Home and Away actress Jessica Falkholt has tragically passed away after her life support was switched off one day after the funeral of her parents and sister.

The 29-year-old actress was involved in a Boxing Day crash while traveling with her parents and sister (read here). Her parents died on the scene of the crash while she and her sister were airlifted to the hospital. Her sister, Annabelle, 21, passed away on December 29 as a result of her injuries and was buried with their parents on Wednesday.

Following the court ruling that saw Unmi Fatima Bolori, the ex-wife of Aminu Atiku, son of former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar, winning full custody of their two children she will be paid N3m annually for child support.

Yesterday, Chief Magistrate K.B Ayeye sitting in the Tinubu area of Lagos granted Fatima full custody of their children, Amirah, 8, and Aminu Atiku, 6, following years of legal tussle after their marriage ended in 2011.

A hasty commercial bus driver has dispatched 10 people to early graves in a road accident at the Alapako/Ogunmakin end of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

PUNCH Metro learnt that the bus driver, who had 11 passengers, collided with a cement-laden Dangote truck around 9pm on Tuesday.

A correspondent gathered that the two vehicles were heading in opposite directions. A diversion was said to have been created at that end of the expressway due to an ongoing repair work by a construction company.

South African hospitals are on the alert for a man with an injured penis after a pregnant woman managed to bite her rapist’s genitals as he assaulted her in front of her child.

The woman was sexually assaulted after accepting a lift from two men in Mpumalanga province as she tried to reach a clinic with her child, five.

Instead she was driven into the bushes and raped at knifepoint, police say.

Rescue workers in southern California are searching for survivors after mudslides and flooding in which at least 13 people have died.

More than 30 miles (48km) of the main coastal road have been closed and police said the scene “looked like a World War One battlefield”.

A group of 300 people are reportedly trapped in Romero Canyon neighbourhood east of Santa Barbara, with rescue efforts due to resume at daybreak.

The Lagos State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, has declared his support and that of Lagos State for the emergence of Otunba Gani Adams as the 15th Aare Ona Kakanfo of Yorubaland.

At least 13 people are dead and more than 20 are injured in California from weather-related incidents, the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office says. The southern part of the state has been drenched with severe rain just weeks after several fires tore through the area.

The Police in Delta say they have begun investigation into circumstances that led to burning of the Delta Independent Electoral Commission (DSIEC) in Ughelli North Local Government Area.

The command’s Spokesperson, Mr Andrew Aniamaka, disclosed this on Saturday night in Warri.

He also assured that perpetrators would be apprehended soon and brought to justice.
