Elizabeth Anne Holmes
Elizabeth Anne Holmes (born February 3, 1984) is an American entrepreneur. She is the CEO of Theranos, a blood test company, which she founded in 2003 at age 19 while she was a chemical engineering major at Stanford University. The company was originally based on her invention and patent for a way to run 30 common lab tests, on blood obtained via a fingerstick, using microfluidics or "lab-on-a-chip" technology - a much faster and cheaper method than traditional lab testing techniques. By 2014, the company offered 200 tests, was licensed to operate in every state in the US, and was valued at nearly $10 billion. Theranos has entered into a partnership with drugstore chain Walgreens to build thousands of Wellness Centers (beginning with California and Arizona) offering a full menu of blood tests directly to consumers at a charge that is generally one-quarter to one-tenth of what others charge.
As of 2014, Holmes had 18 US patents and 66 non-US patents in her name and is listed as a co-inventor on over a hundred patent applications.[7] She is the youngest self-made female billionaire on the 2014 Forbes 400 list, with an estimated net worth of $4.6 billion.

Early Life
Holmes was born in February 1984 in Washington, D.C. Her father, Christian Holmes IV, worked in the United States, Africa and China as part of government agencies such as USAID. Her mother, Noel Anne (Daoust), worked as a Congressional committee staffer. She has a brother, Christian Holmes V, who is the director of product management at Theranos. One of her ancestors was a founder of the Fleischmann's Yeast company. She is related to actress Katherine MacDonald who was married to Christian Rasmus Holmes II (1898-1944).

As a child, she read the biography of her great-great-grandfather Christian R. Holmes, who was a surgeon, engineer, inventor, and a decorated World War I veteran. He was born in Denmark in 1857 and was the dean of the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, where a hospital is named after him. The career of her ancestor inspired Elizabeth to take up medicine, but she soon found that she had a fear of needles. She later described this fear as one of her motivations to launch Theranos.

When she was 9, her family moved to Houston, where her father had taken up a job with Tenneco and where she attended St. John's School. Intrigued by their father's work in China, Elizabeth and her brother learned Mandarin Chinese at a young age. She spent her teenage years in China, and while still in school, started a business selling C++ compilers to Chinese universities.

Education
After graduating from St. John's School in Houston in 2002, Holmes enrolled at Stanford University to study chemical engineering. As a freshman, she was named one of the "President's Scholars" and given a stipend of $3,000 to pursue a research project. She persuaded her chemical engineering professor, Channing Robertson, to use the money for a project in his lab.

Holmes supplemented her childhood knowledge of Mandarin with summer language programs at Stanford. This helped her obtain an internship at the Genome Institute of Singapore. The Institute was working on developing new methods to detect the SARS coronavirus in blood or nasal swabs.

After her return to Stanford she wrote a patent application, which she showed to Professor Robertson, describing a wearable patch that could monitor variables in the patient's blood, administer a medication, and adjust its dosage to achieve a desired effect. Further, a cellphone chip could be put on this patch for remote monitoring - so-called telemedicine. She filed the patent application in September 2003, as "Medical device for analyte monitoring and drug delivery

Business career
Holmes proposed establishing a company to Professor Robertson in the fall of 2003, while she was a 19-year old sophomore at Stanford. She used money that her parents had saved for her education, to establish Real-Time Cures in Palo Alto. Later, she changed the company's name to Theranos (an amalgam of "therapy" and "diagnosis"wink, because she believed that many people had a cynical reaction to the word "cure". Initially, she worked out of a basement of a group college house. A semester later, she dropped out to pursue her business career full-time. Professor Robertson served as a director of the company.

Over the next decade, the company grew gradually, raising $400 million from Draper Fisher Jurvetson and Larry Ellison, among others. During this time, Theranos operated in "stealth mode", remaining highly secretive to avoid potential competitors and investors who could fund a competitor. In 2007, it took three former employees to court, accusing them of misappropriating trade secrets.

By 2014, the company offered 200 tests and was licensed to run in every state of the US. It had 500 employees and was valued at more than $9 billion. Holmes retained control of more than 50% of the company's equity.

As of 2014, Holmes has 18 US patents and 66 non-US patents in her name and is listed as a co-inventor on over a hundred patent applications. Holmes is the youngest self-made female billionaire on the Forbes 400 list, where she is #111 with an estimated net worth of $4.6 billion.

Personal life
Holmes doesn't own a TV and states she works every day from the time she wakes up until she goes to sleep. She says that "What matters is how well we do in trying to make people's lives better. That's why I'm doing this. That's why I work the way that I work. And that's why I love what I'm doing so much." Henry A. Kissinger, former U.S. Secretary of State and a Theranos board member, described Elizabeth Holmes as a "tech visionary...striking, somewhat ethereal, [and] iron-willed" who "combines fierce and single-minded dedication with great charm..." and is "dedicated to transforming health care around the world"

PoliticsNBC Insists Radio Biafra Is Neutralized by joeadex(op): 1:36pm On Jul 18, 2015
Tobi Soniyi

‎The National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) in Abuja is insisting that it has effectively neutralised the Biafran radio station.

