Ephesians 1:7 In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace Have you ever woken up in the morning and said, “Today, I will not sin.” And as you leave your house, you say, “I must be careful not to fall into sin today. I don’t want to sin. I will not sin!” My friend, when you do this, you are no longer Christ-conscious but sin-conscious, even though you have not sinned yet. Men, have you ever caught yourself thinking, “I don’t want to look at any woman in case I lust”? You are being sin-conscious when you think like that. And sooner or later, you will lust in your heart. You may not sin outwardly, but you will sin inwardly. Have you also tried confessing every sin? I have! As a teenager, when a bad thought came, I would quickly say, “I’m sorry, Lord. Forgive me for this thought in Jesus’ name.” Then, another thought would come and I would quickly say, “Forgive me, Lord, for that thought in Jesus’ name.” Then, if I happen to doubt His forgiveness, I would confess my unbelief and ask for forgiveness: “Forgive me, Lord, for doubting You.” Before I knew it, I was oppressed in my mind and so sin-conscious instead of Christ-conscious! My friend, when you fall into sin, God wants you to be Christ-conscious. This means that when you have missed it, God wants you to be conscious that in Christ, you have forgiveness of sins through His blood. God wants you to be conscious that Christ was wounded and bruised for your sins, and that the chastisement for your peace was upon Him. (Isaiah 53:5) When you are Christ-conscious, you will have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. (Romans 5:1) You will know that you are the righteousness of God in Christ because He who knew no sin was made sin for you. (2 Corinthians 5:21) He took your sin and now you have His righteousness. So when you fall, don’t be conscious of your failure and feel bad or condemned. Instead, be conscious of who you are in Christ, pick yourself up, dust yourself off and continue your walk with God! https://www.josephprince.org/blog/daily-grace-inspirations/be-christ-conscious |

1 Thessalonians 5:9 For God did not appoint us to wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, When you think of Sodom and Gomorrah, what comes to your mind? God’s wrath and fiery judgment? The truth is that God was not all out to judge the people of Sodom and Gomorrah. He was not on a sin hunt. He was, in fact, on a righteousness hunt! This is evident because if God was on a sin hunt, He would not have allowed anyone to stop Him. But we know that He let Abraham in on what He was about to do and even allowed Abraham to entreat Him. Abraham asked God if He would destroy Sodom if He could find 50 righteous people there. God’s reply was, “If I find in Sodom fifty righteous within the city, then I will spare all the place for their sakes.” (Genesis 18:26) Abraham then asked God if He would destroy the city if there were only 45…40…30…or 10 righteous. And each time, God’s reply was that He would spare the place for the sake of the righteous. Abraham stopped at 10. If he had gone down to just one righteous man, I believe God’s reply would have been the same because He was on a righteousness hunt. Now, if God was not all out to destroy then, how much more today, when God has already judged our sins in the body of His Son? At the cross, Jesus exhausted all of God’s fiery judgments until there was no more fire of God’s wrath left for us! Today, God is not judging us for our sins because He has found the righteousness of the one Man—Christ Jesus. So do not let anyone tell you that God judges you for your sins and punishes you with cancer, car accidents, business failures or brokenness. God would be unjust if He punished the same sins twice—in Jesus’ body and then in yours. Beloved, God is not out to judge you but bless you today, not because you deserve it, but because Jesus was judged and punished in your place! https://www.josephprince.org/blog/daily-grace-inspirations/god-is-not-on-a-sin-hunt |

Believers, see the video below for what happened when Jesus Christ the Lamb of God paid the price for our sins. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zkcDDEDAJ10&feature=youtu.be The setting is that of the temple under the Old Covenant (the law of Moses) where the sinner brought an offering to the priest to make atonement to cover each one of his sins. But according to Hebrews 10:1-2: "The old system under the law of Moses was only a shadow, a dim preview of the good things to come, not the good things themselves. The sacrifices under that system were repeated again and again, year after year, but they were never able to provide perfect cleansing for those who came to worship...5 That is why, when Christ came into the world, He said to God, “You did not want animal sacrifices or sin offerings. But you have given Me a body to offer. 