Hello Docs! I wanna write plab 1 in march 2017 and hopefully plab 2 soon after. I'm a recent post nysc doc in need of a job to make that happen especially seeing as one has to have serious cash for plab2. I gained very useful experience during my service yr while working as a casualt officer in A&E of a federal medical centre. I live in Lagos so any one who knows of any M.O openings, kindly help a sister out. This is my number 09056904915. Thanks! ![]() |
I dunno if someone has responded to u yet but i can tell u abt Australia. there are 3 pathways with which u can get in the system: specialist, competent and standard pathway. specialist pathway is for consultants. dunno much abt it. competent pathway means that u are exempted from the AMC exam (mcq 2720 aus. dollars) and clinical (3150 aus. dollars. This is only for graduates of countries like U.S, newzealand, canada, UK...can't remember the rest. but another way u can go in thru this competent pathway is if u have worked for one yr in U.K i.e FY2, no matter the country u graduated from. Standard pathway means that u will have to write the exam. the only difference is that if u pass the mcq, u can start working before u do the clinicals. But the truth is getting a job there is VERYY DIFFICULT if u are coming in thru the standard pathway becos u are competing with people from competent pathway! I have a friend who has passed the mcq since 2014 but still no job. people these days prefer to do plab, work one yr in the U.k, get a job in australia and make the necessary moves there. The pay there is better, working hours more flexible. elobyobi: |
