Mr Onoja, what a good way to look out for your countries interest and safe guard the effort of th government. I've been in the Caribbean for sometime now, Guyana to be specific, which is the country you reside. Pardon me if I don't recognize you as a notable figure in the Nigerian community in th Caribbean, i see you as a man who is full of pride, one who can interrupt the procession of Nigerian meeting proceeding . In one particular occasion you were involved in th exchange of blows and physical combat with some Nigerian students here in Guyana during a meeting proceeding because they tried to resist your intention of imposing yourself as the President of the Association. ( What a way to "co-ordinate Nigerians) As a student of Texila American University which you mentioned, am going to take some time to respond to some point you mentioned. Firstly, TAU do not produce medical doctors in less than 3 years, get your facts right Mr man. A student with a degree spends 4 and half years in the university ( 2 years for pre-clinical program and the other 2 and half years in clinical program). Those with O'levels or fresh secondary school graduate spend 6 ( 1 and half years for pre med program, 2 years for pre clinical program and 2 and half years for clinical programs). These clinical programs are done in Georgetown public hospital which is a teaching hospital. The University is also affiliated to some teaching hospitals in the Philippine ( Far-Eastern university - Nicanor Reyes medical foundation medical center and Jose Reyes Memorial medical center). I wonder how they could have been affiliated with such medical institute when they are not accredited ( I guess your informant hasn't told you that part of the story' tell him or her to get some new and recent information) Secondly, TAU is recognized by a the department of education via registration with the national accreditation council of Guyana, it is listed in World Health Organization ( A publicly accessible database of schools, colleges and universities for education of academic professionals in health), it is listed in International Medical Education Directory ( An up-to-date compilation of international medical schools recognized by the appropriate government agency in the medical schools respective country, recognition by ECFMG depends on whether or not the school is listed in this directory) and so on. I think you really need to visit the university personally to get a first hand information on the accreditation status before you talk. Thirdly, "population of 300"? Hahahahahaa...... Very funny. I wonder when u visited the classes for a head count, I also wonder how u came into the conclusion that the locals don't attend the university, for the love of God my class has noting less than 10 local students. ( Once again you and your informant missed that, next time educate him or her how to recognize locals when he or she sees one, I guess that would be when the management organize a head count for the " Co-ordinator of Nigerians in the caribbean" Well, am done with what I have to say for now, but before I leave, I think I should educate you cus apparently you don't know. Every foreign medical graduate who returns back to Nigeria is tested both practically, orally or otherwise before they are allowed to practice, which we are all aware of and looking forward to prove the worth of the education and certificate we receive here. I can't stop writhing without mentioning your self acclaimed title " Co-ordinator, Nigerians the in diaspora caribbean". Please who created such office or voted you into that post, was it the present or past administration in Nigeria? Because I've not seen or heard anything like that before Have a nice day Mr Onoja and merry Xmas to you and yor Guyanese wife who probably got you your visa to Guyana. |
