A popular Islamic cleric, Hammed Ademola, has waded into the marital crisis between Tonto Dikeh and her estranged husband, Olakunle Churchill.

Recall that Tonto was all over the news in the past weeks after claiming that her husband is a 40-seconds man.

She also accused him of being diabolic and an internet fraudster.

However, Ademola while reacting to the story, said that Tonto will never get married again.

According to him, Tonto did not want to marry someone on her level but she wanted to be with a wealthy person.

Also, he added that a wife should not have called out her own husband in that manner. Conclusively, the cleric declared that the actress will never get married again for disgracing Churchill.

Olusegun Obasanjo, Nigeria's former President who spoke at the 2nd session of the Synod held at the Cathedral Church of St.Paul’s Anglican Church, Oleh in Isoko South Local Government Area of Delta State, stated that Buhari's government strengthened Boko Haram by paying ransoms.

The former President who warned that every insecurity situation in Nigeria must be taken seriously and be addressed at once without favouritism or cuddling, spoke on the topic, “Mobilizing Nigeria’s human& natural resources for national development and stability”.

Admitting that Boko Haram and herdsmen acts of violence were not treated as they should at the beginning, Obasanjo stated that Buhari's government strengthened Boko Haram by paying ransoms which they have continuously denied. He said;

“They have both incubated and developed beyond what Nigeria can handle alone. They are now combined and internationalized with ISIS in control. It is no longer an issue of lack of education and lack of employment for our youths in Nigeria which it began as, it is now West African fulanization, African Islamization and global organized crimes of human trafficking, money laundering, drug trafficking, gun trafficking, illegal mining and regime change.

“Yet, we could have dealt with both earlier, and nip them in the bud, but Boko Haram boys were seen as rascals not requiring serious attention in administering holistic measures of stick and carrot. And when we woke up to the reality, it was turned to industry for all and sundry to supply materials and equipment that were already outdated and that were not fit for active military purpose.

“Soldiers were poorly trained for the unusual mission, poorly equipped, poorly motivated, poorly led and made to engage in propaganda rather than achieving results. Intelligence was poor and governments embarked on games of denials while paying ransoms which strengthened the insurgents and yet governments denied payments of ransoms. Today, the insecurity issue has gone beyond the wit and capacity of Nigerian Government or even West African Governments”.

A woman has been caught red-handed trying to kidnap a four-year-old boy at a McDonald fast food joint.


The kidnapper

A woman suspected of attempting to kidnap a 4-year-old child at a McDonald's has been arrested, Los Angeles police said.

Maralyn Ramos, 33, was arrested Wednesday night in downtown Los Angeles and booked on suspicion of attempted kidnapping, police said. Bail was set at $100,000.

Ramos has lived in Arizona. It's unclear how long she had been in California, police said, adding that she was arrested after investigators received a tip.

Details about the arrest were not immediately available. It was not immediately clear whether Ramos has an attorney.

In security camera video captured Tuesday afternoon, a woman can be seen carrying a 4-year-old out of a McDonald's restaurant located in the 1300 block of East Olympic Boulevard. As the woman attempted to enter a parked vehicle, a witness stopped her and she fled on foot from the area, the LAPD said.

The owner-operator of the restaurant issued a statement early Thursday.

"Our biggest priority is always the safety and well-being of our customers and employees. We are fully cooperating with local law enforcement during this investigation," said owner-operator Veronica Sanchez.

Police said Thursday that they are still searching for a woman in a second kidnapping attempt that was reported Wednesday on Martin Luther King Boulevard and San Pedro Street in Los Angeles, police said. The kidnapper in that case pulled a 4-year-old child's hand and attempted to walk away with the victim while the boy was walking with a family member, police said.

The woman was stopped by a witness in the area and again fled, the LAPD said.

Los Angeles police said Thursday they have found security camera video on the kidnapping and expect to release it soon.

The Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Ibrahim Magu has urged Nigerian students to desist from cyber crimes, popularly referred to as Yahoo -yahoo and all other forms of internet-related offences that could derail their destinies.

Magu stated this on Wednesday, May 15, 2019 while delivering a lecture at the University of Ilorin on the dangers of internet fraud.

