PoliticsRe: Okada Ban: Motorcycle Dealers Nationwide To Cast Protest Votes by jhendor(m): 7:18am On Feb 11, 2015
They are on their own.
Okada not only contributes to crime, it is also very accident prone. Especially because no license to ride is issued before riders put okadas on the road. Go to Gbobi Hospital & you will see them with broken bones on the bed.
Their carelessness also has caused other innocent people untimely deaths.
There are many other businesses they can thrive on.

CultureLittle Boy Mysteriously Grows Giant Hands (Viewers Discretion Advised) by jhendor(op): 7:05pm On Aug 23, 2014
A young boy is baffling doctors in India - after his hands swelled to giant proportions.

Eight-year-old Kaleem's hands weigh eight kilograms each and measure 13 inches from the base of his palm to the end of his middle finger.

The cricket fan is unable to do many basic tasks - including tying his shoelaces - and has been bullied and shunned most of his life.

He said: "I do not go to school because the teacher says other kids are scared of my hands.

"Many of them used to bully me for my deformity. They would say 'let's beat up the kid with the large hands'.

"Some of them have actually beaten me and would go after me often.

He added: "I find it difficult to put on my clothes, button my shirt and pull up my pants.

"But I don't know if I want doctors to operate on my hands. They would have to make me unconscious and then they would cut me open.

"I have no problem if they could do it without an injection. A small operation would be okay."

His parents, who earn just £15 a month, have been desperately trying to find help for their son - but to no avail.

His mother Haleema, 27, said she knew he was different at birth but was powerless to help.

"When Kaleem was born his hand was twice the size of a normal baby's," she said.

"His hands were big and his fingers were long. Initially his fists were small but they began to grow large as well and his fingers also kept growing."

His father, Shamim, 45, who works as a labourer, is worried his son will never be independent and blames himself for not earning enough money.

"He has difficulty feeding himself because his fist does not bend properly - so we have to feed him," said Shamin, whose other children do not suffer from the same condition.

"Using two fingers he is able to pick up some things like a glass of water to drink.

"We want to take him to the hospital but there have been times when money has been so low that my wife has been forced to go begging.

"In that kind of financial situation, getting treatment for Kaleem was difficult.

"Even when I tried to get Kaleem into the school, the headmaster told me to put in writing that the school would not be responsible if the other children were afraid of his hands or bullied him or laughed at him."

The couple have only just been able to take their boy to a local doctor for an assessment but their hopes of an instant cure were dashed.

Dr Ratan, the director of his local hospital, said: "As far as my knowledge goes, this is an extremely rare condition.

"I have not seen a case in medical journals or on the internet where only the hands grew to such a large size.

"Until we have done proper genetic testing we will not be able to say exactly what is causing this deformity."

He said that apart from the unsightly growths, Kaleem is in good health - with properly functioning lungs and heart.

But as his hands continue to grow it may put increased pressure on his cardiovascular system, potentially shortening his life.

Elsewhere, Dr Krishan Chugh, head of paediatrics at the state-of-the-art Fortis Memorial Research Institute in Gurgaon, near Delhi, was also left baffled after reviewing photographs and video.

However, he believes Kaleem may be suffering from either lymphangioma or hamartoma - which are both treatable.

He added: "This condition looks very rare and I have come across something like this before. Without proper examination and medical tests I am not 100 per cent sure about what this is."

Lymphangioma is a condition of the lymphatic system that causes extreme inflammation resulting in doughy masses forming in certain parts of the body.

Hamartoma is a benign type of tumour where the body produces excess tissue.

After hearing from the doctors, Kaleem's parents have renewed optimism that something can be done for their son and are redoubling their efforts to raise money for him.

"We have tried several places with no solutions so far," said Shamim.

"But I have a feeling there is a way to get the resources to give my son a normal life."

RomanceCan You Marry Someone Who Has Once Done Abortion? by jhendor(op): 12:18pm On Dec 21, 2013
Honestly can you get married to someone that has done abortion before. Either done it once or some couple of times.

My girlfriend just revealed to me that she had abortion once about 6 years ago. She told me immediately I asked her. I really am not sure if she might have done it more. But I kind of agree it was once. But even at that, can't it raise consequences of giving birth in the future?

I really do love my girlfriend and we are just 4 months into the relationship. We have not had sex yet.

Ladies what do you think?

I need honest answers here please.

PoliticsRe: 10 Amazing Facts You Did Not Know About Nelson Mandela by jhendor(op): 3:55am On Sep 01, 2013
jhendor: 1. Mandela’s tribal nickname is “Rolihlahla,” meaning “Troublemaker.”

Other accounts translate Rolihlalhla to mean “to pull a branch from a tree,” which, of course, is something only a troublemaker would do. It was his teacher, Miss Mdingane, who gave him the English name “Nelson,” much to the relief of journalists everywhere when he became famous.

2. Mandela was expelled from university after less than a year.

After finishing boarding school, Mandela headed to Fort Hare Missionary College. Less than 12 months later, he was expelled from college for helping to organize a strike against the white colonial rule of the institution. One might call this foreshadowing.

3. The United Nations decreed his birthday as Mandela Day.

In 2009, the U.N. declared Mandela’s birthday, July 18, as Mandela Day to mark his contribution to world freedom. The holiday calls on individuals to donate 67 minutes to doing something for others, reflecting the 67 years that Mandela had been a part of the anti-apartheid movement.

4. Mandela is often referred to as Madiba, his Xhosa clan name

Mandela is a member of the Thembu, a Xhosa clan, and is often referred to by his clan name, Madiba. It is a sign of the incredible diversity of people and languages in South Africa. The country has 11 different official languages.

5. Mandela’s father had four wives, and Nelson is one of 13 children.
Mandela’s father, a local chief and councellor to the Thembu king, died from tuberculosis when his son was 9. Before that, he fathered 13 children by four wives, four boys and nine girls. After his father’s death, Mandela was put under the guardianship of Jongintaba, the Thembu regent

6. Mandela has received more than 250 awards for his accomplishments.

Among these awards is the shared 1993 Nobel Peace Prize with F.W. de Klerk, the last president of the apartheid government of South Africa (he too is widely credited as an instrumental force in ending apartheid). Additionally, Mandela has received more than 50 honorary degrees from international universities worldwide, became the first honorary Canadian citizen in 2001, and received the last Lenin Peace Prize from the Soviet Union.

7. Stevie Wonder dedicated his 1985 Oscar for “I Just Called to Say I Love You” to Mandela.
After Stevie accepted his award in honor of Nelson Mandela, the government-owned South African Broadcasting Corporation banned Stevie’s music from the airways. It wasn’t until Mandela was elected in 1994 that Stevie was finally allowed back in South Africa.

8. Mandela outlived his two oldest sons.

Mandela had six children, but tragically lost his two oldest sons. Thembi died in a car crash at age 25. Mandela was in prison at the time of the death and was unable to attend the funeral. Another son died of AIDS in 2005 at age 54. While Mandela’s administration was criticized for not doing enough to fight the AIDS epidemic in South Africa, he established the Nelson Mandela Foundation in 1999 following his retirement to help fight the spread of AIDS.

9. Mandela ran away from home at age of 19.

When his guardian tried to arrange a marriage, Mandela ran away from home in 1941 and headed to Johannesburg. He began to work as a night watchman at Crown Mines, but was fired after it was discovered that he was the Thembu regent’s runaway.

10. Mandela spent his first night after being freed from prison in Archbishop Emeritus Desmond Tutu’s home.
Tutu had his helpers prepare his own favorite meal of chicken curry, rice and green salad, followed by rum raisin ice cream and custard.