A statement signed by the Director General of the NBC, Emeka Mba said the commission "has effectively neutralised illegal broadcasts from the seditious pirate station that has recently shattered the peace in parts of the South-East of Nigeria with unsavoury hate messages."

The commission said that it worked with security operatives to track down, neutralise and confiscate transmitter equipment from several locations in the region.

The statement said: "The commission has also worked with other agencies to remove the transmissions of illegal station from the satellite, and this has put paid to the divisive and disruptive transmissions. We are working on the Internet transmissions."

The commission said it appreciated the concerns expressed by Nigerians over the seditious activities of the illegal 'Biafra Radio' transmitting hate messages, "that are unfortunately designed to create dis unity among Nigerians and mislead young people in a deliberate act of subversion.

The commission called on the public to disregard the hate messages coming from the misguided station.

PoliticsOpen Letter To My Hero Of Leadership, President Goodluck Ebele Azikiwe Jonathan by joeadex(op): 5:38pm On Jul 07, 2015
OPEN LETTER TO MY HERO OF LEADERSHIP, PRESIDENT GOODLUCK EBELE AZIKIWE JONATHAN
-----

Bros J,

Koo-idor Sir. How is London? Sure you're doing fine? grin emoticon
I saw your picture when you arrived at Heathrow airport, you were looking soooo fresh. "Fweshh" as my swggar people will say.

Bros, I'm not happy o. Seriously!
I read in the news this morning, how your govt provided 500,000 jobs in the 1st quarter of 2015, and I was like; WoooW.
This gingered me to write you this letter on the state of things, because, knowing that some APC ignoramuses are waiting for buhari to be giving them N5,000 "joblessnes allowee" makes me really sick.

A lot of his ignoramuses are still waiting for him to make N1=$1 and control Int'l oil prices. (Bros no laugh o, e no funny at all)

Bros, its not a secret that Nigeria was in total mess by the time you took over in 2011.
That restless and senile old man that ruled before Ya'radua did virtually nothing for 8yrs. And Ya'radua didn't have enough time to do much too. The little time you finished for Ya'radua was just formality.

I recall before U were sworn in, you already had your plans outlined, backed with a very serious slogan; "Transformation" and Immediately you were sworn in, you swung to action.

You selected your cabinet without much hassle and went straight to work.

You allowed the legislature settle down to biz immediately, without allowing the bembestic spoilers called godfathers of PDP interfere, even when the opposition rattled the plan of the party in the house of reps, you allowed peace to reign.

This guy you left us with is the opposite.
His ‪#‎Change‬ slogan has turned to ‪#‎Excuses‬. He's slow and sluggish. He's a complete dullard.
When we named him brainless, we thought it was just a political taunt, but right now, we have confirmed beyond reasonable doubt that he is in fact completely Brainless!
Ask Chinedu Nwosu and Aina Bridget they are keeping tab on his dull activities.

He has been giving dumb excuses left-right-center of his early failures and future prospect failures.
He had the guts to tell us "Old age will limit his performance"

Bros J, can you believe he mumusciously blamed you for his inability to appoint ministers?-- hahahahahah. "Bros, I know say you sef laugh" -------How on earth?

But bros, you did something that really impressed me, YOU DIDN'T RESPOND!! - That's classic!!

He even lied again that he met an empty treasury. Imagine!!! -
"I know you heard that too and I'm sure you put up a surprised face when you did".---Same thing as all of us o; Elderstatesman Ojealaro Friday, Donald Ekpo, May Ubeku, Chioma Powers, Hilda Avwenagha, Adaobi Ube, Prince Henry Shield, Agoro Patrick O , Benedicta Awhefada, Amanda Chisom, Jadesola Goodluck, Mojisola Oshodi-glover, Hanson Adonye, Tokunbo Peters, Kimberly Ogba, Igho David, Lanre Olayinka, Daniel Obasi Osi Peter Asika just open our mouths Haaaaaaaaaa!!!!

The thing shocked us, "no be small".
For a man that has spent over $10bil in a month to say he met empty treasury? That's blasphemy. If Sharia try the guy, na death sentence- straight!

Bros, do you know the car this certificateless tyrant drives is way more expensive than yours? I swear!!
He drives a Mercedes-Maybach S600 that costs N52M, compared to your ordinary Mercedes-Benz S 350 which is only N27 million. His total fleet is worth almost N500mil
And that's the same man they said is prudent o.
Bros, you see the CHANGE?

His e-rats and e-demons have suddenly gone dumb. They no longer make noise anymore.

He appointed 2 mumuscious spokesmen, who contradict themselves.
The Yoruba spokesman is daft.
The Aboki spokesman is a joke.

One of the most annoying part is; this buhari guy (bros they now call him Buhari o) promised to tell his brothers, Boko Haram to stop bombing within a month after being sworn in, but instead of that, they now bomb in his name.
Bros, na true I dey tell you. Ask James King and Bile Nuhu, they know everything going on up there.
The terrorists now shout "Sai buhari" before they detonate themselves.
In a month, over 300 people have been killed.
The same terrorists you were on the verge of completely dismantling are now back in fuller force, under their brother and mentor.

