It's really disappointing that some Nigerians are supporting the motion to keep MNK locked up despite court orders ordering his release. Do you guys realise we have 3 independent arms of government? The Executive has been disregarding and disrespecting the judiciary for years, now the senate has joined, yet some of you won't see an issue because of your blind supports for some so-called political parties and strong men that keep ensuring that the country doesn't move forward due to their interests.

There are only 2 ways for this administration to go:

1. Retain the old way as it was.

2. This new way

The First way will bankrupt the country as we keep on borrowing to drive our budget. The current budget that Tinubu inherited is to be implemented by 40% crude oil sales and 60% borrowing. It is not sustainable. We are heading the way of Sri Lanka.

The Second way will be tough at the start. Our budget wont be driven by 60% borrowing any longer. We will save money that can be used to build infrastructure. When people realise that the item you use to import has become so expensive, people will think out of the box to create similar thing that will work locally. That was how the new China was birthed.

There are no easy way for this current administration. I buy fuel for 508 naira as well but it is a price we have to pay for years of badly managed economy.

If you know of the 3rd way you feel this current administration should have gone or you want to pick holes in what I have stated, I will be willing to read from you and learn.

No matter how good the intentions of this current administration are, if no concrete step is taken towards fighting corruption to a stand still, things would only get worse. The China you mentioned didn't rise by keeping a blind eye at corruption, they fought and killed for it.

I live in the city My family and I still drink from borehole. We fetch the water and pour into the water filter machine, then we fetch into plastic bottles and put in the refrigerator. We have been doing this for years and no problem. At least it's safer than most "pure" water sold out there.

Thanks for this post. I got a 3 bedroom apartment in Dec last year, got to know about inadequate water in our borehole due to shallow depth after a week.
I informed the landlord about this development and he promised to dig another borehole within a month. This is the 5th month , no sign of new borehole in view. Called the landlord again severylly but the man refused to pick my calls nor return them.

I can't remember it exactly, but its something like any rent increase cannot exceed a specific percentage, I believe in the region of 25%, not so sure, within a period of some years, maybe 4 or 5, or so. Of course, most of these laws are dead letters, but they are on the books, and can be invoked, with what success, one cannot say.

Kindly point to the section in Lagos tenancy law or any other relevant document that states this. I'm in a fix now, my rent was just increased by 30% less than 2 years of my stay in an office. I will appreciate anyone's help in this regard.
