The Federal Government has said the Madagascar COVID Organics delivered on Saturday by President Umaro Embaló of Guinea Bissau came without “ an invoice ” .
The Chairman of the Presidential Task Force on COVID- 19 , Boss Mustapha , made this known during a briefing in Abuja on Tuesday .

Health / Pawpaw, Goat, Test Positive For COVID-19 In Tanzania by Johnadeyemo247: 9:04pm On May 04, 2020
Accuracy of coronavirus tests used in Tanzania has been questioned by the country’s president after a goat and a papaya both tested positive for the disease.
President John Magufuli, whose government has already faced criticism over its handling of coronavirus outbreak and has previously asked people to pray the disease away, said the kits had “technical errors”.
He said the COVID-19 tests had been imported from abroad, although he did not give further details.
‘We should not accept that every aid is meant to be good for this nation,’ said President Magufuli.
The president claimed he asked security forces to check the quality of the kits and that they randomly obtained several non-human samples, including from a papaya, a goat and a sheep, but had assigned them human names and ages.
The samples were then submitted to Tanzania’s laboratory to test for the coronavirus, with the lab technicians deliberately not made aware of their origins.
Mr Magufuli said the return of positive results on the goat and papaya indicated some people were testing positive despite not having the virus.
“There is something happening. I said before we should not accept that every aid is meant to be good for this nation,” he said, adding that the kits should be investigated.
Mr Magufuli also said he was sending a plane to collect a herbal cure being promoted by Madagascar’s president.

Politics / FG Warns States Against Competing Over Numbers Of COVID-19 Cases by Johnadeyemo247: 8:42am On Apr 28, 2020
National coordinator of the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19, Sani Aliyu, has warned states against competiting with numbers of COVID-19 cases amongst them.
This was said at a briefing of the task force on Monday at Abuja, Aliyu urged state governments to be transparent about figures of cases.
He stated: “COVID-19 numbers is not an issue of competition between states. “There’s no shame if a state comes out with positive numbers.
“In order to deal with an epidemic, we need to have transparency in numbers and that transparency is linked to the number of tests.
“If you do not know the extent of a problem, you’ll not be able to deal with it.
“So I’m appealing to state governments to please continue to support the state emergency operating centres, the state ministry of health and make sure that everybody who needs to be tested for COVID-19 in any state in the country has that opportunity of having the test done.”

Education / WAEC: May/june 2020 WASSCE Not Cancelled by Johnadeyemo247: 12:08pm On Apr 27, 2020
The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) addressed, the May/June 2020 West African Senior Secondary Certificate Examination, 2020 (WASSCE), has not been cancelled.
This was made known in a statement by the Head of WAEC, Nigeria, Mr Patrick Areghan, on Sunday.
The body enumerated that a notice alleging the cancellation of 2020 WASSCE did not come from the council.
The WAEC boss stated,(NAN), “Our attention has been drawn to a fake publication circulating in the social media, to the effect that the WAEC has cancelled the conduct of the WASSCE for School Candidates, 2020, as a result of the Coronavirus pandemic and was therefore, set to refund N22,500 to candidates who had enrolled for the examination.
”The publication is patently false and deceitful.
” It is nothing but the handiwork of mischief makers who are out to defraud innocent and unsuspecting candidates and their parents/guardians.
”This piece of news is certainly not from the WAEC. It falls short of the council’s style, language and factual details. They got it all wrong.
“To begin with, the fee for the examination is N13,950 only and not N22,500.
”WAEC, as an examining body in the sub-region, has not announced the cancellation of the examination.
”It only announced a postponement until normalcy is restored. WAEC couldn’t have made a mistake in the full meaning of its acronym.
”We wish to use this opportunity to reassure all registered candidates, schools and other stakeholders that once the situation returns to normal, the council will come up with a new International Timetable for the conduct of the examination in the West African sub-region.
”This will take effect after due consultations with relevant stakeholders. Candidates are, therefore, advised to disregard the publication and concentrate on studying hard for the examination.”

Sports / Musa, Akinbiyi Numbered In Worst Players’ List By Fourfourtwo – EPL by Johnadeyemo247: 11:10am On Apr 21, 2020
Captain of the Super Eagles, Ahmed Musa and Ade Akinbiyi have been numbered into “The 50 worst players in Premier League history”. This is according to a magazine -FourFourTwo”.
The magazine, incorporated the Eagles captain and British-born Nigerian, Akinbiyi , as couple from those whose careers refused to thrive in the English Premier League.
Ahmed Musa, occupies number 44 on the list. He joined Leicester City in 2016 and scored five goals in 33 games in two seasons.
The magazine pointed out that “ In the glow of their Premier League- winning season, Leicester broke their transfer record to bring Musa to England for £ 16 . 6 m from CSKA, Moscow .
“The Nigerian forward has always been an unremarkable and patchy player, who most importantly, didn’t have a natural place in the Foxes side. At no point in his eighteen months at the King Power Stadium ( 33 games, five goals) did Musa’s transfer ever look likely to be remotely successful. ”
Ade Akinbiyi, born in Hackney, England and has one cap Super Eagles, held the number 29 on the list, ‘‘The 50 worst players in Premier League history”, by FourFourTwo.
“Ade Akinbiyi, Yes , we admit it, this has plenty to do with that game for Leicester against Liverpool. Some twenty years later, it’ s still hard to watch, the wild shanks , the miscued headers , his sad little face, ” FourFourTwo added .
“It would be remiss not to point out that Akinbiyi had a thoroughly respectable career outside the Premier League .
“Burnley, Wolves and Bristol City fans will all remember him fondly, but the memory of that day at Filbert Street is just too vivid . Top – tier spells either side of his two seasons at Leicester – at Norwich and Sheffield United – yielded no goals in 18 appearances. ”, the magazine stressed.

Air Task Force of the Operation Lafiya Dole has terminated unidentified number of Boko Haram fighters in Sambisa Forest,Borno State.
The airstrike also annihilated the militants’ logistics facility.
This was made known in a statement by the, Coordinator Defence Media Operations, Major General John Enenche.
According to the statement: “The Armed Forces of Nigeria, through the Air Task Force of Operation LAFIYA DOLE, has neutralized several Boko Haram Terrorists (BHTs) and destroyed a logistics facility within the heart of the Sambisa Forest in Borno State. This was achieved in an air interdiction mission executed on 16 April 2020 as part of ongoing operations to destroy the terrorists’ capabilities before they can be brought to bear against land forces and other targets.
“The air strike was conducted after series of day and night Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) missions confirmed that makeshift structures, hidden under the dense vegetation of the area, were being used by the terrorists to store their logistics as well as house their fighters. Consequently, the Air Task Force dispatched its fighter jets to attack the hideout, leading to the destruction of some of the structures as well as the killing of several terrorists. Post-strike battle damage assessment showed the logistics facility engulfed in flames.
“The Armed Forces of Nigeria, in furtherance of the objective of restoring peace and security in the North East, will sustain the offensive against the enemies of our Nation”.