Bros J, don't be angry that my letter is going to be long, these things are bothering me. Seriously!!!

This is the right time Eadris Abdulkareem should have sang Nigeria Jagajaga.

Do you also know that, in the middle of all these, buhari who hasn't done anything for the people, has time to leave the privileged comfort of Aso Rock where he's supposed to stay and think of how to move the nation forward and the many-many duties of presidency to go and attend to his cows?

Yesss bros, he did. "I no fit lie, Ifeanyi Baron Okugbo brother of Edwin Dico Okugbo has the pictures, where his pampers were even exposed. Very shameful.

He has now decided to build a helipad at his backyard, so he can continually abandon the work and frequently attend to his cows.
Can you imagine?
The thing tire us o, for a man who has not commissioned a single project for the people, the 1st think he thought of, is his frequent jolly flight to his village.

Bros, hear this one; All the initial Gra-Gra him and his party exhibited during campaigns have been swept away with their own brooms!

Bros, I swear, ask Aare Vincent Olusola Arogbodo Daniel Aroren Ogbegie and Olutoyosi Omotoso
In fact, they have turned the broom into weapons they now use on themselves, beating themselves with it like winches and winzards.

Should I send you the video? I will tell Wale Smith to send it to you.

Its been one fight to the other.
From Senate to House of Reps; so much that, the criminal drug addict Lagos landlord's wife at the senate, has turned to the official winch prophetess of the Senate.
She just dey do waka-shege for men on the floor. Nne Bryte and Chinenye Lauretta have the picture as evidence, so you will know I am not lying.

But bros, our PDP ogas at the Senate and House of Reps are showing APC pepper and who's still in charge.

In Senate; they wanted Lawan, we nack them Saraki, come chook Ekweremadu as deputy. (Don't forget Saraki's real blood is PDP o).

In the House, they wanted Tinubu's boy; that fence scaling tout- Gbajabiamila, we forced Yakubu down their narrow throat (not Yakubu Aiyegbeni o- Yakubu Dogara)

Now everything has scattered. Now now, they are having a supporter of APC NEC meeting, where Tinubu was barred and his boys, Osinbajo, Akande have also boycotted. Franca Uwanoghor Ekpobedafe and Julie Akpa Idoko are peeping at them.

They wrote letters to Yakubu and Saraki, begging for principal offices in the Legislature, those ones threw away the letters. (Bros I know you are laughing now) hahahahahahhaha.

Even this past Wednesday, they were supposed to meet with Snail baba GoSlow (oh, I forgot to tell you, he has a new name now, no more ‪#‎SaiBaba‬, he's now ‪#‎SnailBaba_GoSlow‬), they wanted buhari to bully them to take the party's supporter of APC orders, Yakubu boycotted the meeting. SnailBaba vex!

Zidon Love Love just told me now-now that Yakubu's people in House of Reps are planning to relocate and live under the umbrella.

That's their problem jare bros.

Bros J, see ehn, the most irritating of all the happenings is, they are trying to take credit for your works and legacies. "Very Stupid People"

.The refineries you fixed will soon start pumping fuel.
.The power stations you built have started generating thousands of Mega-Watts, people now have steady power supply.
.The Airports you remodeled are still going on.
.Your Agriculture works and legacies are running smoothly and fantastically.
.You left the economy as 1st in Africa and made the country top 5 investors destination, but with the way this Baba Goslow is going, hmmmmmm. We may lose it o.

Most disgusting part is, the ungrateful Abokis and Almajiris you gave Universities and removed from the streets are the lousiest about it. Yusuf Wada Abdulkadir Bala Minjibirr Mukhtar Bature are examples. And some foolish Southerners too are echoing it. like Sisi Kemi Eko the toilet girl.

But bros, trust us, we put them where they belong. Only Fools will give credit of a Transformer to a brainless Baba GoSlow, who is obviously visionless.

He was never prepared for the job. He never knew you would "Let-Go".
It took him and them by surprise, because they didn't envisage winning, and they know they didn't win.

The whole world knows you sacrificed for peace, if not; Nigeria would have been in ruins by now and we would have been counting dead bodies.---- Twaleyyyy for you bros J. You are a True Hero of Democracy!!

Now, we have realized and understood his pains/frustration when he said you didn't teach him how to govern. Sola Kuti Sunny Martins Mosy Oginni Rosaline Fadipe "no be so"?

But bros J, you sef!?? You just left the mumu old man in the middle of nowhere. Hahhahaha. Bros U harsh for the matter!
.

Imagine bros, how more senseless can these people be when Baba GoSlow senselessly appoints Hell-rufai and Adamu Oshiomole to probe accounts they are the accusers?
Now, they are judges in their own case. Is that not brainless? Bros check am na. Can there be fairness and truth?

And under this same Baba GoSlow o, $3bil has vanished in just 1 month.
Amonia Rita and Grace Okagbare and Kimberly Ogba are keeping accounts.

