kelvin1191:sir thanks for your input. I'm sure good at what I am doing, I have never had a bad job or complain from any customer so far, thank God for that. And keeping heathy customer relationship, well I have been doing that for long some are even owing me money and when your calls too much they put your number on blacklist and if it is tools and machine to work they're available. The work is not just coming forth that is my issue and time as they said wait for nobody. |
Good morning house, I have been on this forum for quite sometime now but I decide to register and seek advice from people. Mods pls I posted this here to gain more view and more response. I really need your advice because I'm at a crossroad here. I came to Abuja in 2010 to learn handwork that will help me in financing myself to higher institution, so I went into plumbing. I learned everything about plumbing for good three years, so by 2014 I have become my own boss. Life was somehow good initially I was getting little little contract and I was hoping for better days ahead, but things have not be going as planned. I couldn't even get admission into any University cuz I'm so low on cash, sometimes there will be work and sometime it will be like there's no more construction work going on in Abuja. I kept believing and pushing but this year I decided I need to change work. Thanks to nairaland I came across programming section so I decided to give it a try, I got a laptop and have been taking course online by watching videos on YouTube hoping that I will be a web developer and pick some other skills too the more I venture into it. The last time I was given a contract job as a plumber was January 2022, it has been maintenance work that i have been surviving on and it doesn't come by every time. I pay my house rent with this maintenance, pays some bills like water and electricity bills. Thing is I don't know if there's another work out there for me to learn because clearly site work is not yielding money anymore and more people are learning this plumbing, electrical, painting, carpentry and so many but there is no work. Workers are too much and the job available is too small. I would have venture into business if only I have capital to start. I am 28 years old guy and I barely sleep because am scared of ending up with poverty I don't even know the next step to take. Currently no job, no income, all I do is wake up pray and watch tutorial videos on YouTube then put it into practice. Sometimes I might not even have what to eat in the morning till evening, and it kept repeating it self. At this stage my life ought to have direction but i don't see where i am going. I felt like I learned the wrong work and I don't know where to go from here on. I need advice please. |
