jamace:OBASANJO'S NEW EGO TRIP Hypocrisy, lies and deception. That is how l can summarize the snippets of OBASANJO'S new book. He attacked everyone "attackable" except himself, the Saint. I am not a fan of president Jonathan but Obasanjo has no moral right to keep attacking the president since he foisted the late president Umaru Yar'Adua and Jonathan on Nigerians. He is vicariously liable. By the way, Nigerians have not forgotten how his government squandered $16 billion on the power sector without anything to show for it. And if a man close to 80 years can still be lying through his teeth that he never planned a THIRD TERM, then nobody should believe whatever is in that book. Obasanjo is of the same pedestal with Nasir El Rufai who similarly wrote a trash of a book, demonising everyone except himself. All the trash he wrote about Atiku shows the type of terrible person Obasanjo is. Here was an Atiku, who prevented the Abacha death squad from killing him when he was in Yola prison. After General Yar'Adua was forcefully injected at Abakaliki prison by Abacha's"Dr death", Yar'Adua sent words to his protege, Atiku how he was forcefully injected and that he feared for his life. Atiku immediately sent words to Obasanjo in Yola prison not to allow himself to be injected in case "Dr death" came around. That was the saving grace. When "Dr death" came to Obasanjo that he wanted to inject him, OBJ screamed- "l am not sick o, l am not sick o". That was how his death was prevented but Yar'adua died due to the poison injected into his system. And when this same Obj came out of the prison broke, Atiku rehabilitated him with N100 million. This is the same Obj that is rubbishing Atiku. In the book, he cleverly refused to address the open letter his first child, Iyabo wrote to him, dismissing it as being the handiwork of Jonathan to get at him. Rubbish. He equally refused to address the allegation of his son, Gbenga that he slept with his wife. Here was someone who arm twisted the money bags to raise N6billion for him in one day for his library, now talking of morality in governance. Nobody should believe what Obasanjo the saint in writing. I would rather admonish this old man to go make peace with his conscience and God before he leaves this earth, rather than engaging in these spurious grandstanding.I respect Obasanjo's freedom of expression. It is his right but l also reserve the right to criticise him, even in a most caustic language. It is fair comment. If some people distort history and tell lies, we can't all just accept because he is exercising his freedom of expression. I find it repugnant for one person to demonise almost everyone and pretend to be a saint. Was it not this same Obasanjo, during the PTDF scandal, paid his lawyer $250,000 as legal fees just to register a company at the Corporate Affairs Commission? Because he didn't pay the lawyer who handled his personal cases, decided to compensate him with $250,000 government money, purportedly for registering a company. If this is not corruption, l wonder what it is. |

lastpage:Well thanks for your reply, for me not reading the bible well let me first say this,I am a grad of rel studies and did my masters in ecclesiatical studies from the university of ibadan,so when it comes to religion and things of the scriptures I don't just say what I don't know I talk out of my experience as a scholar and do not take and swallow everyrin hook line and sinker, young man when they say immortality of the soul it doesn't make reference to the scriptures u just qouted but that there is no jugdment for the dead when one dies its like an invisible vanisher makes dat person or soul disappear, the bible is clear on this in the book of revelation that even the sea and death would vomit their dead and all would be judged according to his or her works, mind u the scriptures used in Jw is the New world translation which was crafted to suit the doctrines of the witnesses for me and a lot of people who know they are likened to the mormons cos they are a sect |
Jehovah's Witnesses appeared in the second half of the nineteenth century in the USA. Their founder, Charles Taze Russell [1], was Christian, but became influenced by Arian and Seventh-Day Adventist teachings. Jehovah's Witnesses claim to be "Christians believing in the Bible", hence their real danger to the unaware Orthodox Christian. The heresy of Jehovah's Witnesses is clearly presented in their books; some of which are the following: Their book "The Truth that leads to eternal life," P. 24: [The Holy Spirit is not a Person, but God’s effective Power.] Their book "Let God Be True", P. 113: [The allegation of the clergy that the Holy Spirit is a third Spiritual Person, is an allegation based on a weak basis. It is the result of bad translation of the Greek original text, giving a word that means Person. But actually the origin means "breeze" or "wind", for as the breeze or the wind is invisible so also is God's Spirit. Whenever God’s Spirit comes upon a person, that person receives an authorization from God to perform a certain work. The Holy Spirit is the Power of God Almighty and Invisible. He is the Power that motivates God's servants to do His will.] Their book "This is eternal life", P. 176: [The Spirit is Power not a Person. He is the Effective Holy Power originating from the bountiful source God.] Their book "Talk from the Holy Scriptures", P. 132: [God's Holy Spirit is His Effective Power.] To sum up, their denial of the Hypostatic Nature of the Holy Spirit is a part of their denial of the Three Persons. Accordingly they deny the doctrine of the Holy Trinity. Jehovah's Witnesses also believe that Jesus Christ is the Archangel Michael. They say that Jesus Christ Himself does not have an immortal soul, but gained immortality as a reward for His success in the test and for His faithfulness to the Father until death. Jehovah's Witnesses have their own false translation of the Bible, in which they have altered many verses to suit their doctrines. For example, John 1:1 in their New World Translation reads, "In [the] beginning the Word was, and the Word was with God, and the Word was a god." Other verses worth noting in this context include Acts 20:28 (reads "with the blood of His own" instead of the correct "with His own blood" , Luke 23:43 ("Truly I tell you today, You will be with me in Paradise" instead of the correct "Assuredly I say to you: 'today you will be with Me in Paradise'" - note the different meanings of 'today'), and 1 Timothy 3:16.They believe in numerous resurrections, each one being for a particular group of people, and in an eternal earthly paradise as a literal fulfilment of Isaiah 65:21: "They shall build houses and inhabit them; They shall plant vineyards and eat their fruit" [earthly resurrection for the good (the "remnants" or the "other sheep" , with the exception of 144,000 (the "little flock" who would go to "Heaven"].They do not believe in the immortality of the soul (sharing this belief as well as that of the earthly paradise with Seventh Day Adventists). Instead, they believe in the annihilation of the wicked (including, according to their beliefs, the annihilation of both Satan and Adam, the first man), i.e., they do not believe in the eternal punishment of sinners. They also do not believe in the intercession of the departed saints. Jehovah's Witnesses predicted that Jesus would come in 1914 to judge the Earth and annihilate the wicked. When nothing supernatural happened in 1914, they changed the year to 1925 then many times thereafter. Jehovah's Witnesses do not accept whole blood transfusions (even when life-saving) based on their false interpretation of Acts 15:28, 29 |