Bros, that thief Sylva has been freed o.
And rumour says hell-rufai is worth N90bil + 40 mansions. (No shout bros) Hmmmm

Bros I even forgot to tell you; My own very people, Yes, "Yoruba people" said I should apologize to you for betraying you.
They now regret their actions, after being used and dumped by the Abokis, and their expected selfish gains have entered voice mail.

They now call what is happening;
"A NORTHERN CONSPIRACY AGAINST YORUBAS" (in one letter)

(In another letter, they said) :
WE REGRET VOTING BUHARI– South West Leaders

Olatunde Eyitayo Titus and Jagunmolu Oluwadare Lasisi have copies of the letters.

.
Bros J, can you believe this?;
>Tinubu is regreting and quietly asking buhari to resign?
>Bisi Akande is wailing seriously. (He fired letter, dem Abokis fired back)
>Yoruba APC Legislators are angry and crying foul.
>Osinbajo is relegated to mere commissioner and messanger
>Dele Momodu is crying. (That fat frog, waiting desperately to be minister)

Your eccentric brother, Rotimi Amaechi has been kicked out of Rivers state, he now parties endlessly in Lagos and Abuja, drinking Ogogoro up and down, he was sighted drunk around Wuse by Engr Ibinabo Reg Miller.

Bros, Rotimi fall hand badly, he stole everything from govt house, up-to tea spoon. Walai, ask Oraye St. Franklyn , Soty Ray Malik Shabbazz Abdulmalik and Neny Amy.

Bros, many things dey to gist you o, but l don't want to disturb your vacation, but seriously bros J, Apc is the most useless party ever in the history of Nigeria.
Those guys are just greedy, visionless and evil.

Wait bros, do you know buhari is now Abokinizing the country? Dele Aina, Toroko Amos , Kemi Elechi are seriously monitoring.
So far, only Northerners are being appointed into key positions.

I pity our Igbo people this dispensation o.
Them Esther Chikere Louis Azode Obom Otonsiki Ikechukwu Iroha, just dey look dey wonder, which kind of pattern this is.
One day sha, they either get to lead this country or get their Biafra!! (I know you don't like that part, but bros, its inevitable)

.
Bros, let me let you rest jare. I just say make I hail you, gist you and tell you WE MISS YOU! SERIOUSLY!!!
You're the best that was ever called "Excellency" in the history of Nigeria.

.
Wait bros, "sorry one last one" don't be surprised if you hear that the brainless one allowed man and man or woman and woman to marry themselves, he's been following Obama like pepeye for back, he even collected $5bil from Obama to fight his own boko haram brothers.
The same Obama that stood in our way to fight boko haram o.
God will punish all of them. Though you said we should not be swearing, but bros, I swear this one. No vex Bros.

I remember this pitiable one; Bros, this tyrant is on vendetta against your Niger Delta people. He has stopped the school fees of those on scholarship abroad. (That is small)
He sent fighter jets to some parts of ND, Calabar to be specific, under the guise that there are ex-militants hiding in the creeks, in the process killing over 50 innocent people.
Bros, don't you think this is another kind of Odi genocide as perpetuated by former tyrant Obj? Considering the fact that, buhari has not ordered a single gun shot against boko haram.

The media is unusually quiet about all these evils. People say the media has been bought, Uwakwe-mangse Hanna Bella La Belle and Orllumeeday Omo Alagba are witnesses.

But bros, even if they buy all the media houses in the country from North to South, even buy CNN and Aljazeera join, they can't buy Zukerville, so we can't be quiet. Soldiers full ground, armed to teeth, I can't mention all.

They've pulled down many accounts, Portia Emilia Anthony's own was very brazen and Babaduks Ons is back in action but up till now, I can't find Adeyinka Grandson.
They've used SSS to warn and threaten us, even monitoring us, but no shaking bros, we gallant. If they have their way, they will close Zukerville and Twitter, but dem no reach.
Julie A Dyer and Olukemi Faj-Ojo are praying for us.

Ok na bros, let me leave you here to enjoy your well deserved vacation after such excellent performance and Transformation of Nigeria.

Say me well to Mama Peace. Eissshhhh. Mama Peace oooo, better ogbonge woman, not like Aisha, Baba Goslow's wife; Cried fake tears with Chibok women in the afternoon, partied like Rihanna in the evening with Shayo.

Bros J, catch ya, see ya when you start your international missions.
But sir, if they send you to anywhere called Western Germany, abeg don't go oo, na set up! I trust you sef. "E easy to be Dr?"

You will forever remain my hero of Leadership!!!

Your boy'

I know one thing for sure GEJ and OBJ are both failures, between 1999 - 2007 OBJ squandered $16 billion in his giagantic power projects that supposedly entered the Guinness Book of Records as the biggest power project any country could ever embark upon. To help you understand how daft all the folks who have ran this country are, I recently bumped into a news on CCTV about Ethiopia's Grand Renaissance Dam, and I then checked it online.

