Cheapest clean Tokunbo CRV I've seen here. Forgot to state the milage. |
Many thanks for your time Sienna. May the Lord Bless you REAL GOOOOOD!! |
Siena:. . .and my mechanic says he will need to strip part of the engine to adjust/ increase the idle speed. More reason why I need a good vw mechanic. |
Thanks a bunch Sienna. It’s got manual tranny. I'm not a fan of auto transmissions. The first time I noticed the overheating was when I ran into a flood and the fan relay (or whatever it’s called) got damaged which eventually stopped the two fans from working. I have to force the car to work amidst heavy traffic hoping that the cold weather will prevent overheating problems until I noticed hot vapor coming out from the hood. I stopped instantly, got an electrician who changed the relay, fixed the fans and refilled the water reservoir. Once in a while, I do notice the reservoir getting dried up though I have not witnessed the dryness in recent time. Temperature light also blinks (with sound alarm) the moment I start the car the light continues to blink while driving and sometimes stop after 2 or 3 hours of driving. This was noticed after the flood incident and till date. I will need to take it for a diagnostic tests this weekend. Its the most fuel efficient car I have used and the performance is great so I need to keep it. Will also appreciate if you can recommend a good VW auto technician in Lagos. I don’t trust my mechanic with VW’s. Thanks once again for your time. |
delimit:It was an official car for a bank. The owner bought it from the bank where he works. Owner could not continue driving it home because the road to his newly built house is rough and always flooded. He got an SUV and decided to sell out. It was parked for long due to high price placed on it but I bought it when the amount was drastically reduced. delimit:@bolded, Everybody says that, including my mechanic but I am yet to witness it. Anyway, my mechanic confirmed the engine is still OK. I still observe vapour coming out from the tailpipe in the morning. The engine is still sound at 150000k and I have done additional 18000k without any issue. Thanks for your input anyway. |
I bought this car after it was parked for about 7 months without being driven. My mechanic was able to detect fuel pump & spark plugs issue and got it fixed after I bought it last month. It drives fine and I have been using it without any issue. The onlyh problem is that it requires acceleration when ignition is turned on before it can start and I cant use a car in this hot weather without AC. My mechanic is good with my 98 toyota but I dont know how good he is with VW. He assured me he can fix it. Pls let me know what you think. Many thanks. |
@ Siena, I know I can always rely on you on professional advice per automobiles. RPM of my 1.6ltr Bora is between 600-700. The engine goes off when AC is switched on except when in motion. It also overheats when AC is used in hot weather for sometime. My mechanic says the top gasket is weak need to be replaced and that is will require engine dismantling. Pls what do you advice? |
Emperoh:"Egbe bere ugo bere. Nke si na ibe ye ebere, nku kwaa ya". That's another proverb from my people. "Let the kite perch and let the eagle perch. The bird that says it's fellow will not perch will definitely have its wings cut off". The poster is the bird that does not want others to perch. Need I say more? |
@ OP . . .still waiting for the proof. However, the loudest customer is the one who is disatisfied with his client; He will go to every length to make sure that his voice is heared and that his client's business is destroyed forever. We have a bunch of cotonu dealers here that have been handling many transactions for Nlers on daily basis; so far, I have not seen any customer coming out to complain about any fraud from any cotonu dealer. If this is your own way of gaining popularity, you have to understand that "those who destroys others to succed will certainly meet failure at the door of their success". Thank God you made $48,000 profit in 2007 on Nairaland but that's none of our business here. I dont see any reason for your venting your venom on Cotonu dealers if your profit has become less than you expected in recent year. We are tired of waiting for your proof. If you have a genuine claim, post them here and let those involved come out to defend themselves, if not, I'll suggest you delete your posts and stop scarring prospective customers away from people that are trying to earn a living. |
This is not 1998 Mazda. Kindly correct your post. Price is reasonable though. Happy sales. |
Looking forward to dealing with femmy2010 as soon as I get my car allowance. Why?: I see him as a VERY HONEST and down to earth chap who is not out there to reap your pocket. Besides, his prices are always very reasonable. Cheapest I must say. |
1.1 is a good proce for this clean ride. How I wish I saw this earlier. |
Myhouse:I totally disagree with you. It is obvious that you dont know price of this car because this is the cheapest almera I've seen. You need to do your research before you jump into premature conclusions. The wisest thing you can do is to delete your post and stop scaring prospective customers for the seller. |
John 3:16:Thank God I did not allow Nija Mechanics from discouraging me in buying this car. Every mechs you ask will tell you to stay off Bora. I only spent 85k to pim-p the ride and do some maintenance. This is the first German car I've used and I'm impressed with the performance. Sound engine, smooth acceleration, solid sound system. I'm definintely going to keep it. |
Hi folks, I was introduced by a colleague to his friend that need to dispose his Bora. It's got manual tranny. looks exacly like this one and has 1.6 embeded on it. Would inspect it tomorrow and perhaps pay for it if satisfied. The exteriolr looks fine when I checked last night but l was not able to test drive nor access the engine. Would possibly do that tomorrow morning. A general look at the car will tell you that it's been used in Nija for so long. The only thing that beats my imagination is why the owner is selling for just 200k. I guess he's having similar problems explained here by Nija users and need to get rid of it. I dont know how reliable the car is but if additional 100k can put it in good shape, I wont have any regret buying. Can someone please advice me on what to watch out for in this car before I go ahead to buy. |
How about 1.3? Whats the milage? Why selling at such a short period? . . .awaiting your candid response |
Mr Kelly:i heared aboujt that too. |
Kunle-A:Thanks Kunle for the offer. The ride is asolutely clean except that it is above my budget. ganny1:I prefer a 7 seater. Thanks for the offer anyway. sholasho:OK shola. Will 800k land the car at my door step without additional charge? Will be glad if you could post pics. Any color will do as long as long as it is as clean as the pics below:

I prefer 4 cylinder vehicle. I already have a 6cylinder car and will prefer a utility vehicl with a moderate engine. |
I have 750k and really need a 7 seater car with 4 plugs for house & school runs in Lagos. My preference are as follows: 1998 Toyota Picnic 97/98 Isuzu Oasis 97/98 Honda Odyssey I dont mind cotonu cars without custom duties since I do not intend to use it ouside Lagos. |

Ok! 1.680, what do you say |
Will 1.630 fly this ride? if yes, let me know when I can come for inspection. Wher is the exact location? |

t-boss:. . .I'm outta here. |
I'll go for Pathfinder. It's more rugged and sporty. |
I wish it's V4. How about 450k? I will bring the pay tomorrow morning if the amount is ok by you. |
