Dear Madame/Sir,

In order to facilitate the interaction with the Consulate General of Italy we have introduced the procedure bookingonline (go to our webpage www.conslagos.esteri.it and choose “Online with the user” and then choose “Booking an appointment”)

The Italian Consulate is about to increase the number of days available to collect the file submitted for legalization, so the waiting time will be radically reduced.
So everybody will have the opportunity to book online an appointment and will be received in short time.

Starting from today we publish online the files numbers which are ready to be collected or completed.
So you can check if your file is included in the list.
The list is available at our website www.conslagos.esteri.it
In the section: “Online with the user” choose “Legalization of Documents” and then “Is Your File ready? Check here”
You will have access to the following page.

Please check if your file is included in the list. If it is NOT included please delete your booking online and wait until you see your file online.
The list will be updated twice a week.

Dear student,

In order to apply to a second level degree for the 2015/16 academic year international students have to send all the documents required to the Academic Committee of the course they are interested in for the evaluation.

They are able to do that through an online platform available at this link:

Please note that each student can be evaluated for up to TWO courses.

And write an email stating: *Request for admission letter in economics and banking* which she told me its the only bachelor english taught course. You will get your pre enrollment letter in the next 24hours working days hours. Like if you send today, you get your admission letter on monday so you can begin your visa process next week.

i was the cause of the revitalization o italy embassy web site. i had to petition them to their head office here in italy. they delayed my document for about six months. i am happy with the new development. they are now more business like and very serious. u cant imagine an embassy ab-initially telling me dat they have lost my documents which i submitted to them. i said it in this web page that i want to pick a lawyer but somebody said i shouldnt, but i had to do it. and i did it, two weeks later, things change and the system is better now.

first have u book for ur appointment from their web site?if not just dont come as d gatemen will not allow u to enter. for booking go to http://www.conslagos.esteri.it/Consolato_Lagos/Menu/In_linea_con_utente/appuntamento/. after booking you will be giving ur appointment date to which u will present ur self to the embassy. apart for that on monday is for collection of document only , tuesday to thursday is for submission,etc in any which case if u have fixed a date on getting on the fixed date u will be ask to fill a form for pre erolment and later ask to go for legalization processes.

To all, toscana in italy is a very good place to life and survive, and as well school. it has three basic university.unifi, unisi and unipi. try and locate them. Good luck.

it depend on what the admission letter ask you to do.if i were you i will go to the embassy for legalization of my document (ie starting from the fed. ministry of edu. then to the foregn affair commission before translation to italy language and then forewarding it to the italy embassy) while i immediately applied for student visa to study in the uni. like what i said it really depend on what is written in the admission letter, because not all school ask for pre enrolment from 9ja embassy of italy. then ur 2nd questn. which other document? anyway to the italy embassy date of birth is very important, mine own document was actually delay as a result of my birth certificate which was a court declaration by my father.my advise is that you declare your real age and also declare from the court that a mistake was made in your document or alternative go and resolve it from the authority where you obtain the documents with the mistake.

Secondly, my original waec has a different birth of birth from my other document ? Wat should i do about that ?

Please this Italian embassy, I'm tired of their wahala. I applied for legalization since October last year and they have been saying different things. Last time they said it was ready but the consular hadn't sign.With this new appointment stuff the closest day I found is April 6th for document collection. Now the program I'm going for starts in May and the school needs the DOV ASAP. Can I apply for my visa while I wait for the DOV but my original documents are still with them. What do I do? I need my documents to do some things as well. I really don't know what to do. Can I book an appointment for some other purpose and then wen I get in, I talk to them cos I'm tired of this whole process.

Yes, you can apply for Visa without the DOV. Pelumiv can shed more light on this for you.
DOV is not needed at the embassy as per visa instance but needed at the school. I've read cases where DOV took longer than the time you've stated. Just keep calm and pray about it.
BTW, don't let this delay your application. Go apply for the VISA.. you'll be issued and you'll have to arrange for the DOV pickup later.

Pls all what is going on with the italian embassy in terms of legalisation... there site has been modified and u can easily reach them now to verify your statos....cheer all

just try to do ur legalisation be4 coming or better still try to send aomebody on ground to do it for u, why u travel.. cause u will later start spending money to and fro from italy.

I am new to this forum but I was hoping you guys can help me out. I got admission to a school in Florence for April 2015. I applied for my visa in January 30th 2015. The documents I took with me were passport, form , letter of sponsorship from my dad, his bank statement, hotel booking, documents from school, birth certificate, copy of my dads visa page, copy of my former schengen visas, copy of my undergrad certificate and transcript and two passport pictures. I went to the consulate on the 30th and I was able to submit and I was told to come on pick up my passport in exactly a week which was the 4th of February. I got the visa which was for a year although I applied for nine months. Now this is my question, I am reading all this stuff here about legalisation and getting things stamped. I am worried because I did none of this. I hope this won't cause an issue later on?

i dont only need it for schooling , i also need it to get a job here in italy because i have my parmanent stay document in italy

I'm beginning to think the process for it in Nigeria takes a whole lot of time and you don't need the DOV here at the Embassy. Your school needs it in Italy. You can actually make your trip to Italy, enrol at your school and they will understand your DOV will be ready later on. You can always submit it at the time of your second year enrolment. Keep in mind that it has to be ready before your second academic year which I believe will be ready by then.

i send somebody to there office and they say they did not see my file but the collected the person number promising that they will call him as soon as they find it. i am thinking of using a lawyer

Well, you can always keep trying. You've just tried for two days. Keep trying. Ask your choice of college to contact the embassy on your behalf. You can always ask the International Office to do that for you.

Then give them a call, they respond quite often to calls coming from Italy and if you have decided on a school, you can ask the school to send in a mail of urgency on your behalf.

I have try reaching them via email and phone line but no responds.

As a suggestion, you can send them a status enquiry email. BTW, what do you need the legalization for?

i have been leaving in italy for the past few years and now wishes to continue my education to master level.
i have sent them mail two days ago but no responds. thanks anyway.