The dam costs the govt. of Ethiopia $4.8 billion and it has an Installed capacity of 6,000 MW, well it's being constructed at a record time of 6 years and it is the biggest hydroelectric project in Africa currently.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grand_Ethiopian_Renaissance_Dam

If one extrapolates this to Nigeria, this project would be estimated to take 20 years and will never be completed. My point is all these past and present rulers are all failures. GEJ is the latest failure and has earned it real good. He had 6 years and should have corrected the power woes of Nigeria. I've critically looked at the power infrastructures we currently have and the privatization drive, we won't have stable power in the next 6 years, my earnest forecast, especially looking at the body language of politicians in Nigerians and how projects are being executed. Someone has to now accumulate the power expenditures under GEJ's 6 years to understand how much of a waste we have endured in this country, they run in billions of dollars.

For a country like Nigeria and all the wealth at its disposal, crude oil sales et al, we deserve a whole lot. It's like a rich friend sending $1 million to another friend in the US to get him an exotic car, his friend ships down a Honda Discussion Continues grin and tells his friend back in Nigeria to bear with him that it is the best he can with that amount. Just think about it!!

These politicians are all shitheads!!

PoliticsPastor Prof. Yemi Osinbajo And "Integrity" By Egheomhanre by joeadex(op): 5:09pm On Jan 27, 2015
I respect the decision of those Christians who support Gen. Muhammadu Buhari. It is their prerogative to do so. My opposition to Gen. Buhari has nothing to do with his being a Muslim. Those who follow my Facebook posts know that I have been advocating that Alhaji Ibrahim Dankwambo, the Governor of Gombe State, should become Nigeria's President in 2019 after President Goodluck Jonathan's second term. Alhaji Dankwambo is a Muslim Fulani but he is very sound. He is very intelligent, professional, urbane, focused, visionary and, more importantly, he is not an Islamist.

What do I have against Isalmist? An Islamist is a Muslim fundamentalist who subscribes to Political Islam based on the Wahabbist and Salafist schools of thought. They believe that Sharia Law should govern society and they try to impose their beliefs on the educational system, media, culture, politics, the economy and all aspects of life. Some Islamists are violent and have terrorism as in their main agenda. But most Islamists are subtle. They are found in the academia, financial institution, politics and other pursuits. They are non-violent in the main but are just as dangerous as their terrorist peers. You would never suspect that they are Islamists because they are strategic in their operations.

The most dangerous human beings on earth today are Islamists. Even Muslim nations like Saudi Arabia, Morocco, Tunisia, Egypt, Qatar, United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Malaysia, Indonesia etc. are afraid of Islamists and some of them have legislation against Islamism. The Muslim Brotherhood was banned in Egypt for this reason.

Some people think only known terrorist organisations such as ISIS/ISIL, Boko Haram, Al Shabab, Al Qaeda etc. are dangerous. The insidious brand of Islamism is actually more lethal.

Let no one be deceived by the satanic conspiracy of the All Progressives Congress (APC) orchestrated by Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu that Gen. Muhammadu Buhari is a "progressive" and will bring about "change" as Nigeria's President.

Gen. Buhari is an Islamist jihadist who operates TAQIYYA; the Islamic Doctrine of "Holy" Deception. Till date he has not recanted the statement he made in January, 2002, at the closing ceremony of a Koranic Recitation Competition held in Gusau, Zamfara State, where he applauded the Sharia which then Gov. Sani Yerima introduced and he called on all Muslims in Nigeria to vote only for a Muslim President in the 2003 Election who would promote the interest of Islam. Please google it.

It was in 2001 in Kaduna that Gen. Buhari said he would continue to promote the TOTAL implementation of Sharia in the entire country of Nigeria. Also google it.

Christians are often naive politically. In the north, Muslim clerics have been promoting Gen. Buhari as the Candidate of Islam. But in the south, APC has successfully recruited southern Christian leaders and Pastors to sell the lie that "Buhari is not a fundamentalist" despite the obvious evidence that he is. They also push the lie that Pastor Prof. Yemi Osinbajo is a "man of integrity" and would be the defacto President since Gen. Muhammadu Buhari always cedes actual administration of whatever is placed under his responsibility to his immediate subordinate.

Pastor Prof. Yemi Osinbajo is no doubt a very intelligent academic but he is Tinubu's lackey who helps him in all the legal schemes to cover up his looting of Lagos. Prof. Osinbajo makes hundreds of millions of Naira annually just by handling Tinubu's legal matters. He sold out to mammon long ago! He represents only himself.

For the first time, I am now going to disclose publicly my own experience with Prof. Yemi Osinbajo which convinced me that he is not the man he has been hyped to be.

