal during the last round of negotiations, a two-week window would be triggered in which Alderweireld would be allowed to leave White Hart Lane for just £25m.
United might feel even more comfortable sitting back and seeing what transpires as, according to Mundo Deportivo, a deal to bring centre-back Yerry Mina to Old Trafford is “practically agreed.” The Spanish paper says Mina has agreed terms with United and is just waiting for them to agree a fee with Barcelona.
Zaha wants Chelsea switch
After struggling to make the grade at Manchester United a few years back, Wilfried Zaha is once again intent on testing his mettle at one of the Premier League’s top sides.
According to the Mirror, the Crystal Palace winger has told teammates he’s determined to leave Selhurst Park for a “big six” club this summer after rejecting a new £125,000-a-week contract offer.
Specifically, Zaha is keen to move across London to Chelsea, and would even be willing to submit a transfer request to push the deal through before the window closes.
Tottenham were known to be interested the 25-year-old, but it looks like they’ve now run out of patience with Palace and instead refocused their aim on signing Jack Grealish from Aston Villa.
Everton eye up Lascelles
Everton are willing to spend £30m to tempt Newcastle United into selling their club captain Jamaal Lascelles, says The Sun.
With Ashley Williams having joined Stoke on a season-long loan, the Toffees need to bolster their back line and are hoping that a significant offer for Lascelles would tempt Newcastle owner Mike Ashley into cashing in.

However, Rafa Benitez’s reluctance to part with his skipper and the fact that Lascelles is under contract until 2023 are likely to prove unassailable stumbling blocks in any approach for the 24-year-old centre-back

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez said that he will only allow Luka Modric to leave the club if his €750m release clause is paid in full. Modric has reportedly been speaking to Inter Milan about a move but Madrid are understandably loathe to let the midfielder, who won the Golden Ball at the World Cup, out of the last two years of his contract.
Multiple reports indicated overnight that Arturo Vidal has a verbal agreement in place to leave Bayern Munich for Barcelona. According to Sport, Barca have been in contact with Vidal for more than a week and will pay Bayern around €30m for the midfielder, who had been heavily linked to a move to Inter Milan in recent months. The Guardian reported that Vidal, 31, passed a medical at Barca within the past week and has been given permission to leave by new coach Niko Kovac.

Manchester City have signed Gabriel Jesus to a two-year contract extension, tying him to the club through the 2022-23 season. Jesus, 21, has scored 24 goals since arriving from Palmeiras in January 2017.

Chelsea have signed Pedro to a new contract that will keep him with the club for one additional season. The 31-year-old, who moved from Barcelona in 2015, is now tied to the team through 2019-20. He scored seven goals for Chelsea in all competitions and has scored 28 goals since his arrival.

Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri said he has no problem with Willian and that he is hopeful Thibaut Courtois will stay at the club amid speculation over potential exits for both players.
