Phones › The IP54 In The Realme C61 by Jesutooni(op): 5:54pm On Jan 19, 2025 |
IP54 is a standard for measuring a device's resistance to dust and water. The “IP” stands for Ingress Protection, and the numbers represent the level of protection. In the case of IP54, the "5" indicates the phone is dust-resistant (with limited entry allowed) and the "4" shows it is protected from splashing water from any direction.
In Nigeria's budget smartphone market, the realme C61 stands out thanks to this IP54 rating, offering an advantage over other phones in its price range. Many budget devices lack any official water or dust resistance, making the realme C61 a more durable option for users who are on the move and need a phone that can handle life's daily challenges.
While other budget smartphones focus mainly on performance or battery life, the C61 provides an added layer of protection, ensuring it’s less vulnerable to accidental splashes or dust exposure. This makes it a smart choice for those looking for a more reliable device at an affordable price point, especially in the competitive Nigerian market.

Basicend: Redmi devices usually have superior overall quality than Realme devices in most categories.
Although, if realme can step up just a little bit more with quality components, they may be able to compete fully. They seem like the closest.
They usually match redmi in design and aesthetics. realme completely dominated in India. Like no contest lmao. |

skywalker240: Realme is a sub brand of bbk franchise
Same parents company as oppo, vivo and one plus
They won't fall, they'll only produce quality for cheaper prices for a short time, and when their market share start increasing, they start making expensive devices and I mean quantities for higher prices
Economy did a big blow though. I think they've invested too much to pull out And who knows, what if they follow this as their own brand? |

Phones › Re: realme NOTE 50 Review by Jesutooni(m): 3:41pm On Dec 29, 2024 |
ParadoxWrites: Our Last post (https://www.nairaland.com/8299156/lets-talk-it-phones) a lot of users were asking which is better between realme note 50 and C61, while we cant dictate choices for you. I can surely help you by breaking each devices down to enable you make a better decision.
Let's dive into the review!
Camera The realme Note 50 is equipped with a 13MP f/2.2 main camera, complemented by a black-and-white camera and an LED flash. The stock camera app offers modes such as Photo, Video, Portrait, Night, Pro, Time-lapse, Pano, and QR code scanning.
The Pro mode provides advanced controls for ISO (100-1600), Shutter Speed (1/60-1/1000 sec), EV (+-3), Focus, and White Balance.
In daylight, the 13MP primary camera delivers impressive results. The contrast is strong, colors are vibrant, and the sharpness and detail are comparable to more expensive smartphones. The same quality is noticeable in indoor shots, although highlights in bright areas can be slightly overexposed.
Low light performance shows more noise and less sharpness. However, what stands out is the camera’s ability to retain color accuracy despite the grain. Night mode significantly improves sharpness, detail, and contrast, while reducing noise, particularly in the shadow areas, without compromising color fidelity.
Overall, the rear camera performs well in most conditions, though low light can be challenging. We recommend using Night mode for low-light shots, especially when the subject is still. Check for pictures below
Multimedia Experience The display is suitably bright for the phone’s price range. While it’s not the brightest on the market, it remains readable under direct sunlight. Colors are vibrant, and text is clear and sharp.
The 10-point multitouch support is a highlight, making it perfect for gaming and complex gestures—especially when compared to other mid-range phones with only 5-point multitouch.
The notch at the top houses the front camera, and the slim earpiece is tucked away within the top bezel. The chin bezel, however, is slightly thicker than the rest.
For audio, the realme Note 50 features a 3.5mm headphone jack, a single bottom-firing speaker, and a microphone. At full volume, the speaker is sufficient for a small room but struggles in louder environments. To avoid distortion, we recommend reducing the volume to around 80%. The sound stage is narrow, and while clarity is decent, it could be improved. The microphones perform well, picking up sounds from about a meter away, and the noise cancellation for calls is adequate.
Performance Here are the realme Note 50's benchmark scores: AnTuTu: 246,329 Geekbench 6: 423 (single-core), 1,507 (multi-core) 3D Mark WildLife: 425 with an average of 2.55 fps CPDT: 198.15 MB/s (sequential read), 148.08 MB/s (sequential write)
The Note 50's benchmark results are impressive for a budget phone, offering performance that's competitive with other devices in its price range.
In everyday use, the phone handles basic tasks like browsing, social media, and app navigation with ease. However, it struggles with more demanding games and high-performance apps.
For security, it features a side-mounted fingerprint sensor and face unlock, both of which work swiftly and reliably, provided the camera is clean and you’re not wearing sunglasses or a mask.
Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, 4G LTE, Bluetooth 5.0, OTG, GPS, and dual nano SIM support.
The realme Note 50 is powered by a 5,000mAh battery, which impresses in terms of longevity. During a PCMark battery test, it lasted an outstanding 15 hours. In daily use, even with heavy 4G, LTE, and Wi-Fi usage, the battery still had 40% remaining by the end of the day. Charging via USB-C with the 10W wall charger takes under 2 hours to fully charge the device.
"STRONG BATTERY performance regardless of price!"
Software If you didn’t enjoy the previous version of realme UI, this one might not change your mind. However, fans of the UI will likely enjoy the experience, as it offers a familiar and smooth interface.