In April-July, 2011, I was part of those whom God chose to use to resist the blatant attempt by Emir Sanusi Lamido Sanusi to impose Malaysia-style Islamic Banking on Nigeria contrary to the Constitution and the provisions of the Banks and Other Financial Institutions Act. Under the auspices of Church For Change (a ministers network led by Pastor Wale Adefarasin, Pastor Tony Rapu and Pastor Ituah Ighodalo) and Apostles in the Market Place (a network of Christian profesionals and businessmen led by Pastor John Enelamah), we organised a Seminar in June, 2011, in Lagos on Non-Interest Banking. Dr. Kingsley Moghalu who was then the Deputy Governor of the CBN in charge of Financial System Stability was in attendance representing Emir Sanusi who was then the CBN Governor. I was one of the speakers at the event. Other speakers were Brett Johnson of the Institute, U. S. A., and Prof. Bankole Sodipo. Dr. Moghalu spoke too. My first surprise was that Pastor Prof. Yemi Osinbajo was absent at the seminar. He was essentially part of our organising committee and might even have spoken during the seminar. When I inquired about him I was told he was at the Election Tribunal representing Mrs Oluremi Tinubu whose election as a Senator was being contested. I wondered then why he did not send someone from his law firm to the Tribunal that day since the case would continue thereafter but our seminar was a one-day event. Many of us had equally left other pressing matters to be at the seminar that day.

After the seminar, we decided that we would sue the CBN as it became clear that Emir Sanusi had an agenda and would not accede to our position that the CBN issue a uniform guideline on Non-Interest Banking which focused on the prudential regulations, risk management and such other banking issues while leaving the religious aspects to individual religious bodies to regulate. I was to be the plaintiff since I had locus standi having applied to the CBN in 2005 for a licence for my Company, Pharez Ltd., to set up a Profit and Loss Sharing Banking (the term actually used in Nigeria's Banking Act). In fact, I actually got involved in the Non-Interest Banking saga initially out of self-interest. The CBN Non-Interest Banking Guidelines were going to make it impossible for a non-Muslim to establish a Non-Interest Banking institution.

Pastor Wale Adefarasin mandated Pastor Prof. Yemi Osinbajo to serve as our lawyer in the case against the CBN. He duly prepared the necessary legal papers but failed to file them at the court ... till date. What we didn't realise then was that he was conflicted being a lackey of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, a leading Muslim politician! The devil used Pastor Prof. Yemi Osinbajo to stop our litigation!

And, today, Islamic Banking is continuing even though Justice Gabriel Kolawole of the Federal High Court, Abuja, gave judgment in another case in 2013 declaring that Islamic Banking was illegal and unconstitutional. He gave an orbiter dictum saying that the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice should compel the CBN to cancel the licence it issued to Jaiz Bank for Islamic Banking and that the CBN should comply with the extant laws of the land. The Judge said the plaintiff in that case had no locus standi so he could not grant the prayers he made in his affidavit filing the suit. He could only give an orbiter dictum which is not legally binding.

Who is the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice? Alhaji Mohammed Adoki. As a devout Muslim, he simply ignored the judgment and the orbiter dictum. The CBN just pretended that it was not even aware of the case much more the judgment given by Justice Gabriel Kolawole.

Pastor Prof. Yemi Osinbajo cannot be trusted to speak for the Church and Christians even if he did become the Vice President. He represents only himself and Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

May God have mercy upon Nigeria and not allow our beloved country to be delivered into the hands of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. May Gen. Muhammadu Buhari never become the President of Nigeria in Jesus' Name. Amen!

So I remain resolute to do my part to ensure that … #BuhariWillNeverBePresident

NIGERIA DI FURE!

PoliticsBefore Voting Buhari: Twenty Things History Teaches Us by joeadex(op): 2:41pm On Jan 27, 2015
History is harsh, because it hides nothing from honest and discerning people. For those who are dancing at the prospect of voting in Muhammadu Buhari, please consider the following historical facts. Interpret them however you choose, but think about them deeply:

(1) Think of the kind of nation the colonial masters bequeathed to us before leaving. They instituted different political, social and legal system in the North and South, but still ran the country as one and left us without any attempt at righting the wrongs they’ve instituted.

(2) Think of the pogroms in the North against the Igbo and Southerners. What were the reasons for this? There was no reason more than that the Igbo and Southerners were seen as taking over the economy and geographical space of the Northerner in a supposed one, free Nigeria.

(3) Think of the First Republic and the issues that led to its demise. These issues ranged from the obvious injustices perpetrated at the centre by a majoritarian oligarchy, which then led to electoral violence in the West and national distrust in the Niger-Delta.

(4) Think of beginning of military intervention in politics and the cost to the nation:
(a) The First Coup of January 1966 and the real motivation of the chaps behind it.
(b) The coming of Major-General Johnson Aguiyi-Ironsi and the counter-coup that saw his death and the mass killing of Igbo officers within the army, including the pogrom that followed up North.
(c) The Civil War and the cost in human and material resources to the nation. Was it necessary? Why the waste? What have we learnt? Think of the Asaba and Owerri massacres (Buhari was part of the latter)? Were they necessary? What have we learnt from that war?

(5) Think of the whole nine years of General Yakubu Gowon, the seven months of General Murtala Muhammed, the four years of Shehu Shagari. The almost two years of Buhari, the eight years of General Ibrahim Babangida, the five years of General Sani Abacha, the one year of Abdulsalami Abubakar and the two years of Umaru Yar’Adua. For almost 40 years of the 54 that we have had flag independence, the North has ruled the nation, but what did their leadership do for Nigeria? Why is the Northern elite now hell-bent on taking back power at the top? How long have they been out of it that they now want it back? What did they do with it for their people when they had it?