6 You were not pleased with burnt offerings or other offerings for sin. 7 Then I said, ‘Look, I have come to do your will, O God— as is written about me in the Scriptures.’” Jesus Christ is our one offering for sin. His sacrifice is not like that of the old system which had to be repeated again and again, with each sin and year after year yet which could not provide perfect cleansing for worshippers. His sacrifice does not last only until our next sin. In Him, we do not become unrighteous until we "confess" or do things to get right with God again. IT IS "ONE SACRIFICE FOR SINS FOREVER." See verses 11- of the same Hebrews 10: 11 Every priest stands day after day ministering and offering the same sacrifices time after time, which can never take away sins. 12 But this Man, after offering one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down at the right hand of God. 13 He is now waiting until His enemies are made His footstool. 14 For by one offering He has perfected forever those who are sanctified." Believer, because of Christ's sacrifice, we are not righteous only until our next sin. God's gift of righteousness to us in Christ is an everlasting righteousness that cannot be undone by acts of sin nor earned by human effort at obedience. Romans 5:19 tells us that it is by "one Man's obedience" Christ's, that "many will be made righteous." Many are afraid to preach the gospel (only one; only Grace) because they feel this will cause people to go on sinning sprees. Such trust human effort at obeying the law (the arm of flesh that will fail) over the grace of God of Whom it is written inTitus 2: "He gave his life to free us from every kind of sin, to cleanse us, and to make us His very own people, totally committed to doing good deeds." Such false doctrine teachers contradict God's word which tells us that receiving God's ABUNDANCE OF GRACE and HIS GIFT OF RIGHTEOUSNESS is how to reign over sin and death. See Romans 5:17- "For the sin of this one man, Adam, caused death to rule over many. But even greater is God’s wonderful grace and His gift of righteousness, for all who receive it will live in triumph over sin and death through this one Man, Jesus Christ." This is the message of the cross. According to 1 Corinthians 1:18- "For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God." "Death" in Romans 5:17 above includes all of its symptoms of anxiety, stress, depression, silly mistakes, lack, sickness and fast-tracked ageing and physical death. Finally the second death in hell. Christ saves from all, even from sins. Because of wrong teaching, many believe that it is their acts of sin that bring this "death" to their doorstep and so try to obey the law to save themselves from their sins and consequently, God's wrath. But the more one tries to obey the law to get right with God, the more sin has dominion. See Romans 6:14- "For sin shall not have dominion over you for you are not under law but under grace." But many have this verse backwards. Such try to save themselves from their sins via the arm of flesh that will fail and reject Christ of whom it is written: "She will bear a Son; and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.” Believer, let Christ love you into wholeness, save you from your sins and save you from God's wrath. See Romans 5:9- "Much more then, because we have now been declared righteous by His blood, we will be saved through Him from God’s wrath." Believers, all of our law-keeping, obedience and good works cannot make any righteous or save from God's wrath. Those who choose to enter through this road that leads to destruction (many are on it today!) let sin have dominion (Romans 6:14) and let death reign over them: "But those who depend on the law to make them right with God are under His curse, for the Scriptures say, “Cursed is everyone who does not observe and obey all the commands that are written in God’s Book of the Law.”" Galatians 3:10. Because God loved us so and does not want any to perish, He gave His own Son, the Lamb of God Himself to save us from sin and death. 2 Corinthians 5:21 tells us "For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us that we might become the righteousness of God in Him." At the cross there was a righteous exchange. God's Justice and Mercy met, showing us the greatest expression of love: "In this is love: not that we have loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the atoning sacrifice for our sins." 1 John 4:10 Believer, see a picture of God's love for us our reality in Christ today in the shadow of the old system that is the law of Moses as shown in the video. Notice one thing in the old system which is a shadow of the new: The priest examines the LAMB and not the SINNER. God is not looking at how good you are. He is looking at how good our Sacrificial Lamb is; the One He provided for us by Himself, Jesus Christ, of whom John the Baptist said "Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!" Today, with Jesus Christ the Lamb of God as your "one sacrifice for sins forever," God is not examining you for your sins. Christ is our perfect atonement. God sees you as Christ is in this world, even in your imperfections. See 1 John 4:17- "Love has been perfected among us in this: that we may have boldness in the day of judgment; because as He is, so are we in this world." If we ever forget anything, by Grace, let us remember and meditate on (speak out) these nine words: "as He is, so are we in this world." Not when