Thanks boss kingreign: Don't change just the head or cup, change completely assembly full complete shaft that has not been opened. Whether tokumbo or brand new. If brand new insist on Japanese or Korean or Dubai brand. |

Thanks boss Although I already spoke to my mechanic and made mention of one product named HILUX but I'm scared because he is the one that changed it 3 months ago and now I'm already having issues with it I don't want to buy now and in the next 3 months I will be changing it again and that's why I'm trying to get help here Thanks kingreign: Go back to your mechanic, you should have him change the shaft with complete brand new or direct tokumbo shaft.
Avoid chatting with an ai bot. Cheers! |

Where is your office RyanAutomotive: Good evening sir.
Vehicle: Toyota Camry 2005 (V6 / 4-cylinder not specified) Concern: Repeated (shaft) clicking sound after replacement
Let’s address this properly so you don’t keep replacing shafts repeatedly or buy the wrong parts again.
Professional Diagnostic Insight
From your description:
• Front shafts were replaced 3 months ago • Original issue was “clicking sound during turns” • Noise has returned on passenger side • Occurs even with slight steering turn • You were told the replacement shaft may be fake
This is a very common issue on Camry models in Nigeria, and it is not always just “fake part” problem.
Important Observation
A “clicking sound during turning” is almost always related to:
Outer CV joint (constant velocity joint) wear or failure
But when it returns quickly after replacement, it usually means:
• Wrong quality shaft • Poor-grade aftermarket CV joint • Or installation/vehicle condition issue was not addressed
* Likely Causes of Repeat Failure
1, Low-quality or refurbished CV shaft • Many aftermarket shafts look new but are internally weak • Inner CV joints wear out quickly under load
2, Torn or leaking CV boot (grease loss) • Even small tear allows grease to escape • Dirt enters → rapid joint wear
3, Wheel alignment or suspension stress • Bad alignment increases CV joint load during turning
4, Engine or transmission mount wear • Excess movement increases shaft angle stress
5, Aggressive steering while stationary • This puts maximum stress on outer CV joints
• Important Clarification
The issue is not always “fake shaft” alone.
* Even genuine-looking parts can fail quickly if: • Installation is not correct • Grease quality is poor • Suspension geometry is already stressed
* Do NOT Do This
• Do NOT keep buying random shafts from open market without checking grade • Do NOT continue driving aggressively with clicking sound • Do NOT ignore steering vibration or knock • Do NOT allow repeated “trial replacement” without diagnosis
* What Should Be Checked Now Before replacing anything again:
1, Inspect CV boot condition • Check for grease leakage or tears
2, Confirm which side is actually faulty • Passenger or driver side must be properly diagnosed
3, Check suspension & ball joints • Worn suspension increases CV load 4, Inspect engine & transmission mounts • Excess movement stresses shafts
5, Alignment check • Very important after shaft replacement
* Professional Insight
Most repeat shaft failures happen because:
• The shaft is replaced incorrectly • But the root cause of stress is not corrected
So the new shaft gets damaged again within months.
* Ryan Automotive Limited Recommendation
The correct approach is:
• Proper inspection of both CV joints and shaft • Suspension and mount check • Verification of shaft quality before installation • Alignment correction after installation
If you are able to bring the vehicle down, Ryan Automotive Limited carries out full drivetrain and suspension diagnostics to identify why the shafts keep failing and ensure it does not repeat.
This will save you from repeated replacement costs and unnecessary fear.

Pls I need suggestions on the best cv joint (shaft) and where I can get it Thanks Jesustheking: Good afternoon experts in the house
I changed the two front shaft of my 2005 Camry 3 months ago because it's making "clicking sound" but now the passenger side is back with the sound even with slight turn and I was told the one I bought earlier is fake.
Pls I need advice on how and where to get original one
I haven't been driving the car as I suppose to because of fear of leg separation
Thanks in advance |

Thanks for your analysis Actually the boot torn and there was a leakage of grease sometimes ago but my mechanic said he has gum the boot to stop the leakage so maybe it didn't work RyanAutomotive: Good evening sir.