(6) Think about June 12 and the murder of MKO Abiola. Imagine the opportunity our country had at that juncture in our history and who truncated it. Who are the beneficiaries of the truncation of June 12, but Buhari and the industrial-military complex that backs him now as members of the APC?

(7) For the Yoruba, think about the power you have now and how to use it responsibly. When Obafemi Awolowo had it, he used it responsibly and this nation is grateful for it. For those who are hailing Bola Tinubu as some kind of political genius, do they think Tinubu is safe under a Buhari presidency as he has been under Jonathan? Do they not see how easy it would be for Buhari to pluck out Tinubu in a power tussle over control of the APC under the guise of fighting corruption? Do they think there is anything a Vice President Yemi Osinbajo can do in the circumstances? What would be the fate of the Yoruba at that point?

(cool Think about the National Question and what this false change would mean for the Southern minorities and the nation. Since the Willink Commission of 1958, their troubles have been in the front burner of national discussion and we have shouted ourselves hoarse for a Sovereign National Conference (SNC). Whether we want to believe it or not, Jonathan’s presidency sort of doused the raging fire, so what would his ouster do? Think about the Orkar Coup of 1992 and what motivated those young men now lost to the firing squad.

(9) For the Yoruba, think about those who today mostly populate the highest and middle level echelon of the oil industry. They are not Niger-Deltans; they are young Yoruba professionals and Tinubu who worked with Mobil knows this. Are you prepared to sacrifice them and their career to install a Buhari who, from his actions and utterances, look bent on dipping the Koran in the sea in the form of establishing Sharia all over Nigeria? Does anyone think the South-South will sit down and share the oil wealth with a nation of the sort Buhari has in mind? Does anyone really think Buhari has the temperament to hold a complex Nigeria together?

(10) To the Northerners, think about what we are already seeing about Buhari on the campaign trail. Does he look like a healthy person? His gaunt, austere look is not just about his stature. The man is old and ill and this campaign will take a lot from him. If, God forbid, he does not survive this campaign or his first term where would that put this country? Does anyone think that the power-mongers of the North will simply stand by and let the Vice President take over constitutionally? Are we prepared to go through the Yar’Adiua experience again, especially this time when they are likely to be more desperate? What would it mean for those in the North who think it’s their turn to take over, rather than wait till 2019 when they are likely to have a more vibrant candidate with real national appeal contesting for the presidency and with a chance to win and govern in peace?

(11) Think of Buhari as the head of state and how he ran the nation. The day he was overthrown, I was at the parade ground at the Orientation Camp in Toro, Bauchi where I was serving my NYSC. I remember that the chap who was our Commandant was a young Captain said to be a cousin to Brigadier Joshua Dongoyaro who announced the overthrow. His second-in-command was then Lieutenant Ugo Buzugbe who is today a Major General. Once word reached us of the overthrow, the whole camp went agog with jubilation! On the day, I was delegated by my friends to go to Jos to buy some things for a party we were planning. I got there and the whole city was jubilating! We heard of spontaneous jubilation all over the country. Today, some brilliant, but devious spin-doctors are painting Buhari as a great leader who is now making us feel nostalgia for his time! Only fools who would want to be treated like animals and butchered without reason would look at Buhari and say he is the change we need. Yes, we might need change, but not Buhari! We are not a cursed people! We should never go back to our national vomit!

(12) Think about his manifesto and what he offers. Is there anything there that he can do better than Jonathan? He talks about fighting corruption, but Buhari is a corrupt man being shielded by spin-doctors! The facts of his corruption are there! How can anyone believe the lies about his poverty? What poor man contests every presidential election since 2003 in such a grandiose manner? Can’t we see the corrupt people he consorts with and those interested in sending him to Aso Rock? Does that add up?

(13) Think about this fellow who has been a recurrent name in Nigerian politics since his overthrow by his military colleagues, but who cannot tell us one good cause he has put his name or his money in. Where are the charities he supports? What business is he involved in? What has he been doing with almost N30 million he receives monthly as gratuity? How has he improved himself since leaving office? Why can he not just tender his First School Leaving Certificate, rather than lying and getting others to lie for him? How many scholarships has he awarded, even as we know that his daughter lives the high life in a UK university where she pays more than £16,000 as school fees? How many university chairs has he endowed? How many professional bodies does he support? How many international missions has he helped with? All we have seen him do since is go to BBC Hausa, say some inciting and divisive things and when called out, he proclaims innocence and accuses journalists of misinterpreting him.

