Now I see some other very important reason why we must all join hands together to see to the deep entrenchment of the cashless monetary policy. It sure would have far reaching impact as per curbing the activities of these murderous beasts.

Besides that, it could also reduce incidences of extortion by the police, customs, etc. What a man intent on committing crime doesn't want to hear is one transfering money into their accounts. Such traceable movement of cash is taboo in their books.

Policies are the things we have no shortage of, implementation has always been the snag, especially given the high rate of illiteracy. The average market man or woman or that big food merchant on his lorry going from North to South or vice versa doesn't want to hear anything "electronic transfer". They just want to see their cash "koro koro".

Government should step up its game in ensuring the people of this category embrace these changes. It is the way to go.

And who can blame them? The network infrastructure in Nigeria is a sham. You cannot pay for goods and services with cash transfers and expect a complete transaction. There's always network availability issues making cashless transactions a hell for most people, even breeding mistrust and regrets trying it out. Nigeria has a long long way to go and if the problems (which are easily identifiable) associated with a cashless economy are not dealt with from the root, i think it will take eons before this change can be fully embraced.