The EFCC boss who was represented by Head, Advance Fee Fraud and Other Fraud Related Offences, Ilorin Zonal Office, Olamide Sadiq said anyone caught for offences bordering on internet fraud would be detained, prosecuted and jailed.

According to him, “if you use pictures that do not belong to you just with intent to defraud someone, it is impersonation. You have committed an offence that carries five years imprisonment.

“I am emphasising to you on the need to desist from cyber crimes. If you are found to be in possession of fraudulent documents, you have committed a criminal offence which has a great consequence.”The EFCC boss informed the students that the Commission has special powers to cause investigations into anyone or corporate body, suspected to have participated in economic and financial crimes.”

When it comes to issue of internet fraud, Section 7 of the EFCC Act gives a special power to the Commission to investigate anyone suspected to have committed internet crimes. “A police officer can arrest an internet fraudster and bring him/her to the Commission. If we find out that the person is innocent, we will allow him or her to go.”

Some Nigerian fraudsters have landed themselves in serious trouble after being arrested in Singapore.


The suspects

Two Nigerian men who are said to be members of an internet love scam syndicate, have been charged in Singapore with recruiting local women to collect money for them.

According the police, such scams where victims part with cash after a fraudster feigns romantic interest in them are a growing concern in the city-state with police reporting 660 cases last year.

The Nigerians have been identified in local news reports as Oladayo Opeyemi Awolola, 34, and Gbolahan Ayobami Awolola, 37 – they were apprehended by Malaysian authorities in Kuala Lumpur last month and sent to Singapore on Monday.

The men allegedly recruited two Singaporean women “as money mules to receive criminal proceeds linked to internet love scams in Singapore” between 2017 and 2018, according to a police statement.

The women received Sg$85,700 ($63,000) during that period and turned the money over to syndicate members in Malaysia, police said.

The Nigerians could be jailed for up to five years each and fined if convicted. It is the first time that suspects based overseas are involved in internet love scams have been arrested and sent to Singapore for prosecution, police said.

Most of the internet love scams reported last year in the city-state involved fraudsters claiming to have sent parcels containing luxury items or money.

Their local accomplices would call the “recipients” and claim the parcels were being held by the authorities for inspection, and would only be released if they transferred money to a bank account.

The Nigeria Prisons Service and Fire Service are reportedly set to employ as many as 9,675 Nigerians.

The Nigeria Prisons Service and the nation’s Fire Service are to employ nearly 10,000 Nigerians, NAN reports.

While the Prisons will employ 7, 475, the Fire Service will recruit 2,200 new staff.

Both agencies received approval for the recruitments from the Civil Defence, Fire, Immigration and Prisons Services Board.

The board is headed by the Minister of Interior, Abdulrahman Dambazau.

The board has also approved the abolition of dichotomy between holders of Bachelor’s Degree and Higher National Diploma (HND) in the services under the Ministry of Interior, the News Agency of Nigeria reported Tuesday.

A statement signed by the Secretary of the board, Al-Hassan Yakmut, said the chairman of CDFIPB gave the approval at the board’s meeting held between May 9 and May 10 in Abuja.

It was not immediately clear when the recruitment processes will start.

Mr Yakmut said after the board’s meeting, a technical committee was immediately set up to work out modalities for the implementation of the equating of degree and HND holders.

“The meeting also approved the recruitment of 2,200 candidates into the federal fire service, and 7,475 candidates into the Nigeria Prisons Service.

“Dambazau wishes the candidates a successful career in the services and pledges commitment of the board to ensuring adequate pre-deployment training,’’ he said.

A woman has told the story of how she became a drug-dealing nun after her husband left totally penniless.

A single mum left penniless by her bigamist husband has revealed the incredible story of how she became a nun and started a multi-million pound DRUGS empire.

Raised a Catholic, Christine Meeusen, 59, worked as a business analyst in Georgia, USA.

Falling in love with a divorced man, she had three children and was happy - living in Amsterdam in the Netherlands.

But in 2005 disaster struck when she learnt her $1million dollar savings had vanished - and her husband had taken them.