we die but "in this world." Today. Right now. Always. Is Christ depressed? Is Christ sick? Is Christ suicidal? Is Christ worried? Is Christ barren? Is Christ lacking in any good thing? NO!!! These "symptoms of death" might be present with you now but by God's grace alone, keep on confessing the good that you want to see; the same way God saw darkness at the beginning of creation and said "Light, be!" And there was light. Just imagine what would have happened if God had said: "This place is so dark and without form!!!" The darkness would remain and there would be no creation. Remember 2 Corinthians 3:18: "But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord." When you look at yourself in the mirror of your life, see not your flaws, sins and addictions but what our Heavenly Father has made you to be in Christ: Righteous. Confess "as Christ is so are we in this world" and watch the Holy Spirit transform you to the image of His glory, from glory to glory. We are transformed by looking to Jesus for Salvation, not by doing. Salvation is not about behaviour modification by human effort aka the arm of flesh that will fail. Salvation is all about hearts' transformation. In Christ, we are not our own righteousness. The Lord is our Righteousness. In Him, we don't HAVE TO live right; we GET TO live right. Beware of those who say "Yes you are saved by Grace but you still have to keep the law in order to get right with God, enjoy His blessing and make heaven." Such only rob you of your inheritance in Christ, because "It was not through the law that Abraham and his offspring received the promise that he would be heir of the world, but through the righteousness that comes by faith." Romans 4:13. Ephesians 2:8-9 tells us- "For it was only through this wonderful grace that we believed in Him. Nothing we did could ever earn this salvation, for it was the gracious gift from God that brought us to Christ! 9 So no one will ever be able to boast, for salvation is never a reward for good works or human striving." Believers, Jesus Christ "our High Priest offered Himself to God as a single sacrifice for sins, good for all time." By God's grace, stop driving to earn salvation and rest in His finished work. In Him, the thoughts of the Holy Spirit become our action. The Holy Spirit will teach you all things. http://rightbelieving101..com.ng/2018/04/as-christ-is-so-are-we-in-this-world.html?m=1 |

A Bible Study by Olamide Obire We know why our Saviour Jesus Christ came to die - because of our sins. But do you know why our Abba Father raised Him from the dead? We see this in Romans 4:25 where it is said of our Saviour: "Who was delivered up because of our offences, and was raised up because of our being declared righteous." The TPT puts it this way: "Jesus was handed over to be crucified for the forgiveness of our sins and was raised back to life to prove that He had made us right with God!" His resurrection is the divine evidence that we have been made righteous forever and apart from works. Think of this as being put on prison death row for something you did ("all have sinned" and "the wages of sin is death".) This prison is not just any kind of prison. The inmates range from well-behaved, moral people to the vilest offenders. It doesn't matter if a person's sin is great or small. (James 2:10 says "For the person who keeps all of the laws except one is as guilty as a person who has broken all of God’s laws." It is a prison from which escape by human effort is impossible. In order to avoid this prison by human effort, you must be 100% righteous before God; but Romans 3:20 says-"For no one can ever be made right with God by doing what the law commands. The law simply shows us how sinful we are." Death is inevitable in this prison. The only way to pay your sin debt is to finish serving your sentence by dying in the prison. A stranger who happens to be the son of the judge that sentenced you for your crime comes along and takes your place; He agrees to endure this horrid prison (the curse of the law) and then die for you. You didn't even know this was possible but the judge tells you that you are free to go without paying any price because He gave His own Son to pay the wages of your sin. Years later, you're walking down your street, still scared that the swap is too good to be true and not quite sure that your sins have been paid. Then you bump into the son of the judge. You immediately KNOW that your debt of sin has been fully paid. Why? Because the One who gave Himself up for you is alive and no longer in prison. With the Judge being the Righteous Judge, there is no way He could have come out of that prison without paying the full price of your sin. Christ raised from the dead is the divine receipt of our being declared righteous/guilt-free by God! Remember He "was raised up because of our being declared righteous." To believe that one still has to try to obey the law in order to be declared righteous before God is to deny His resurrection. This is unbelief. Believers, because God so loved the world, He gave His own Son to die for our sins. He raised Him from the dead as a testament to the fact that all who believe that