Omooo... Eazilyfe: Even if they cancel Bolt will still reduce your Driver score
Dem go say YOU NO MOVE FROM WHERE YOU PICK THE RIDE. hence making the rider cancel and let them lose money |
Business › Re: If You Are Uber Partner In Lagos, Please Share Your Experience Here by Jesustheking: 9:16am On Apr 23 |
Hello boss I will like to ask, if I ask the rider and the destination is a no for me, will I beg the rider to cancel because I know some of them will not and if I cancel the ride won't my driver's score be affected? Pearl1910: Did they say it's a taboo to call and ask Rider where they are going to? It's like working blind, u must mark where u can and cannot go and make sure u know where each trip is taking u to before u even start ur engine and start driving towards Rider. How can u be discovering where u are going to after u have started d trip? |
Business › Re: If You Are Uber Partner In Lagos, Please Share Your Experience Here by Jesustheking: 11:38am On Apr 22 |
Respect boss Eazilyfe: Boss, most of the things people will advice you you will have to learn it or experience it. As u have said, will you ever take trips to Ikorodu or Badagry again?
As for blind places Bolt carry you to, you might need to learn Lagos state postal codes(100278 is for Ikeja, 100610 is for Eti osa, lekki etc) sabi those codes and u go know whether na bush Bolt dey send you go . Then later on u will know areas by street.
Another advice, Have a working route/areas. Ehailing is 100% positioning and timing. If na morning till evening you wan do or na weekends for owambe people. You will have to find out what works for you
P.S i just started last day of january this year and i have learnt a lot still learning |
Business › Re: If You Are Uber Partner In Lagos, Please Share Your Experience Here by Jesustheking: 6:40am On Apr 22 |
Thanks boss cyif2003: From bolt u might never know.. but with times u might get familiar with some street names. How u use bolt is dat once d order comes I will quickly go to d map and type d addy and confirm d location. I will not just accept. D same order might come to u again. Or oda times I accept it den check d location on d map. If na area wey I no like I will either can celebrate or wait let s rider cancel if I no pick him calls.
Nothing suppose concern u with badagry, alaba international, ikorodu, mowe, ibafo...
Highest distance is not really a rule. All depends on d d feee u see and if its a place u want to go to especially if u have not gotten any rider since |

I will also need suggestions on where I can position myself. I work at Ikeja and I close by 3pm so that's when I start my driving
Thanks |
Business › Re: If You Are Uber Partner In Lagos, Please Share Your Experience Here by Jesustheking: 2:23pm On Apr 21 |
Good day everyone
Pls my question is how will I know the area where rider's destination is before accepting the trip? Because some destination will just show the street name and house number without showing if it's Ikorodu or Badagry or other places.
Also can you guys also help newbies like myself some areas to avoid (dead zones) because I had a not too smooth experience last week, I took a rider to Ikorodu and I couldn't get any reasonable ride so I drove to Ikeja and then took another one to Badagry only to be enter some annoying traffic both going and coming plus from Badagry I didn't get any ride back as well. So that day was just very bad experience for me.
Also I'm using 2005 big daddy Camry and if I buy fuel of 20k, I only gross 40k is this normal or I'm doing somethings wrong
And lastly what is the highest distance I should consider for pickup because all the trips that Uber has been offering me has been from 15mins above that's why I used more of indrive and bolt.
Every contributions and ideas will be appreciated 🙏 |

Thanks boss🙏 Like I said I'm new to auto because this is my first car which I just bought some months ago so I don't even know all these things that you mentioned I hope my mechanic will understand it kingreign: Check if the fuse for the AF and O2 sensors are intact, if they are intact and hasn't blown up, replace the sensors. |
Car Talk › Re: Tell Us Your Car Faults. Let's Assess And Fix Them by Jesustheking: 7:04am On Apr 13 |
Thanks for your contribution boss🙏 Meanwhile any advice on how to fix it because my fear is my mechanic might not understand all this English Alapereketu: A flashing check engine light on a high-mileage Toyota Camry often indicates a severe cylinder misfire, possibly accompanied by a "system too lean" code or a faulty catalytic converter. This requires immediate attention to prevent engine damage or catalytic converter failure. |

Meanwhile I will still appreciate more input from experience bosses here 🙏 Jesustheking: Greetings my senior men
I'm new to this line of work although I have read a lot of info on this platform since last year
I owned big daddy Camry and I started work last weekend although I used indrive only except for yesterday that I used bolt
I used 20k fuel to gross 40k and after deductions for charges and fuel I'm left with just 15k
Pls I need advice on how I can be more efficient
Also should I be looking for long trips instead of all these 3k fare that's every where because from the few days I have worked I noticed that long trips is less stressful than short ones.
You input will be appreciated
Kindly note that I run a personal business which I resumed by 10am and can close by 3pm if I like |
Business › Re: If You Are Uber Partner In Lagos, Please Share Your Experience Here by Jesustheking: 6:53am On Apr 13 |
Thanks for your advice boss Eazilyfe: No advice wey dem wan give you wey go pass experience and soon you will master your routes/mode of working.
Me for example i use Indrive, Bolt & Uber. Long trips are good if it leads you to good zone. I no fit carry Long trip from Ikeja to Ikorodu on a afternoon/weekday when i suppose dey city dey chop small trips except its a destination trip
So most things you will learn are thru driving and experiencing it, Bad trips will teach you not to repeat such mistake again. Na to make money be ur top most concern. So do what favours you, with time you will learn rides not to take and the ones to take.
ehailing is TIMING & POSITIONING |