(14) Think about his support for Boko Haram and the group nominating him as their representative in negotiation with the Federal Government. Why did he cowardly refuse to be part of the negotiation when he’s spent the whole time attacking the Nigerian Army and the Federal Government over Boko Haram? Does anyone think the present Nigerian Army would accept this type of untrustworthy and divisive figure as Commander-in-Chief? After all, following the annulment of the June 12 election, one of the reasons Babangida said they couldn’t hand over to MKO Abiola was because he wouldn’t have been accepted as Commander-in-Chief. Buhari was one of the beneficiaries of that annulment. I can’t see him being a good Commander-in-Chief. As bad as it sounds, he will do the same mistakes he did the first time and worse and Nigerians would be reduced to jubilating again when a coup topples him. Egypt after the electoral victory of the Muslim Brotherhood comes to mind. And that would be the least terrible of all choices we can get.

(15) Think of Buhari who has no idea of modern governance. Only dishonest people will believe otherwise. Listen to him and see how vacuous he is. No matter how they try to hide his illiteracy, it’s glaring. He has now joined Twitter, because of election, but what does he really know about modern communication? His best phrase is “I will fight….” No, governance is not about fighting; it’s about governing. I don’t want to hear people tell me he would surround himself with the best brains, because anyone without a brain ruling Nigeria will not know the best brains and even when they are there, a man with the ignorant stubbornness of Buhari will not listen to them or know how to use them.

(16) Think of the world we live in and the kind of leadership driving developments in other lands. Think of us in 2015 celebrating a Buhari as our President! The country of Tafawa Balewa, Nnamdi Azikiwe and Obafemi Awolowo celebrating a Buhari in 2015? Some may say Jonathan is not better, but that would be unfair. Jonathan is far better, even if he is not the best we can offer as a nation. Forget the propaganda that he has not done anything, he has. His administration has achieved a lot and those who are honest know this. Indeed, his administration has achieved more for the North than any Northern leader in our history. His problem is that he does not have good marketers. Whatever minuses we think Jonathan has, Buhari will triple them.

(17) Think of the Boko Haram menace and understand that it is not a question of Jonathan failing on national security, but a huge sabotage against our nation by elements looking to benefit from his ouster. One of the worst things done to our nation by that buffoon, Olusegun Obasanjo was the emasculation of our armed forces. He did it when he came into power in 1999 under the pretext that he was professionalizing the army and stopping them from planning coups. His Ministers of Defence, Theophilus Danjuma and Rabiu Kwankwaso oversaw the destruction of the army, even as massive money was voted in the defence budget. Of course, we had no threat. By the time that threat came in the form of Boko Haram, Yar’Adua dealt with it with overwhelming force. But that was the problem. Yar’Adua ordered the killing of Boko Haram activists extra-judicially, but that only earned them international recognition from Global Jihad. With external money and training, they were transformed and under Jonathan, they became the Nigerian franchise of Global Jihad. Then in collaboration with Northern power-mongers they began a process of blackmailing Jonathan. He asked for negotiation, they would not budge; he promised them amnesty, they would not budge. They simply continue to kill defenseless citizens at will, because they know that will undermine Jonathan and the state. They support this with propaganda, inflating number of casualties and working with their political partners to undermine the state and state response at all levels. Meanwhile, when the nation had the OPC problem in the West, Yoruba leaders went out there to sort it out. When we had problems with Bakassi Boys in the East, Igbo leaders rose to the challenge and when we had the militancy in the Niger-Delta, South-South leaders, including Goodluck Jonathan went into the creeks to talk the boys into disarming. Now, what have the Northern leaders done about Boko Haram since it started its rampage? Some wring their hands helplessly, while others like Buhari make political capital out of it! Of course, all Boko Haram wants now is a Northern president who would establish Sharia all over Nigeria and Buhari will give them that. But what that means is that they used the power of their guns to impose on us a national leadership that would take us back to the Middle Ages. I have no scruples with Buhari and his kith and kin that want criminal Sharia, but they cannot impose it on the rest of the nation above our Constitution. I will not vote for my own death! I will not vote for my people’s death! I will not vote to take Nigeria through the darkness that I know a Buhari presidency represents!

(18) Think about the fact that we lost more people to communal, ethnic and sectarian violence under Obasanjo, including deaths by political assassinations, yet everyone is conveniently forgetting this fact and proclaiming Jonathan a weakling. Would we prefer that Jonathan and the military give communities the Odi and Zaki Biam treatment in the name of fighting Boko Haram?

(19) Think about the National Youth Service Corps members and the almost 1000 people that lost their lives up North after the last presidential election simply because Buhari did not win. Did Buhari’s reaction at the time show him as a statesman? Did it show him as someone who cares for the life of Southerners? Is that not the same man who has promised that dogs and baboons would be soaked in blood if the election is rigged this time, which in fact is a code word for massive violence if he loses?

(20) Think Nigerians! Those of you North and South who love this country and who know what we have sacrificed to get here should think of the future. It’s okay to think it’s great removing an incumbent, but think what will replace that incumbent. It’s okay to preach change, but please interrogate that change. Is it really the change we need or a pretence to change that would impose a worse future on us? If the potential for trouble in that new future is worse than the present, stick to what you know. The devil you know is always better than the angel that you don’t know! Those who say if Buhari fails, we will vote him out in four years should remember that we might not have that luxury, because there has to be a living, viable nation before we can talk elections. A word is enough for the patriot!