Christ died for their sins are no longer owing God a debt of payment of the wages of sin. Christ's resurrection is the divine receipt declaring that we have been made righteous in the sight of God. In Him, our sin debt has been fully paid. Not only did He die to pay our sin debt and was raised from the dead because of our justification, He gave us the Helper (Holy Spirit) that teaches us all things and transforms us to the image of His glory, from glory to glory (2 Cor. 3:18,) so even though our sins - past, present and future- have been paid, we cannot use this as an excuse to sin; not because of our self-effort and discipline but because the Holy Spirit transforms us, causing us to live right. The desire to sin is taken away! What a life! To believe that His perfect work of paying the wages of our sin has not made us righteous as He is righteous is to deny Christ. Those who preach that it is your law-keeping and good works that give one right-standing with God deny Him. This teaching is a lie and this is the result of believing it: Galatians 5:4- "For if you are trying to make yourselves right with God by keeping the law, you have been cut off from Christ! You have fallen away from God’s grace." Beloved of God, by His grace, let's not be found here. But does this righteousness last only until our next sin? NEVER! Christ our High Priest "offered one sacrifice for sins for all time" according to Hebrews 10:12. His one sacrifice has taken away our past, present and future sins, unlike those of the priests under the Old Covenant. See what Hebrews 10:11 says of them: "Day after day every priest stands and performs his religious duties; again and again he offers the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins." Hebrews 10:14 puts our life in Christ thus: "For by one sacrifice He has made perfect forever those who are being made holy." In Him, we are forever righteous. We DID NOT earn this righteousness with our good works to begin with so our mistakes and misdeeds CANNOT make us lose it. The Parable of the Lost Sheep shows us that our Lord Jesus Christ is not in the business of killing His sheep that go astray/get wounded or leaving them to rot where they fell so the devil can devour them alive; no matter how His sheep come to be in that fallen situation. His strength is made perfect in weakness- our weakness. If we fall, He finds us and carries us home on His shoulders, and He rejoices. He is Saviour. He Himself said "I will never leave you nor forsake you." Even when your troubles are of your own making, He will help you. See Proverbs 28:26- "Self-confident know-it-alls will prove to be fools. But when you lean on the wisdom from above, you will have a way to escape the troubles of your own making." This is LOVE. But God's grace is not a license to sin as many who do not yet understand say. Think of the things our Saviour had to go through for us in this prison that He endured for our sake: scourged, crushed and crucified. Does this immediately make you want you to go out and commit sin? Sin is a prison and many are trying to get out, not rush in! Preach grace and let grace take care of the sinner's sin problem. Matt. 1:21 says of Grace, Christ Himself: "She will bear a Son; and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.” Grace is our Teacher, not you or I. We cannot save ourselves. Christ saves. Put in human effort at attaining righteousness and it is no longer grace (Romans 6:11) and thus no salvation. In Christ, God will NEVER AGAIN be angry with us or punish us. See this in Isaiah 54:9 which outlines the promise of the Lord to those whose righteousness is from the Lord; believing that Christ was raised from the dead "to prove that He had made us right with God!" “Just as I swore in the time of Noah that I would never again let a flood cover the earth, so now I swear that I will never again be angry and punish you." He corrects us when we mess things up but never with things like sickness, the curse or anything that Christ sacrificed Himself to save us from. Hebrews 12:10 says our Abba Father chastens us "for our profit, that we may be partakers of His holiness" Grace is the One Who teaches us to forsake worldly lusts and redeems us from "every lawless deed" according to Titus 2. Would you really let your neighbour's dog bite your beloved child to death because he didn't listen when you told him to stay put in the house? You will protect him and even warn your neighbour to put his dog on a leash or else you will crush it! How much more our Father in heaven who trains us up in the way we should go that we should never depart from it? This is grace- undeserved, unmerited favour. Look what Hebrews 12:28 says of grace: "Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom which cannot be shaken, let us have grace, by which we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear." Only by grace can we truly serve God the way He wants us to. Christ does it all. He is the righteousness of all who believe. The Holy Spirit will teach you all things. Believe Right and you will Live Right. http://rightbelieving101..com.ng/2018/04/christs-resurrection-divine-receipt-of.html?m=1 |