She then uncovered further deception when she uncovered a filing cabinet in their garage which revealed her husband had never got divorced - and was still married to his first wife.

Now, following a series of bizarre life decisions, she lives as a nun in California and has a cannabis empire worth an astonishing $5 million, she told the Mirror.

"It felt good getting rid of Christine and becoming Sister Kate," she explained.

"My dream was to empower women like myself, who’d had a rough path in life, to run their own business – producing medicinal cannabis oil to help the sick."



Sister Kate told how - after being betrayed by her husband - she fled to California with her children where she would do people's taxes in return for chickens which she would kill to eat.

She then had the brainwave of growing cannabis - because California law dictates you can grow a limited number of plants for personal use.

It was around this time she also began to become interested in social welfare, calling herself Sister Occupy and dressing as a nun on political marches.

After strangers told her they related to her story and ideas, however, she decided to start her own new age religion - the Sisters of the Valley.

Now, calling her self Sister Kate, she produced cannabis oil with her 'sisters' to sell around the world.

In the Breaking Habits film she advocated the use of cannabis for treating illness such as epilepsy.

"It’s a wonderfully healing plant, gradually the world is starting to open up to the idea of cannabis as medicine, rather than treating it as a dangerous drug," she said.

The creation of additional emirates in Kano State on Wednesday may not be the last turbulence coming the way of the Emir of Kano Muhammadu Sanusi II, as an ongoing probe by the state government’s anti-corruption agency could lead to charges being filed against the monarch, Daily Trust on Sunday has gathered.

Sanusi’s status as the only first class emir in the state was whittled when the state government balkanized the emirate, carving out four new emirates and appointing first class emirs to rule them.

The exercise which lasted only two days, fuelled speculations that the government was going after the emir over his rumoured support for the opposition during the recently concluded governorship election.

The fresh investigation by the Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission as well as the bid to appoint new first class emirs by the state assembly kick-started almost simultaneously last week.

The investigation is re-launched exactly two years after the agency first announced that it was probing “outrageous and questionable” spending that had emptied the Kano Emirate Council’s account.

The former Personal Private Secretary to the emir, Alhaji Isa Sanusi Bayero, also known as Isa Pilot appeared before a team of investigators on May 9, following an invitation by the commission. Another aide of the emir is also expected to be questioned soon.

A source in the commission, who craved for anonymity, yesterday informed a Daily Trust correspondent that the ongoing probe on by the commission was targeting the emir, noting that “It will reach to a point where the commission will transfer the case to court for the emir to defend himself. After our findings, whoever is found wanting in misappropriating the public funds will be dragged before the court.”

A government source Saturday disclosed that Emir Sanusi, after sensing trouble at the turn of events between the state government and the palace lately, sent business tycoon, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, to beg the governor to have a change of mind.

“I can confidently tell you that when the probe was renewed and the move for creation of four new emirates in the state started, the emir sent the renowned business mogul, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, to Ganduje to plead with him to stop the two moves. However, Ganduje in his response told Dangote to go back and tell the emir that he should choose from three alternatives: To resign on his own or be removed from office or the government will create additional emirates in the state. Ganduje assured Dangote that one of the three options must be implemented by government since the emir will not stop playing partisan politics against him,” the source revealed.

If not for the quick intervention by Dangote, Gaanduje would have dethroned the emir.

However, the source added that even though the governor has spared the emir being removed from office, there is likelihood that after the turbaning ceremony of the four new emirs, Ganduje will transfer the emir to another emirate and replace him with one of the newly appointed emirs.

Speaking about his interface with investigators, Isah Pilot said he was given vouchers and asked to identify them. “I identified some and asked the investigators to give me some time to verify the others. I am going back to the commission tomorrow (Monday) for further questioning. I am ready to give the commission any information it will demand from me,” he said.

n 2017, the Kano anti-corruption agency said its probe stemmed from a petition on transactions which it claimed had emptied the Emirate Council’s account of the sum of N4 billion left behind by the former emir, the late Alhaji Ado Bayero, who died in 2014.

Shedding more light on the matter at the time, a source disclosed that between N150 million or 200 million was transferred from the account in a single day.
